고구려 시대를 배경으로 한 북한의 사극 애니메이션. 1982년에 제작을 시작해서 1997년에 중단, 2019년에 100부로 완결된 북한의 인기 애니메이션으로 남한으로 친다면 1, 2기 방영당시의 날아라 슈퍼보드나 머털도사 정도의 인기를 자랑한다. 북한의 만화영화 제작소인 조선4.26만화영화촬영소[1]에서 제작되었다. 북한의 영상물 중에서 단일 작품 중 가장 화수가 많다.
