When George advises him there comes a time when you have to let go, Paul finally unloads the inner turmoil he's been experiencing since McLeod's death. He's not sure if he can cope with the daily confrontation with death intrinsic to his job. George says Paul is the only one who can decide what is best for him. Although inwardly hurting, Daniel puts on a brave front when Sharon leaves to go backpacking overseas.
