I stedet for en fængselsdom i Danmark flygter han til Phuket i Thailand og efterlader et afskedsbrev med ordene: ''Søren er død''. Hans kone og to børn kan ikke komme videre med deres liv, så i 2012 forsøger de at få afsagt en dødsformodningsdom over Søren. Men her tager sagen en uventet drejning. In 1999, Søren Baisgaard flees the country, leaving his wife and two children without an explanation. A few hours earlier, he had been exposed in massive fraud in DSB. Instead of a prison sentence in Denmark, he flees to Phuket in Thailand and leaves a farewell letter with the words: "Søren is dead". His wife and two children can not move on with their lives, so in 2012 they try to get a death sentence passed on Søren. But here the case takes an unexpected turn. A man calls the court in Glostrup and says: '' It's Søren Baisgaard… '' The uncertainty is still alive, so now the family is asking TV 2 for help to get a final sentence in the case. Is Søren still out there?
