The doctor tells AJ that they've bought another six months before they'll need Cole. After thinking that Cole sent Caitlin away so that he could go back to his old ways, Olivia realizes that he was blackmailed into helping Francesca. Olivia gives the emeralds to Cole and tells him that if she ever catches him in a lie again, she'll have his head on a platter. When she asks him the nature of his relationship with Francesca, he tells her that she was his first love. Olivia asks if he still loves Francesca, and he says that he loves Caitlin now, and that's all that matters.
