Rutger bezoekt straatmuzikant Maurice in Den Haag. Zo'n 25 jaar krijgt Maurice een uitkering nadat hij de droom heeft moeten opgeven om door te breken als artiest. Nu entertaint hij mensen op straat en probeert hij mensen aan het lachen te maken. Huub heeft juist nog een heel leven voor zich, maar zit thuis met chronische depressiviteit. Hulphond Happy helpt hem hierbij. Iris heeft twee kleine kinderen en ontvangt toeslagen. Hierdoor hoeft ze minder te werken. Samen met haar moeder Karin redt ze het aardig en lukt het haar om veel te sporten en gezond te eten.
