Determined to live life on her own terms, she and her tough-as-nails Lady-in-Waiting Cassandra embark on a secret adventure where they encounter mystical rocks that magically cause Rapunzel’s long blonde hair to grow back. Impossible to break and difficult to hide, Rapunzel must learn to embrace her hair and all that it represents.

Varian begs Rapunzel for help, but she turns him away to focus on saving her people -- and finding her parents.
After another nightmare about her hair, Rapunzel gets a message from Varian saying he may have solved the mystery of the rocks and needs her to find the bronze Graphtyc. Rapunzel and her friends journey to Old Corona, which is now overgrown by the Black Rocks. Along the way, they come across a group of masked figures who are out to stop Rapunzel from seeking the answers she wants.
Varian comes to Rapunzel for help in finding the remnants of the Magical Golden Flower, which may hold the key to stopping the Black Rocks. Working together, they venture through the old tunnels beneath Corona. However, as they reach their prize, Varian betrays Rapunzel and steals the flower so he can use it to free his father. Unfortunately, his attempts fail, only to realize that the flower's magic exists within Rapunzel.
After Varian sends an automaton to attack the castle, the king puts Rapunzel on lockdown -- just like old times.
Believing that Rapunzel's hair is the only way to save his father, Varian holds the queen hostage in hopes that the princess will come.
Finally outside the kingdom's walls, Rapunzel begins her long journey following the path of the black rocks.
Eugene, Lance and Shorty are quickly captured by the Baron's men and taken to his castle where they met by the Baron and his daughter, Stalyan, Eugene's ex-fiancée. The Baron threatens Lance's life unless Eugene marries Stalyan.
The Black Rock trail leads Rapunzel and gang to The Great Tree, an ancient, mountain-sized tree.
They run into the mighty Hector and discover the Moon Incantation.
Rapunzel follows the black rocks to the Dark Kingdom to uncover the truth behind her destiny.
Reluctantly, Eugene listens to his father and refuses to allow Rapunzel entrance into the castle.
Cassandra discovers that she is the daughter of Mother Gothel, who abandoned her on the night she kidnapped Rapunzel.
After order is restored to the kingdom, Rapunzel finally begins to open up about Cassandra to Eugene.
Rapunzel is preparing for Eugene's real birthday while secretly planning to propose to him, unaware that Eugene plans to do the same thing.
Cassandra recovers from her defeat as the Enchanted Girl, revealed to be Zhan Tiri and having orchestrated the clash between the Sundrop and Moonstone's energies to regain her corporeal form.
Rapunzel rallies all of Corona together to take back the kingdom. Varian learns that Demanitus made a machine that trapped Zhan Tiri in another world and Rapunzel, Eugene, Pascal, Varian, Lance, Angry and Red venture to Demanitus' tomb to get the plans.
Eugene gets through to Edmund who willingly destroys the Mind Trap. They return and rescue the Coronans.
Cassandra decides to leave Corona to look for her own destiny and bids farewell to Rapunzel who accepts her title of princess.
