Sowjetrepublik Lettland, Ende der 70er Jahre. Während draußen die antiwestliche Propaganda wütet, gelingt es dem jungen Rock-and-Roll-Fan Renars Rubenis aus einer Nervenheilanstalt in Riga heraus ein unterirdisches Netzwerk zur illegalen Herstellung von Jeans aufzubauen.
