    It was a ridiculous idea from the start. Travel to the edge of the earth to see one of the planet’s rarest events- a total solar eclipse in the Arctic. Faced with the likely reality of bad weather obscuring the sun and having to battle frigid, arctic temperatures and winds, the odds did not favor success. Despite this the Salomon Freeski TV team and set out on an expedition to realize photographer, Reuben Krabbe’s grand vision to capture a single unique image- one of skiing during a solar eclipse. Persistence, preparation and a positive attitude was a guarantee of nothing as March 20th, 2015, dawned. The fate of the expedition’s goal would rest entirely in the hands of the weather gods.

    In 2015 the new Skyway Monte Bianco opened, replacing the rustic funivia cable car that for decades transported skiers and alpinists up to Punta Helbronner on the Italian side of Mont Blanc. Oscar Taiola, a mountain guide and icon of the former cable car and now safety manager for the new Skyway shares his passion for the high mountains while recounting the history of there former lift through to its current state of the art incarnation. Times and the technology might have changed, but as skiers Tony Lamiche, Alex Pittin, Kaj Zackrisson and Josh Daiek discover, the mountains haven't.

    In the middle of nowhere Nevada lies one of the most beautiful couloirs in the world. The couloir named "Terminal Cancer" has drawn people from all over the world to ski within its high walled confines and down its straight as a rule fall line. When Cody Townsend heard rumors of more Terminal Cancers lying deep in the hidden and remote confines of the Ruby Mountains, he joined Elyse Saugstad and Josh Daiek for a rendezvous with TC and then he and Josh set off on a 5 day mission snowmobiling, skinning, hiking and climbing on the hunt for more steep, narrow and aesthetic couloirs.

    The only thing greater than this group of skier's desire to claim a first ski descent on Greenland's second highest peak is the size of their carbon footprint to get there. Loaded with guilt, they decide to bring along renowned glaciologist, Alun Hubbard, who’s scientific hypothesis, if proven, could rewrite popular projections of global sea-level rise. However, the entire expedition is put in question when they arrive in Greenland and discover their objective is beyond the range of all available aircraft. Shot on location in Greenland.

In January 2016, Tim joined the Salomon crew for two weeks where they skied Revelstoke, Stellar Heliskiing, Whitewater, Selkirk Tangiers Heliskiing, and Blanket Glacier Chalet.

    Since the first time professional skier, Stan Rey, drove up the highway between Vancouver and Whistler 20 years ago, he’s had a dream of skiing the Tantalus Mountain Range. Visible from the highway, but accessible only by helicopter, the Tantalus Range taunts serious skiers with it’s glaciated peaks every time they pass by. Every year Stan plans to ski those mountains but day to day life always seems to get in the way. When his sister, Olivia, was badly injured in a car accident on the highway in November 2015, Stan is forced to reconsider his priorities and a dream is finally realized.
