What do you think of these companies? Would you buy from your instagram ads? Also, apparently REVICE denim has scammed people out of money before and never shipped their products, so buyer beware when purchasing from any of these brands!
So I saw everyone following each other's makeup tutorials and I wanted to join in, but I decided that I wanted to try something I'd never tried before: NAIL ART. I took all of their quizzes and then did a massive unboxing haul to show you guys what they're all about.

So I saw that the makeup company Eyeko offers a custom or "bespoke" mascara service for your lashes - so I decided we needed to go online, take their quiz, and try out a customized mascara formula of our own! So we got a tube of our own custom formula - for length, definition, and curl with a dash of Korean ~tubing~ technology. What do you think? Are my lashes ~on point~?
So I have done a few bad makeup science experiments before with my own nude lipsticks, foundations, eyeshadows, liquid lipsticks, and highlighters, but I wanted to think bigger this time, and go outside of my own makeup box to see what insights on Sephora I could get by melting one of every lipstick they carry in their store. So we melted 603 lipsticks from 20 different brands, and made 500 to send to you all!
So a few months ago I saw these wild shoes online - and thought instantly that we had to try them out for our ~questionable fashion decision~ series! So I got these Balenciaga Platform Crocs and wore them around for a week, just to see if they could be styled and generally how crazy they were! What do you think? Would you dare try the platform croc?

Did I achieve #NovaBabe status?
I got a hair cut and color based on my face shape and skin tone, an outfit based on my body type and complexion, and a full face of makeup based on my skin and eye shape and color! So with the help of some experts, I went on a makeover journey and got a head-to-toe "perfect" makeover!
So a couple of weeks ago we went to New York for the YouTube Creator Summit, where we met up with our friends Cristine & Ben from SimplyNailogical and Rob and Corinne from ThreadBanger, and we decided to throw together a few quick collab videos - so here is mine! I bought a full face of cheap makeup from Wish to see what it would be like, and also stumbled upon a few fake makeup items like fake Fenty foundation and fake CoverFX highlighter! What do you think? Have you tried Wish makeup?
So we traveled to Japan to film a three-part series about beauty & style and we’re kicking it off with a trip to the SPA THEME PARK for skincare & relaxation! Yunessun is kind of like a mash-up of a traditional hot springs spa and a waterpark, with some very strange baths to boot - including wine, collagen, green tea, coffee, sake, and more! It's time.... to declutter. I've been seeing decluttering and professional organization videos all over the 'Tube recently and I wanted to join in on the ~fun~! So I found some professional organizers to help me go through my entire makeup collection and declutter, sort, organize and build a whole new beauty room. I know, I have a lipstick problem.
So a few weeks ago I saw these crazy pants on twitter - and thought instantly that we had to try them out for our ~questionable fashion decision~ series! So I got these Bronze56k 9-foot-long extendo jeans, just to see if they could be styled and generally how crazy they were! What do you think? Would you dare try these pants?
Today we're going to be taking a look at some fake and real makeup under a microscope! So I've seen a lot of makeup under a microscope videos floating around, so I wanted to get in on the fun and get a microscope of my own to see what I could see! I got some knockoff makeup products from Santee Alley downtown, and then compared those to their real counterparts under a microscope to expose the differences up close on my skin! We took a look at the Sweet Peach Palette, Fenty Foundation, Moonchild Palette, Better Than Sex Mascara, and Kylie Lip Kit.
So it turns out that when you return something to Amazon, instead of restocking it, they auction it off in giant liquidation palettes - where you can get thousands of dollars of stuff for a few hundred dollars!! It feels kind of like an abandoned storage unit except all online - so I bought one and unboxed it all to see if it was really as good of a deal as it looks! The Internet Made Me Buy It - but after seeing this, would you?
So for our decades series last year we traveled back through time until the 1960s - so I decided to go back another decade and put together an entire look based on the fashion, hair and makeup trends of the 50s! What do you think of the finished look?
So basically since we started making YouTube videos, we've gotten a number of *interesting* requests to our business email from companies who want to sponsor us or partner with us. So I decided to find 4 intriguing entries to our business email, NOT sponsored order them, and try them out, to see if I was missing out on anything! We tried a Japanese snack box, a free wifi map app, an ultra-portable seat, and an online psychic app. What do you guys think of my not sponsored haul? And yes, this video is NOT sponsored!
