In this episode, we are joined by Nick Pope, who headed the UK’s program investigating “unidentified aerial phenomena,” to discuss what the Pentagon has revealed about its Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, sightings made by Navy pilots and what it can all mean.
For decades after a UFO crashed in Roswell, New Mexico, eerily similar flying saucer sightings dominated headlines around the globe. In this episode of “The Basement Office,” Nick Pope, formerly of the UK’s Ministry of Defence, joins us to connect the dots between those sightings and analyze the most credible reports.
In this episode of “The Basement Office,” the New York Post’s Steven Greenstreet sits down with Nick Pope to discuss the latest UFO sightings and the frightening modern-day craft the Black Triangle. We speak with witnesses of mass sightings in various locations across the country including New York's Hudson Valley and Phoenix, Arizona. Nick reveals why the government downplays such events and offers his take on whether another big wave of UFO sightings is on the horizon.
In this episode of “The Basement Office,” Steven Greenstreet reveals a close encounter he had with a black, triangular UFO in Provo, Utah, in 2003. Nick Pope helps Steven come to terms with what he saw, and helps explain why so many similar UFO sightings go unreported. They discuss why it couldn’t have been a B-2 bomber or secret government project like the rumored Aurora plane or TR-3B.
In this episode of “The Basement Office,” Charles Halt discusses his shock at his UFO sighting in Rendlesham Forest in 1980 and the audio recording he made during the event. Nick Pope, who wrote a book on the incident, offers his insight into what happened when a UFO was reported to have landed outside the Bentwaters and Woodbridge air force bases in the UK. Nick and Steven Greenstreet dig into the physical evidence and government response in the aftermath.
In this episode of “The Basement Office,” we return to Rendlesham Forest in 1980, the site of England’s most infamous UFO sighting. Staff Sgt. Jim Penniston was on security duty at RAF Bentwaters when he was sent out to investigate an aircraft crash in the woods. What he discovered was no ordinary plane, but instead what he described as a “craft of unknown origin.” If you think that sounds strange, buckle up, because this story only gets more incredible as it unfolds. Nick Pope joins Steven Greenstreet on their wildest journey into the world of UFOs yet.
On April 27 the Department of Defense issued a statement confirming the release of three videos showing US Navy jets chasing "unidentified aerial phenomena" -- that's the approved military term for what the public calls UFOs. The videos had been in the public domain for some time, but there was always a degree of doubt about them. The Pentagon statement made it official: Yes, the videos are genuine, and no, the DOD still doesn't know what these things are -- the official categorization is "unidentified". The timing of the Pentagon's announcement drew a lot of comment. Why release these videos now, people asked, with the world's attention focused on the coronavirus? Was this a classic example of "a good day to bury bad news"? If that was the Pentagon's plan, it backfired badly. Perhaps because we've been so saturated with COVID-19 coverage, everyone was looking for something else. Far from being buried, the story made headlines all around the world.
In 2004, US Navy pilots encountered multiple fast-moving UFOs off the coast of San Diego, California. While this story is now widely known, one detail from the USS Nimitz incident has oft been overlooked... that they also witnessed a UFO under the surface of the ocean. A UFO in the water is called a USO or Unidentified Submerged Object. And there is a very long history of UFOs being witnessed under, above or near bodies of water. From a sighting recorded by Christopher Columbus in 1492, to the Utsuro Bune folklore in Japan, or the highly-documented Shag Harbour incident, water seems to play a big role in UFO sightings.
There is one wild conspiracy theory that refuses to go away... that UFOs originated in Germany during World War II, that they built a secret UFO base in Antarctica, and that one of these UFOs crashed in Kecksburg, Pennsylvania in 1965. Nick Pope and Steven Greenstreet dive into the documented evidence, witness testimony and scientific analysis in order to separate fact from fiction. And, in this case, the truth just might be weirder than previously thought.
There are many documented cases of witnesses claiming to have not only seen a UFO, but they also claim to have seen the occupants of that UFO. In pop culture, these "occupants" are often referred to as "aliens". But are they really? Nick Pope and Steven Greenstreet dive into some of the most famous cases of "close encounters of the third kind".
Alien abduction is something most people have heard of before. Throughout our pop culture, there are countless scary movies, TV shows, comics, books, stories of aliens kidnapping humans, conducting invasive experiments on them, and leaving them permanently haunted from the experience. But beyond these examples of science fiction entertainment, there are real people who claim this is really happening. And while it's basically impossible to prove and validate these incredible claims, the stories remain... continue... and have become urban legends. In this episode, Nick Pope and Steven Greenstreet analyze close encounters of the fourth kind… alien abduction.
The US government officially released 3 videos of "real" UFOs. Nick Pope and Steven Greenstreet analyze this shocking news and offer a new revelation - the US Navy patented an electromagnetic craft that might solve the UFO mystery.
An immersive look at underwater UFOs and what role water plays with sightings.
Did UFOs originate from Nazi Germany and did Hitler have alien technology? Nick and Steven separate hard fact from wacky fiction.
Some UFO witnesses claim to have also seen "aliens". Nick and Steven look at evidence of "close encounters of the 3rd kind".
Nick and Steven look at famous cases of alien abduction and analyze the fact and fiction of the phenomenon.
In February 2020, investigative reporter Tim McMillan released an in-depth article in Popular Mechanics about AATIP, the Pentagon's secret UFO program. In this exclusive interview with Steven Greenstreet, McMillan shares some shocking revelations about the alleged Roswell UFO crash and how the Department of Energy might play a big role in the government's ongoing quest to identify unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP).
On November 7, 2006, at Chicago O'Hare International Airport, multiple witnesses including airline pilots, supervisors and mechanics reported seeing a disc-shaped UFO hovering over United Airlines gate C17. At the time, the FAA claimed the witnesses might have confused a "weather phenomenon" for a flying saucer. But, in this bonus episode of The Basement Office, we reveal rarely-heard audio of FAA airport radio communications from that day that might shed some light into what was in the skies.
President Trump’s signature Sunday on the $2.3 trillion COVID-19 relief and government funding bill started a 180-day countdown for the Pentagon and spy agencies to say what they know about UFOs. The provision received very little attention, in part because it wasn’t included in the text of the 5,593-page legislation, but as a “committee comment” attached to the annual intelligence authorization act, which was rolled into the massive bill. The Senate Intelligence Committee, chaired by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), said in the comment that it “directs the [director of national intelligence], in consultation with the Secretary of Defense and the heads of such other agencies … to submit a report within 180 days of the date of enactment of the Act, to the congressional intelligence and armed services committees on unidentified aerial phenomena.”
