The multi-threaded plot dates back to the 18th century. Pál Görgey, the deputy lord of Szepes County, the early premixed, lonely gossip with a turbulent soul, awaits the new year in a gloomy mood, while the city of Locse greets the new century with joy. However, New Year’s Eve lead casting also disrupts the fun of city fathers with ominous prophecies. And the hunt the next day and New Year really ends tragically. And this is how the long war begins: the deputy fights for the prestige of the noble county, later for his mere life, the citizens of Locse stand up for the Saxon privileges, for the interests of the city. The blessed strife so blinds those who are struggling for selfish ends that they do not even see the light of the Rákóczi War of Independence. Most of the film's recordings were made in the original locations - in Locse, Szepes, Banská Bystrica, Bratislava, Tapolcsány and in the picturesque Czech-Moravian border town of Telcs.
