Welcome to the most obese city in the world! We are in McAllen. Here, almost one in two people is obese and almost half of the remaining population is overweight. This means that 3 out of 4 people outside are at risk of serious health problems and premature death. This city is designed to make people fat to the point of making them heavy that they can't get out of bed. The inhabitants of McAllen order fast food up to three times a day and the trend is not decreasing. McAllen is a small low-income town in Texas, near the border with Mexico. With over 500 fast foods for a population of 150,000, the fast food density here is almost six times higher than the average in the United States. Obesity here is also caused by urban planning that discourages travel. This city is built for cars. Most parks are located in the southern and western part of the city, often a 20-minute drive or almost a two-hour walk from residential neighborhoods.
