Nnu-Anu-Kf は、ハッピー星から他の人々に幸せを広めるために旅してきた、タコに似た宇宙人、ハピアンです。地球に不時着し、連邦当局から逃れた後、彼は、クラスメイトのマリーナに執拗にいじめられ、飼い犬のチャッピーだけが慰めになっている 9 歳の少女、シズカに出会います。シズカは、彼がタコに似ていることに気づき、その宇宙人をタコピと名付けます。タコピは、シズカを助けるために、自分の惑星のハッピー ガジェットを使うことにしました。しかし、マリーナがチャッピーにわざと噛まれて動物管理局に引き取られた後、シズカはタコピのガジェットの 1 つを使って自殺します。事態の重大さに気づいたタコピは、シズカの生活を改善できることを願って、別のガジェットを使って過去に戻ります。
