Das Klassenbewusst sein der New Yorker Upper Class hat sich in letzter Zeit stark durch eine Art Kasten-System verstärkt. Nicht davon ausgenommen sind auch Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte und Miranda. Miranda hat die Beziehung mit Steve beendet, weil er nicht mehr ihren Ansprüchen genügte. Samantha achtet bei ihren neuen Verabredungen neuerdings darauf wie schwer das Bankkonto ist und auch Charlotte bändelt mit einem Filmstar an. Carrie schafft es immer noch nicht von Mr. Big los zukommen, obwohl die Beziehung nicht gut läuft.

Carrie decides to say "I love you" to Mr. Big, but his response isn't exactly what she was hoping for. Instead, all she got was an ugly purse.
