Jerry ist nach Los Angeles eingeladen - und er darf eine Begleitperson mitbringen. Da die Reise umsonst ist, willigt George auf der Stelle ein. Kaum angekommen, geht alles schief: Jerry verliert einen wichtigen Zettel, auf dem er sich einen Witz für die Show notiert hatte - und George verstrickt einige Berühmtheiten in peinliche Gespräche...

With Elaine in Europe, Jerry asks George to accompany him on a trip to LA and The Tonight Show; while there they will try to locate Kramer. While auditioning, Kramer must deal with the advances of an older female landlord (an actress who hasn't worked since 1934) and get someone in Hollywood to read his script treatment. A body is discovered; the victim, a young woman, was strangled. Kramer meets a woman at an audition and he gives her a copy of his script. Jerry loses the correct phrasing for some new jokes and George tries to get Lupe, the chambermaid, to make his bed just right. At The Tonight Show, George disturbs the guests and Jerry bombs. The woman Kramer gave the script to is strangled and his script is found in her possession. Kramer's face is shown on the news as the prime suspect for the "Smog Strangler," a serial-killer.

Jerry è invitato come ospite alla celebre trasmissione televisiva "The Tonight Show" e decide di portare George come accompagnatore. Mentre sono a Los Angeles i due cercano di mettersi in contatto con Kramer, che nel finale della stagione precedente era andato a Hollywood per diventare un attore. Vengono così a scoprire che Kramer si è cacciato in un brutto guaio.

Jerry vai "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" e leva George consigo a Los Angeles para procurar Kramer, que desapareceu há alguns meses e surgiu depois de forma surpreendente num episódio de "Murphy Brown." George e Jerry não sabem que o seu inconstante amigo está em apuros por ser vítima de um caso de identidade trocada. Entretanto, George incomoda todas as celebridades que encontra.

Jerry y George van a Los Ángeles para que Jerry pueda participar en The Tonight Show. Mientras están allí­, intentarán encontrar a Kramer, actualmente sospechoso de ser un asesino en serie. Además, George pone en peligro la actuación de Jerry con su comportamiento.

George e Jerry vão a Los Angeles para participar do “Tonight Show”. Kramer também viaja para tentar vender seu script para uma executiva de Hollywood, mas quando a moça é encontrada morta, as suspeitas apontam para o atrapalhado Kramer. Ele nem sabe o que ocorreu, mas aparece no noticiário e começa uma grande caçada ao suposto assassino. Jerry e George arrumam mais confusão quando pegam uma carona num carro de polícia e acidentalmente acabam libertando um criminoso. O policial e os dois amigos vão até o local onde está Kramer está. Ele é preso como serial killer.
