In the Stranded series premiere of this six episode series, Philadelphia natives Sara, her ex-boyfriend Sean, and their friend Xand catch a boat to the historic Oceanic Hotel on the remote and fog-shrouded Star Island off the coast of New Hampshire. Sara is the group's paranormal enthusiast, while Sean is yet to be convinced, and Xand is a cynic who's looking for adventure. The group steps onto the island and quickly discover reports of disembodied voices, faces peeking in windows, and of furniture that seems to have a life of its own. Their first dinner in the hotel is disturbed by a slamming noise that may or may not have been a coincidence and the girls share a bedroom since Sara's strong beliefs scare her out of sleeping alone. A window that seems to shut itself leads the group to the fourth floor where they suspect ghosts from long-dead hotel staff may be residing. Rumors of a child spirit keep the team on their toes while they explore the nursery and record a hair raising EVP. During their stay, the team explores the farthest corner of the island and discovers a graveyard that could hold clues to the mysterious spirit's identity. With a new lead, they hatch a plan and spring a trap to catch the spirit in action - they tie a number of dolls to the doors in a hallway, hoping to confirm a spirit's presence if any of the doors have opened (and thus the dolls move). No action occurs, but the gang is still spooked. On their last night in the hotel, they decide they should split up for one last investigation. Alone and scared, Xand begs her friends to reunite and they take on the fourth floor together. Here, at the epicenter of the paranormal activity, the team demands the spirit show themselves. One really large, scary crash later, and Sean is determined to face any forces at the hotel, but Xand and Sara convince him to back off. The three leave the island, with skeptics Xand and Sean certainly more convinced than when he arrived about the validity of paranorm
Katie, Zak, and James, three musician friends from Brooklyn, NY, drive up the coast to Newport, Rhode Island where they take up residence for five days in Seaview Terrace. The cavernous Gilded Age mansion was left behind by Edson Bradley, a late 19th-century whiskey mogul. While his ghost is believed to still be in residence, the opulent estate is reportedly lorded over by Bradley's late wife, Julia. Today, guests report drastic temperature changes, strange noises, and terrifying apparitions. Zak is a believer in the paranormal, James is a skeptic, and Katie is on the fence but eager to find proof of the unknown. The investigators arrive after nightfall and, finding the house without power, descend into the inky basement in search of a fuse. They're startled by inexplicable sounds in the darkness and retreat to Mrs. Bradley's master bedroom for the night. Zak talks in his sleep about a hat, which the team laughs off until later, when investigating the sound of footsteps, Zak finds a women's hat in the attic. While tinkling on the keys of a grand piano, the trio hears the sounds of disembodied footsteps on the floors above. Despite the plush canopy beds, claw-foot tubs, and roaring fireplaces, Katie, Zak and James quickly start to feel less like guests and more like intruders. They witness doors closing and opening on their own and watch in horror as an EMF detector seems to record a presence from the beyond. On the final night, Katie tries to relax with a bubble bath, but a storm sets all three friends on edge. When a set of locked double doors bursts open in front of them, they panic and begin to unravel. During their climactic final investigation, they hear what sounds like phantom organ music. When they later discover an organ, seemingly dismantled for years, they speculate that it may have been the lady of the manor at work (not to mention a ghost organ). Zak and Katie end their stay as devout believers and although James has his doubts, all three agree
Jeff, his girlfriend Shannon, and friend Tommy drive from their hometown of Philadelphia, PA into the backwoods of New York to investigate paranormal reports at a historic mansion. Unlike his companions, Jeff is a resolute skeptic who thinks there’s no such thing as ghosts. Their destination is Burn Brae Manor, a stately house and wedding gift from the President of the Singer Sewing Machine Company to his daughter, Margaret Ellis. Unfortunately, her stay was short-lived. After losing her infant son, she hanged herself from a tree in the yard. To this day, her ghost is reported to haunt the halls, and the sounds of children are said to echo through the house. For five days, the group will investigate these reports by living alone inside the manor.
Yarc, his girlfriend Princess, and their friend Stephen leave the comforts of Brooklyn NY to check into the sprawling Three Valley Chateau in the snowy mountains of British Columbia. Yarc is a devout believer in the paranormal, Princess is an adamant skeptic, and Stephen thinks there's "something" to be discovered, but doesn't have proof. All three are in for an adventure as the sprawling 200-room chateau is allegedly rife with paranormal activity. A creature that crawls along the bottom of the pool, and a shrieking woman that hovers over beds are just two of the ghosts allegedly in residence.
