    Shawn travels just south of Edmonton to Ermineskin Cree Nation, a community that’s one of four Maskwacis Tribal Council Nations. He meets with Jaime Copenace, a local chef and youth programmer who shows him how to make a Moose meat stew.

  • S05E02 Saddle Lake Cree Nation AB

    Shawn heads northeast of Edmonton to Saddle Lake Cree Nation and learns the duties of being an apprentice stickman for a community round dance. A woman who is leery of communicating with the spirit world gets a wakeup call during a reading.

  • S05E03 Siksika Nation AB

    Shawn continues his journey an hour east of Calgary into Blackfoot territory at Siksika Nation, a community steeped in traditions. Knowledge keeper and tanning expert Winston Wadsworth Jr shows Shawn how to prepare a bison hide for brain tanning.

  • S05E04 Victoria Settlement/Métis Crossing AB

    Shawn connects with his Métis ancestry when he travels northeast of Edmonton to Métis Crossing in the Victoria Settlement. Knowledge holder, Lilyrose Meyers, teaches Shawn about the Métis “blanket coat”.

  • S05E05 Tsleil-Waututh Nation BC

    Shawn travels to the Pacific Northwest to Tsleil-Waututh Nation in North Vancouver, B.C. He meets elder Ed Thomas at Cates Park who explains the archeological significance of the area. Next, Shawn meets Dennis Thomas, a Tsleil-Waututh councilor.

  • S05E06 Musqueam Nation BC

    Shawn makes his way to the Musqueam Nation in B.C. and meets revered weaver and knowledge holder Debra Sparrow. They walk along the historical Spanish Banks, where the Musqueam people encountered Captain Vancouver in 1791.

  • S05E07 Tsawassen First Nation BC

    Shawn continues his exploration of the west coast and heads to Tsawassen First Nation. He meets carver Karl Morgan who invites Shawn into his workshop and gives him a lesson on carving a traditional welcome pole.

  • S05E08 Chawathil First Nation BC

    Shawn travels to Chawathil First Nation in Stollo territory along the mighty Fraser River. He meets with master carver George Price who teaches him the art of making cedar rope and then heads to a community gathering and takes part in a traditional hand game.

  • S05E09 Boston Bar First Nation BC

    Shawn ventures into Boston Bar First Nation, nestled in the heart of Nlaka’pamux territory in the Fraser Canyon of B.C. Elder Marlene Stewart teaches Shawn how to prepare a bitter root pudding and he attends a community gathering at the longhouse.

  • S05E10 Penticton Indian Band BC

    Shawn travels to the B.C. interior to the Penticton Indian Band and meets local artist Clint George at his workshop. Clint teaches Shawn how to work with metal to create a beautiful salmon sculpture.

  • S05E11 Osoyoos Indian Band BC

    Shawn heads to the South Okanagan Valley region of B.C. to visit the Osoyoos Indian Band. He checks out a community pit house and cooks over an open fire with Mario Hall and his son Bryant

  • S05E12 Coldwater Indian Band BC

    Shawn makes his way to Nlaka’pamux territory and the Coldwater Indian Band near Merritt British Columbia. He meets with local Nlaka’pamux cattleman, Wayne MacDonald and he gives him a hand feeding the calves.

  • S05E13 Series Finale

    Shawn looks back at some of the highlights of the past five seasons. From coast-to-coast, Shawn learned about more than a dozen Indigenous cultures and made many meaningful spirit connections.
