Smithy finds himself on the wrong side of the Long Marsh heavies when he tries to help a young boy, Jamie, to stay out of trouble in order to secure his parole. When Jamie is framed for stabbing wing leader Chris Hammond, Smithy tries to secure evidence to prove that fellow inmate Martin Johnson was responsible for the attack. Meanwhile, an affair between a property manager and one of his office staff proves to be a vital lead in securing Smithy's freedom, as the team finally manage to establish a connection between Carl Caplan and Pete Larson, and begin to gather evidence to prove that the £25,000 loan that Caplan received was payment for his security as a false witness.
