Maya hat Geburtstag und ist richtig glücklich – zumindest anfangs. Doch weil sich die Kinder immer weniger Mühe mit ihren Geschenken geben, verfliegt Mayas Freude schnell. Sie fühlt sich von ihrer Familie nicht wertgeschätzt und sucht Bestätigung auf anderem Weg: Sie nimmt an einem Vorsprechen für ein Theaterstück teil.

Seeing the kids believe she exists to solely serve at their pleasure, Maya takes the stage to prove she has so much more to offer. Kenneth finds JJ a job, and JJ finds an unlikely rival. Ray goes undercover informing parents on his classmates’ social lives and gets in too deep.

Maya considera que sus hijos creen que sólo sirve para atender sus necesidades, por lo que se planta y decide retomar la interpretación en teatro, para demostrar que tiene mucho más que ofrecer. Kenneth encuentr un trabajo para JJ. Ray informa secretamente de la vida social de sus compañeros a los padres y se involucra demasiado.