So I've been seeing these bizarre photo and video "magic" editing hacks all over Instagram, and they always seem so incredibly strange that I decided to test a bunch of them out and see how they were! We tried a few out from different instagram accounts and pages and ended up jumping into a giant teacup, twirlin' in the man-made rain, doing a heart bokeh effect, knocking on the door to the upside-down, and walking against the grain of society. Troom Troom, what's good?
Yes, we did this. So I have done a few bad makeup science experiments before with my own nude lipsticks, foundations, eyeshadows, liquid lipsticks, and highlighters, and I've also mixed together every lipstick from Sephora, but I wanted to think more dramatic this time, so I bought every online beauty guru's eyeshadow palette that was currently available, and we mixed them together into one Frankenguru eyeshadow. What do you think it should be named?
So I think perhaps the trend of following other people’s tutorials is ~over~, but I really wanted to cut my own hair so I decided to turn on a YouTube hair cutting tutorial and have at it. Or, as the title suggests, try having at it. I also dyed my hair back to my old color for a full hairstyle transformation. What do you think? Would you try this??
So a few months ago I saw these headlines about the Y/Project Thigh-High Uggs - and I vowed that when they were released I would acquire them and add them to our questionable fashion arsenal. So I finally got these giant ugg mashups and wore them for a week to figure them out and try and style them! What do you think? Would you wear these? Or do you think they are positively UGG-ly?
The title pretty much says it all! But yes, Tyler proposed and here is our proposal vlog :). We're getting married!
Merry Christmas Eve, y'all! Here is a weird video we made where I melt every candle from Bath & Body Works together. I figured - it's worked for a myriad of makeup products like lipsticks and eyeshadows and highlighters - so why not try melting every single candle scent from one store together to see what kind of scent we get? It's not bad makeup science - it's bad holiday science! Or maybe bad wax science. Hmm.
And we're back! Here is a video we filmed at the end of last year that I'm excited to finally release! Watch the first half now and save the second half for nap time, lol. So I've seen a lot of non-ASMR youtubers release ASMR videos in the last few months, so I wanted to do a deep dive into what ASMR is and then try an ASMR segment of my own. Thankfully, I got Gibi of Gibi ASMR to help me figure out what it's all about. What did you think of my ASMR segment? Did you like the haircut roleplay? Did any part give you tingles?
Someone tweeted me a picture of an inflatable jacuzzi, and I wanted it. Bad. So I went on Amazon and ordered it, along with four other at-home spa products to create an at-home spa for myself. How was it? It's still unclear. Keep watching if you want to see me test out a one-person sauna, my inflatable pool, a rolling foot bath, a massaging backpack, and a facial steamer that looks like a trash can. Which product was your favorite?
So a few months ago I saw this bizarre, polka-dotted motion capture suit that claimed to be able to measure you and then let you order customized clothes through their app - to which I said: challenge ACCEPTED! So I ordered the suit, let it measure my body, and then waited 2 months for my custom clothes to arrive. And this is what happened. What do you think? Would you try this out?
Ok, here it is, finally, after all of your requests! I bought 4 wedding dresses from Wish.com and tried them out IRL to see how they were! We bought a ballgown, a renaissance dress, a black wedding dress, and a slightly more expensive gown to test out a few different categories. Now, I have previously bought inexpensive clothing, knockoff electronics, "free" items, and mostly fake makeup from Wish before, with usually the same results: it's just not that great, and definitely not as good as the item listings seem online. However, I think the convergence of my recent engagement and the desire for more Wish roasting resulted in this: The Wish Wedding Dress Haul. What do you guys think? This video is NOT sponsored!
It's time.... to declutter. Again. So a few months ago we got my makeup collection professionally organized, and it was very, very exciting - so I asked our professional organizer friends at Practically Perfect to come back and help me tackle all of my personal clothes in my closets (and drawers and cabinets). Chaos ensued, but we eventually got it under control and ended up with a beautifully file-folded bedroom!
Yes, we baked lipstick into a cake... and ate it. So a few weeks ago, one of you guys tweeted me that I should make food with Bite brand edible lipsticks... and I said, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! So I bought a bunch of Bite lipsticks and chopped them up and then baked them into a funfetti lipstick cake. Chaos ensued. Also once more - please do not try this or my dangerous lipstick chopping technique at home!
