The second mission is to make a little raft and get materials and themselves across the water. The girls are successful but the guys are too heavy for the raft and time runs out before they can get across. The next thing they have to do is get through the obstacle of ropes. Everyone does well except for Shelly who is scared and has problems but she eventually finishes. The cast is hungry but all they get are MRE's, that are Meals Ready to Eat, and they consist of little packages with food and utensils and sauce in it. It's not what

As Road Rules gears up for a second cross-country adventure, an all-new cast gathers in Key West Florida, ready to begin their trek: Tim, from Pittsburgh, PA; Emily, from Flora, IL; Christian, from Norway; Effie from Israel; and Devin, from Cleveland Heights, OH. On a sun drenched morning, they meet at the southernmost point of the United States and introduce themselves. No sooner have they learned each others' names than a sportscar races toward them and screeches to a stop. The new Road Rulers are shocked to see that the driver and passenger are Mark and Kit, the happy loving couple from last season. The former Road Rulers pass the baton by handing Emily the keys to the Winnie and explaining that they have to find their vehicle and they don't have much time. As the sportscar screeches off, the new Road Rules team grabs their gear and heads off to look for the Winnie, which they find a few blocks away. Along with a treasure-trove of clothes and equipment, the group finds an audio cass
Last week, in the first episode of the new season of Road Rules, we left the cast tagging sharks on Bimini, a small island off the coast of Miami. Having successfully completed their first mission, the gang decides that it's time for some R&R in the bars of North Bimini. Christian, however, has found out about some interesting local culture. He explains that the bar they'll be going to has a tradition that non-locals are expected to leave their underwear behind, hanging somewhere in the bar. The rest of the Road Rules crew seem a bit skeptical, but when they get to the bar, they find it's true: underwear is plastered everywhere. After spending a considerable chunk of their group fund on drinks and toasting Devin's first-ever shot of tequila, it's time to shed some underwear. Christian, Effie and Emily have ""cheated"" by stuffing some extra underpants in their pockets. Emily and Effie tack their panties to a wall and Christian does the same, saying good-bye to his favorite pair of Mickey
Disguised as a cleaning/maintenance crew, the Road Rules gang drives their undercover Honda minivan to the Real World house to steal the 8-ball from their pool table. Once the Real World cast buys his cover story, the rest of the Road Rules gang charges into the house and begins to create a diversion. Devin takes advantage of the confusion to slip outside and grab the 8-ball from the pool table. The Road Rulers get kicked out, but they escape with their prize. Mission accomplished. After their prank, the gang returns their rented disguises and find their next clue printed on the receipt. They are instructed to visit a water-skiing school in Okahumpka, Florida. Later, the group celebrates over dinner at a local restaurant. When they arrive at the Sunset Lakes Ski School, they meet Jack Travers, a professional water-skiing coach. Jack tells them that they'll each have to learn a water-skiing stunt in order to accomplish their mission; kneeboarding, wakeboarding, slalom, barefoot and jump
The next clue leads the group to New Orleans to ride on the Orphius, the biggest float in the Mardi Gras parade. The group heads out to buy all the beads they need to last a lifetime, and then they go to put on their costumes. ""I look like a walking penis,"" states Devin. ""A penis with ears,"" responds Emily. The group jumps on the float and starts riding down the streets by the French Quarter, which is not the cleanest nor the safest part of town. Emily seems very annoyed and feels that the parade is very sexist. She is glad when it finally ends.
Next it's off to Mississippi where the group will participate in a Civil War Reenactment. Devin, Timmy, and Effie will be part of the Union, and Emily and Christian will be part of the Confederacy. Devin feels very uncomfortable due to the lack of color on the site of the war. ""It's like being a cat in a room full of dogs."" After the war everyone is exhausted but a man on a horse brings some good news. The group will attend a ball tonight and their dancing partner will hold the next clue. All dressed up the group gets ready to do some dancing, except Effie decides to sit this one out. Could this be the start of some distancing? Christian calls Emily over and their next clue is revealed. They are heading back to Emily's house in Flora.
