Betrübt über den Verlust der Igel, machen die Tiere einen Abstecher in appetitlich aussehende Kohlfelder. Doch die Blätter sind mit tödlichen Pestiziden bedeckt. Fuchs beschließt, nachts in einer nahegelegenen Stadt nach Essbarem zu suchen. Die nächtliche Expedition gerät zu einem Alptraum, als Fuchs und Füchsin von Hunden gejagt werden, und kaum dass Fuchs zu den anderen zurückgekehrt ist, werden die Tiere zwischen zwei Traktoren gefangen, die Pflanzenschutzmittel versprühen. Kaninchen gerät unter die Schadstoffdusche, überlebt aber zu seinem eigenen großen Erstaunen.
Still shaken and grieving for the death of the hedgehogs the animals find themselves in a large field filled with vegetables. The grass-eating animals are overjoyed with the abundance of food for them until Fox notices something is wrong. He believes the field may be poisonous. When a tractor spraying a liquid substance heads their way the animals make a run for it. However Mr Rabbit is too slow and is coated in the substance. As the Rabbits panic Fox discovers that the poisonous chemical is in fact only harmful to insects like caterpillars and butterflies. Mr Rabbit is not going to die much to Mrs Rabbit's relief.
I viandanti si ritrovano ad attraversare una zona di campi coltivati, ma grazie a un’intuizione di Volpe e di Gufo ci si accorge appena in tempo che sono campi avvelenati, e che le verdure intorno a loro sono tossiche perché cosparse di pesticidi. Per trovare del cibo per tutti, allora, Volpe e alcuni altri compiono un’incursione notturna nella vicina città, mentre il resto del gruppo giunge in un campo ancora incontaminato. Ma al mattino irrompono all'improvviso le macchine dell’uomo che spruzzano veleno, dalle quali gli animali si salveranno per un pelo. Infine Volpe propone a tutti di attraversare la città.
Nog steeds treurend over de dood van de egels houden de dieren halt in een groot groentenveld. De plantenetende dieren zijn dolblij met de overvloed aan voedsel voor hen totdat Vos merkt dat er iets mis is. Hij gelooft dat het veld giftig kan zijn.
Dyra frå Dyreskogen nærmar seg Hjorteparken. Dei måtte krysse ein farleg motorveg, og ikkje alle kom seg heilskinna over. Dei er komne til store område med salat. Her er nok mat for dei som et grønnsaker, men alt smakar så rart.