So, we are getting married and I eventually have to find something to wear, so I decided to go wedding dress shopping and film it all so you guys could join us and see what I picked! We went to LOHO Bride in West Hollywood and tried on a bunch of dresses in a "Say Yes To The Dress" type ~scenario~. Do you guys want to see more wedding planning? A HUGE thank you to Christy & Stephanie!
So for a long time I have seen other people "disneybound", aka dress up as a disney-character-inspired-outfit. So I decided to try my hand at this style challenge and pick a disney villain and a sidekick for Tyler and I to dress up as. How do you think we did??
We tried following a fancy soap art tutorial! A huge thank you to Wix for sponsoring this video - you can check Wix out here: https://www.wix.com/go/SafiyaNygaard And if you want to visit my old Wix website, you can check it out here! http://bit.ly/SafiyaSong So I am a huge fan of fancy soaps, in every way, shape, and form - I love smelling soaps, feeling soaps, and using soaps. So I decided - why not try and make a fancy bar of soap, myself, from scratch? So I followed a colorful, swirly cold-process soap art recipe from Soap Queen TV with interesting results. I've tried following makeup tutorials and nail art tutorials before, and this was by far the hardest one! You can check out Soap Queen TV here: https://www.youtube.com/user/soapqueentv And the Soap Queen blog here: https://www.soapqueen.com/ And the Brambleberry store here: https://www.brambleberry.com/ Also, all of the images on our soap "store" are from the Soap Queen blog!
So as you all know, I have done many frankenmakeup experiments over the past couple of years - and about a year ago, I made a mega-franken-lipstick by melting every lipstick from Sephora together - to see, roughly, what the "average" lipstick from Sephora would look like. And I've always wondered if that "average" would vary from store to store - so I ransacked CVS and bought one of every lipstick they sell there to make into a mega-franken-CVS lipstick. And then we melted down those 500 lipsticks, and made 400 to send to you all!
So we traveled to East Asia to film a six-part series about beauty, style, and shopping and we’re kicking it off with a tour of some of Tokyo's most interesting vending machines! Japan has a TON of vending machines that you can purchase a variety of goods from, and we visited 4 different machines all over the city to investigate some of the strange ones we had heard about. We got some canned bread, hornet larva, spicy snacks, hot soup in a can, and mystery box items from a ~creepy~ vending machine corner!
So we traveled to East Asia to film a six-part series about beauty, style, and shopping - and we’re coming in hot with episode 2 about Japanese Street Fashion Subcultures! Japan has some very iconic and unique Harajuku-centric fashion subcultures, and Lolita style has always fascinated me - so we decided to do a deep dive into the poofy, frilly, pastel style! What do you think of my final look?
So we traveled to East Asia to film a six-part series about beauty, style, and shopping and we’re starting our Korean leg with a quick detour to the Cheese Theme Park in Imsil, South Korea! Yes, that's right - CHEESE. So we teamed up with our friend HojuSara to travel from Seoul to Imsil and check out the Cheese Theme Park - with cheese-making classes, a cheese slide, and giant cheese-shaped buildings. What do you guys think of this Korean Cheese Theme Park?
So we traveled to East Asia to film a six-part series about beauty, style, and shopping and here, finally, is part 4 - we went to Seoul, South Korea and got a K-Pop style makeover! We visited a stylist, makeup artist, and hair dresser who all have worked with real-life K-Pop stars before and got a head-to-toe look inspired by today's most popular K-Pop stars - like Blackpink, Twice, Red Velvet, and BTS, amongst others. And, I became a K-Pop stan along the way. Yes, it happened. What do you guys think of my K-Pop makeover look?
