Na škole se koná závěrečný večírek a JTmu je dohozena třináctiletá sestra modelky, s níž chtěl jít. Danu naopak v nejnevhodnější chvíli opustí partner. JT získává obrovskou šanci zachránit si důstojnost a učinit dobrý skutek. Brendan zbil spolužáka, který od něj opisoval. Carol, protože s takovým jednáním nesouhlasí, pozve chlapcovy rodiče, aby posléze zjistila, po kom to hoch má.
Der große Schulball sorgt für Aufregung. J.T. findet keine Partnerin und muss sich schließlich mit der kleinen Schwester seines Kumpels zufriedengeben – und Dana wird von ihrem Traummann sitzen gelassen. J.T. sucht verzweifelt eine Partnerin für den Schulball. Doch keine steigt auf seine coole Tour ein. Bis sein Kumpel Phil ihm seine Schwester als Begleitung anbietet. Allerdings handelt es sich nicht wie er annahm um das Bademoden-Modell, sondern um seine jüngere Schwester, die gerade mal 13 ist. J.T. ist völlig demoralisiert und nur durch Codys Moralpredigt lässt er sich breit schlagen, nimmt das halbe Kind mit und spielt den Babysitter. Dana hingegen scheint das große Los gezogen zu haben. Sie ist mit dem Schwarm aller Mädchen, Jeff Brock, da. Doch dann trifft der seine Ex-Freundin und versöhnt sich wieder mit ihr. Besonders peinlich wird es, als Dana den Tanz eröffnen soll und ganz alleine dasteht. J.T. springt selbstlos als Ersatzmann ein. Carol und Frank haben die Eltern von Lester eingeladen, mit dem sich Brendan geprügelt hat, um das Problem wie zivilisierte Menschen zu lösen. Doch die Tubmans erweisen sich als ebenso unausstehlich wie ihr Filius und Carol gehen die Nerven durch.
After a little bad luck, JT is deceitfully set up with a 13-year-old. Dana, on the other hand, was able to get a date with the just broken up, best looking guy in school. At the prom, however, Dana is dumped for his ex-girlfriend. Dana is heartbroken-- not only because she lost her date, but also because she must dance the spotlight dance (as Student Body President) all by herself. JT comes to console her and offers to dance with her. Although the two walk out insulting each other under their breath, they gain an appreciation for each other.
Brendan belts a boy who cheated off his paper at school. Carol, feeling terrible, invites the boy and his family over. The situation is not reconciled when the boy's parents cheat at monopoly. In fact, after Carol hears them insult Frank and Brendan, Carol belts the boy's dad.
J.T. est désespéré car il ne trouve pas de jeune fille pour l'accompagner au bal de l'école. Son ami Phil persuade sa soeur Eleanor de s'y rendre avec J.T.