On their way back Emily decides to stop in Nashville to let the group meet her good friend Jason. Devin doesn't seem to be enjoying himself much now does he. After saying good-bye Devin and Emily decide it is time to talk. Devin reminds her that they didn't even sleep in the same bed together last night; since when did that start? After a long drawn out conversation they decide to blow it off and look forward to their next mission. After a tearful hello the group sits down for dinner. It is their first big meal since Bimini. Their desert reveals the next clue. They are going to be skydiving. That night Emily takes the group over to meet her ex-boyfriend Wes. The group sits in silence while Emily cries in the kitchen with Wes. On the way home Emily talks about their relationship and how it ended. This must be making Devin feel like he has a better chance now that Wes is completely out of the picture. The next day it is time to sky dive. Each person signs the waiver and gets hands on ins
So next it is time to head to the University of Memphis where the group will have a small competition. Whoever gets more people registered to vote, wins a dinner for two at a very expensive restaurant. Ofcourse, Christian is pretty sneaky and decided to get a whole group of students to help him and he does in fact win. Christian decides to take the whole group to dinner, and after almost not making it in the group sits down to eat. Then tension starts to build. Christian brings up questions about Emily and Devin's relationship. They seem to be thinking differently about where they stand and Devin seems to be getting more uncomfortable as time passes. But hey this is even worse, the bill. After washing dishes due to a lack of $300.00, the group heads their separate ways to do a little dancing, skating, and sleeping.
The next clue keeps this group in Memphis. It is time to do things the Elvis Style. The group will work at the Rendezvous Restaurant as cooks, photographers and impersonators. Before their job the group decides to hang out on their own, but when it's time to go, guess who isn't there. Effie! Devin and Effie scream for about twenty minutes when Devin finds out that Effie was taking a shower the whole time and didn't tell anyone. This is a big deal considering the group hasn't showered in a bout 2 days. The whole night at the restaurant tension is in the air. So the next day Devin and Effie decide to do some bonding and get some things off their chest. Now don't we all feel better?
The gang gets a clue to meet Chalk Donaldson at Sulfur Springs Texas. It is time to ride some wild animals. Emily will ride the Bronco, Effie the saddle bronco, Timmy the bull, Christian another Bronco, and Devin will be a clown. Effie has the time of her life as she rides out into the stadium and oh, Devin comes screaming out. I never thought a clown could look so good! Christian doesn't do too well as he gets flipped off the horse. Next is Emily who is terrified, but Devin is there to comfort her. Timmy is the last to ride and he barely stays up for a tenth of a second. The next clue is tied around a calf's neck. The group finally catches it and finds out they need to head over to the FOX station for work. After acting spoiled as usual Effie ends up with the indoor job along with Christian. Emily, Devin, and Timmy will shoot a live shot for the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin. They get their jobs done and they barely make it in time for the 10 o'clock live shot. Emily cho
The next job is in Red River, New Mexico. Here the group will be building a snow box car for a race. The group decides on building a picnic table and as usual Effie throws a tantrum. Devin lets her have it and that's the end of that argument, but not before Effie yaks about how spoiled Emily is! Devin, being the caring boyfriend, won't let her talk about his love that way! The group finally finishes the car and ends up winning the award for congeniality.
On the way to the next mission we find out that Tim was the mascot to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Until he was fired because he was caught skinny dipping with a woman in a public pool. It was decided that before they got to the next mission that they would break into a hotel and use the pool and sauna to have fun and get clean, because they were broke. After they got done swimming, Effie tried to give some love advice to Devin, and that was when Devin told her that he and his girlfriend had broken up. When they showed up at the field , it was decided that Christian would not be part of the mission because he got sick after his frozen pond swimming bet. The rest of the group sent to find Keith Santiago, when they found him they found out that they was to be spilt up to do different things, Tim was going to help with promotions, Devin was to see peanuts, Emily was to work with the grounds crew, and Effie was to be a batgirl. But before they could do that they had try out to sing the national
The show starts out with Emily and Devin still fighting, I think that it is not possible for Devin to show any kind of commitment even though he does share feelings with Emily. Once they get to Moab the have to get on their bike and ride a trail till they find their next clue. After a long trail and man problems with the GPS, they finally found a box that contained a jack in the box which when they got it to open told them that their next mission was to dog fight. After they found the clue the girls decided to go back to the Winnie while the guys finished the trail. When the guys got back to the Winnie they received a page to meet someone at a restaurant for dinner. So everyone got ready and headed out to the restaurant, except Effie who said that she would be late. After waiting for a while they group was surprised by Christian's Dad, who was in on business and decided to try to find them. After dinner Christian's Dad gave everyone a present and headed out to catch a flight. Christian