So we traveled to East Asia to film a six-part series about beauty, style, and shopping and here is the 5th installment - in which we went to a "fake" market in Hong Kong and bought head to toe fake designer outfits! The Ladies' Market in Hong Kong is famous for having a lot of counterfeit and knockoff clothing and accessories, from fashion "brands" like Balenciaga, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Off-White, Fendi, Supreme, Peppa Pig, and more! It was an ~interesting experience~, to say the least! What did you think of our fake market finds? A huge thank you to Taylor for accompanying us to the market! You can check out Taylor's channel here! https://www.youtube.com/user/TaylorR1488
So we traveled to East Asia to film a six-part series about beauty, style, and shopping and here is the 6th installment - in which we got a McDonald's Wedding in Hong Kong! No, this is not our real wedding, but this is a real thing that McDonald's actually does. Apparently, in Hong Kong, McDonald's got so many requests to host weddings that they now offer wedding packages - with an MC, catering, guest favors, apple pie wedding cakes, french fry kisses, and even balloon bouquets. So I figured, since Tyler & I are engaged - we had to stop by a McDonald's in Hong Kong and (sorta) get married there to see what it was like! What did you think of our McDonald's wedding?
We're BACK with another frankenlipstick video! And this time, we were able to convince a major makeup company to join us in our bad makeup science lab. We collaborated with Colourpop to bring you guys real, not kitchen-made versions of some of our favorite frankenlipstick shades from over the years, and we also convinced them to help us build a GIANT lipstick! Probably the world's largest, or at least, tallest - but we are unsanctioned by Guinness. Watch as we make one of our collab lipsticks into the Clifford the Big Red Dog of lipstick tubes. What do you guys think? Have I officially lost my marbles? A huge thank you to Dave, Keith, Sydney, and everyone who made this wild dream a reality!
So a few months ago when Cristine was in Los Angeles for VidCon, we decided to drop by the Orly Color Lab in West Hollywood to mix up some custom nail polish colors (with a bit of adult supervision)! We got to make a custom nail polish for each of us as well as mix up a 3rd frankenpolish consisting of all of their polishes together! What do you think of our three shimmery creations?
Hello friends! So as some of you may know, I am engaged, betrothed, and affianced - and so I hereby introduce you to part 1 of our 4 part wedding video series! Being the fashion history enthusiast that I am, I decided to do a little exploration into wedding dresses through history and try on 5 authentic vintage wedding dresses (with era-appropriate hairstyling, makeup, and bouquets to boot!) - ranging from the Victorian Era to the 1980s! Which look was your favorite?
And now I present to you, part 2 of our 4-part wedding series! We had to make a franken-wedding-something, so why not a cake? We decided to bake an 8-tier wedding cake where each layer is a different cake flavor, and then at the end taste them as tiers and all together. What do you guys think? Do you want a franken-cake at your wedding? Should we keep doing bad culinary science or retire our spatulas for good?
Here comes part 3 of our 4-part wedding series! Now as you guys may know, I went shopping for my wedding dress a few moons ago - and we found a very wonderful white bat-sleeved dress. However, I've been teasing the idea here and there of doing a white swan/black swan moment and having a second *black* reception dress to change into for the party portion of the evening. So that is what we're going to be working on now!
Here is part 4 of our wedding series - our wedding vlog! I hope you guys enjoy it! Just so you know, we will be posting our wedding highlight film and our extended first dance video to our second channel (the Tyler Williams channel) in the next few days!
Here is a little final bonus wedding video before we get back to our regularly scheduled programming - our first dance, which was a recreation of the "Addams Family Values" tango! We decided to post this as a separate bonus video because the music is copyrighted, we hope you enjoy seeing the whole thing!
Hello friends & welcome back to our channel! A few months ago, I found out that Amazon started offering a personal shopping service. That's right, Amazon was styling people for a small fee each month - so I figured, we had to try it out to see what kind of clothing & accessories they would send me, and if they would be any good. So we took a quiz and good ole' Bezos sent me a sack of clothes. What do you guys think of my Amazon personal shopper haul?
Hello friends! Here is a weird video we made where I mix every bath bomb from Lush together into one, single, franken-bath bomb. Just a heads up - this video was filmed a couple of months ago, pre-quarantine - I would not recommend heading to the mall right now, but I would recommend taking a nice bath, with or without some fizzing bath products. Anyway, I figured - this type of experiment has worked (within reason) for a wide array of products like lipsticks, foundations, and candles - so why not try mixing every single bath bomb from one store together to see what kind of bath we get? It's BATH makeup science. Wait, no makeup. Bad bath science? Idk. This video is NOT sponsored! We did get permission from Lush to film at their store, but we paid for all of our bath bombs!
