In the later years of Goguryeo, Princess Muyeong, King Yeongryu’s daughter and Yeon Choong, Yeon Gaesomun’s son have a fateful encounter and fall in love for the first time. However, King Yeongryu is killed during the coup led by Yeon Gaesomun which turns Princess Muyeong’s heart cold as ice and makes her get involved in a plot to assassinate Yeon Gaesomun and Yeon Choong.

고구려 시대를 배경으로 한 드라마. 영류왕의 딸 무영(김옥빈)이 후궁을 둔 연개소문의 아들 연충(엄태웅)과 사랑에 빠지는 이야기다. 하지만 무영은 자신의 아버지를 죽인 범인이 연개소문이라며 복수를 해야 할지 고민한다. 한편, 연충은 양반 혈통의 아들이자 시종인 어머니의 아들로, 재능은 있지만 첩의 아들이라는 사실 때문에 더 높은 지위에 오를 수 없다는 사실을 깨닫는다. 이후 그는 사랑하는 사람을 죽이라는 아버지의 명령을 받고 내적 갈등에 빠진다.

講述高句麗榮留王的女兒無影與殺父仇人淵蓋蘇文之庶子淵忠相戀後，在復仇和愛情間掙扎矛盾的故事。劍與花分別象徵憎惡與愛情，男女主角是一對背負家族仇恨卻又彼此深愛的戀人。
