「男はつらいよ」のドラマ・映画シリーズで監督を務めた山田洋次が、寅次郎の少年期を描いた「悪童 小説 寅次郎の告白」をドラマ化。寅次郎の出生の秘密から戦争を挟んだ“悪ガキ”時代、妹のさくらに見送られて葛飾・柴又から旅立つ14歳までを描き出す。主人公で寅次郎の育ての親・光子を井上真央が演じる。脚本は岡田惠和。