So I am a huge fan of fancy soaps, in every way, shape, and form - I love smelling soaps, feeling soaps, and using soaps - and last year I even tried following a soap art tutorial to attempt to make my own batch of snazzy, swirly soap. So when I stumbled upon a whole new category of soapy treats - *dessert* soaps - I figured, we had to try and make some soap cupcakes for ourselves. So I followed a sparkling champagne soap cupcake tutorial from Soap Queen TV/Bramble Berry with ~interesting~ results, to say the least! EDIT: also, apparently the goggles we were wearing aren't the safest option, so if you try something like this please get some real soap-making goggles!!
Hello friends! Apologies for the long absence, but we are trying to get things back on track. No, this video didn’t take us 3 months to make - we filmed a bunch of videos in July and this is the first of them to be released! It’s not a magnum opus, just supposed to be fun and lighthearted. If you want to read more about our plans, you can check out my blog post here: https://www.safiyasnewintrosong.com/single-post/2020/09/04/where-have-we-been Now, onto the video! A few weeks ago, somewhere deep in a visual ASMR YouTube rabbit hole, I discovered the online acrylic pour art community - where people essentially make interesting color combos of paint in a cup, then pour that cup onto a canvas or object - and then manipulate that object to create truly mesmerizing, rainbow, psychedelic pieces of art. And I was instantly hooked - just something about the way the paints flow from the cup and then slide around the canvas really got me, ya know? So I decided to pick an acrylic pour art video and try to follow it myself, to see if I could do it too. So I chose a "pouring guru", Tiktus color art, and got to work. What do you guys think of my ~acrylic pouring adventure~?
Hello friends! So, after a long break from testing out & reviewing clickbait hack videos (I think the photo and video hacks broke me), we decided to make a comeback into the genre by testing out these viral clickbait soap hacks that lots of hackers seem to love making - from Blossom to 5-Minute Crafts to Craft Factory and back. And you know me, I can't resist me some nice soap :). We tried a cloud soap hack, a gummy bear soap hack, and a cinnamon roll soap hack, and shenanigans ensued.
Hello friends! Today, I return to the land of internet hauls and social media targeted recommendations - with a deep dive into the Instagram shop tab! Previously, I have bought things recommended to me via targeted ads on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat - and when the shop tab was rolled out - peeking its lil head out from behind the explore page - I was instantly intrigued. So I spent an evening perusing the shop tab, finding 3 different common themes of what Instagram wanted me to buy, and then purchasing those things, and trying them out. It was a WILD ride, as Instagram recommended me everything from full-on historical costumes to trendy "e-girl" fashion. Which outfit was your favorite? What's on your shop tab?
Hello friends and welcome to another video! So, late last year we decided to take the plunge and move across the country for a fresh start in a new place. After doing some serious decluttering, we packed up our house, grabbed our cat, and hit the road (and vlogged our whole cross-country road trip in our minivan!) It's been a couple of months and we are finally set up enough to dive back into making videos, so here is our moving vlog! Hopefully you guys enjoy it, and thank you for being so patient with us while we figure all of this out. Also, sorry about any smudginess of the windshield! It was tough to keep clean on our drive, but I know sometimes it can look gross, so sorry about that! Lol This video is NOT sponsored!!
Hello friends! The ugly fashion series is BACK! So sorry for the delay in uploading, we're just trying to get our operations situated in our new spot! Hopefully there will not be quite so long a wait for the next video!! This week I am taking on another questionable fashion item, and testing out the Balenciaga x Vibram separated toe high heels! The internet was very unnerved when these bad boys hit the scene and though it's been a while since I took on an "ugly" piece of clothing, I felt like it was time to make a comeback. So I styled these bizarre shoes for a week to see what, if anything, I could glean about why they came to be. Quick note -- I did include some pre-2020 footage, so anything you see inside of me in a store is from before 2020! Also, we made sure to take any sans-mask shots in very isolated area, with not another person in sight! This video is NOT sponsored!!
