La famille anglaise tuée sur le parking a été identifiée : il s’agit des Al-Hilli. Des Anglais bien installés dans une banlieue chic de Londres que rien ne prédestinait à un tel sort. Mais très vite, les enquêteurs identifient une querelle de famille qui pourrait expliquer le drame : Saad, la victime et son frère Zaïd se sont battus à propos de l’héritage conséquent de leur père, mort quelques mois auparavant. Pour la police française, Zaïd devient le suspect numéro 1, mais la police anglaise refuse ce scénario. Seule une intervention au sommet de l’État semble pouvoir faire avancer l’enquête.
The English family killed in the parking lot has been identified: they are the Al-Hillis. Well-established in an upscale suburb of London, nothing seemed to predestine them to such a fate. But investigators quickly uncovered a family dispute that could explain the tragedy: Saad, the victim, and his brother Zaid had clashed over their late father's substantial inheritance, following his death a few months earlier. For the French police, Zaid became the prime suspect, but the English police rejected this theory. Only high-level state intervention seemed capable of moving the investigation forward.