Hello friends! Bad makeup science is back! Wait no, not makeup -- just bad *general* science, I guess. Here is a weird video we made where I mix one of every hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works together!! Bath & Body Works is notorious for having a ton of different hand sanitizers, so I thought it would be fun to mix them together to see what the midpoint color & fragrance will be - and to try and spice up my ~hand sanitizing~ routine. Just a quick disclaimer - some of the shots in the intro/buying segment of this video are shots from our Franken-candle video from 2018, which is why everyone is ~unmasked~. Also, any extra sanitizers that we still have after this video will be donated! This video is NOT sponsored!!
Hello friends! Bad makeup science is back! Wait no, not *bad* makeup science -- potentially *good* makeup science! Or, at least okay makeup science. So a few months ago while I was jonesing to melt something, I encountered this book -- called Make It Up, by Marie Rayma -- which details how to make pretty much every beauty and body product you can think of, custom and from scratch. And being the lipstick fiend that I am, I decided to follow one of her lipstick recipes to make myself a custom lipstick (color and base) from scratch. What do you think of my final color? What product should we tackle next?
Hello friends! So, previously we have tested out many a bizarre hack video -- from beauty hacks, to fashion hacks, to photo/video hacks AND soap art hacks -- from Blossom, 5 Minute Crafts, and others -- and in general, I have not been impressed. BUT, a couple of months ago when I stumbled upon these beautiful CANDLE art hacks -- I fell in love. These are the coolest candles I've ever seen and I needed to have them. So we decided to pick out a few key candle art hacks and see if they are just pure clickbait, or if you can actually make any of these crafts IRL. We tried a margarita jelly candle hack, a whipped wax latte candle hack, and a wax cherry blossom tree hack. What do you guys think of our final products?? What do you guys think of these soap hacks??
HELLO FRIENDS!! So, a couple of months ago I got this ad on facebook for "digital fashion" - which, as a weird fashion lover, piqued my interest. So, I decided to use the DressX digital fashion service and "wear" digital clothes every day for a week to see how it turned out -- and then I posted those pictures to instagram to see what you all thought of my virtual digs! Which outfit from this week was your favorite?
HELLO FRIENDS!! This week, I ventured to an Amazon Liquidation Store in Raleigh, NC called Treasure Hunt Liquidators to get me a haul of Amazon customer returns! A few years ago, we bought an Amazon Return Box from a liquidation website -- and it was kind of crazy, but we *were* able to get a lot of stuff for a pretty big discount. So when I heard about an Amazon Returns Store... I figured we had to go! I got a drone, a spice blender, a go pro lens, a massage chair, and a microdermabrasion tool (and a lava lamp & succulent growth light) -- all for $10 each!
I Stayed Overnight In An Underwater Hotel
Original Title: I Ran A Chocolate Factory For A Day
HELLO FRIENDS!! Yes, we did something bad. Now, as you guys may know... I love halloween. From the spooky decorations to the costumes, to the candy, oh yes, THE CANDY. From Snickers to Skittles to every Reese's shape imaginable, I am a halloween candy fiend. So I had a horrible idea that I decided to act upon: what if we tried to melt every halloween candy together into a single franken-candy... the one candy to rule them all, and in the darkness, satiate my desire for an entire bucket of halloween candy in just one bite? Well, I guess we're gonna find out. Because that's what this video is about.
HELLO FRIENDS!! So, I found something... a few months ago, while we were trying to film a video where I let TikTok ads pick my outfits, I stumbled upon... this dress. It goes by a few names but it's most commonly some version of the "floral midriff shaper corset sundress" - and after buying one for the video, my for you page started getting flooded with TONS of ads for what looked like the same dress - but all from different companies, and with wildly different price points. So, I decided - let's buy a few of these bad boys and see what actually ends up at our doorstep - and find out, what the heck IS up. Where are all these dresses coming from? Are they all the same dress? Clearly someone is lying here - but who? I guess we'll find out...
HELLO FRIENDS!! This week we’re taking a 52-hour Amtrak sleeper train across the country! So, I've fallen over to the "overnight sleeper train" side of youtube - and I am HOOKED, people. And after watching hours and hours of train content, I decided - it was time to try my own hand at it. So we took the California Zephyr train, which travels from San Francisco to Chicago (and also the other direction as well) - across 7 states and over 2,400 miles!! We experienced everything from delays to endless sauce packets to MANY rock sightings. Would you try traveling across the US by train? And where do you think we should we go next? Or better yet, how should we get there?