On the way to the next mission the group could see the planes dogfighting each other. Seeing that it was the first night of Passover Effie was very worried that she would not be able to partake of the Passover Dinner, but luckily the group found a Rabbi, and he told Effie where there was a family that she could eat dinner at. So they finally found the family's house and dropped Effie off, then they were off to Las Vegas for the night. When they got to Las Vegas they decided to gamble all the money that they had left, 70 dollars. Once that they entered the casino Emily and Devin were asked to leave because the were 18. Later in the evening Effie paged Tim, when Tim returned her page she said that she was finished and asked him to come and pick her up, which he said that he would. After two hours the group showed up to pick her up, and she was not even that mad. Mainly because they had won 60 dollars and had bought her some motsa for Passover week. At the air field they found out that th
We find the gang on the road to Hollywood, in search of the Chinese Theater and footprints from the USS Starship Enterprise crew. After an agriculture checkpoint incident involving a coconut, an attempt to bribe a parking attendant and haggling with a street vendor for a map to the star's homes, they finally get their clue. The Roadies spend the next day hanging out at Venice Beach and are pretty pooped by the time they report for work on a film with a really big star! On the set of ""Beverly Hills Ninja,"" they are greeted by Chris Farley. He tells them it's an all night shoot and the work assignments are: Christian: wardrobe (ie:ironing), Devin: transportation (ie:driving), Timmy: catering (ie:coffee boy), Emily: grip (ie:manual labor), and Effie: Assistant to Chris Farley (ie:cool gig)! While Effie is having a blast, goofing around with Chris, a starstruck and envious Emily predicts that he'll be sending her back after ""20 minutes, tops""! When the crew breaks for ""lunch""; Emily's jeal
The night before they were to give up the Winnie the group stayed up and remembered all that they had been through. Devin said that he remembered the first time that he saw Emily that he thought that she would be high maintenance, and he also thought that Christian was full of it. Then Effie said that she thought that Timmy would the serious one of the group. Later on Christian and Devin decided that it would be cool to switch clothes, and then Devin said that it was typical that he would be put in another crazy outfit. The next morning Timmy got everyone up and they started to clean the Winnie. After some sad moments they headed to the airport. When they got there they unloaded the Winnie and Christian and Timmy went to drop off the Winnie and Christian allowed Tim the honor of parking it. After they parked it Christian got out and placed a for sale sign on the Winnie. When they went up to get the tickets they found out that they were to go to Anchorage Alaska. When they got off the p
When Effie chickens out the instructor tells her to sit down and Emily gets up and is the first one to jump, and she is so excited that she screams the whole way down. Then Christian goes next and he takes his US flag with him, and he does not even want a countdown he just jumps. Then was Devin and during his jump he tries to do a swan dive but he over extends and does a flip. And then Timmy goes next and he does not even wait for the count he just jumps, when he gets back up he says that was for his friend Ty that had died of cancer. After everyone is back on the gondola the instructor says that one more person needs to jump and get the last road key, and just then Effie jumps up and says that she will get it. So they suit her up again and this time she goes backwards and she jumps and when they pull her up there is the key attached to the rope. After they pull her up the instructor says that it is too late to get their prize, so they have to wait till morning. So after everyone gets
Ex-Dallas Cowgirl Michelle and Ivy League frat boy Chris make the trip overseas together and flirtatious sparks fly from the start. Later, under the stars (and under the influence of tequila), Michelle and Chris and Belou and Antoine get all cuddly as fireworks cap off the Spanish festival. from MTV.com
The sexual tension between Antoine and Belou builds. ""I hate you and I love you,"" screams Belou. And what does Antoine's shaving his head bald have to do with all of this? Later, after Chris detonates the $25,000 show, they discover their next clue ... climbing gear? from MTV.com
A sweaty-palmed Patrice faces his fear of heights head on as the Road Rulers have to repel down a steep cliff ... and then go canyoning. At Lake Como in Italy, the Road Rulers get fired up for a water sports competition with the Italian ski team for one million lire (about $600). The girls are charmed by Mikele ... the bald, beautiful, and scheming Italian skier, but the guys see right through him. In training, Belou blows up at the others for ""licking Antoine's ass"" (she means 'kissing'), and tension is thick for the competition, in which our heroes put forth a valiant effort, but eventually lose. A remote-control speedboat carries their next clue ... on to Venice! from MTV.com

The Roadies are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, showered and groomed, ready to head off to WILMA'S PATIO where the next mission will be revealed. But where the heck is Oscar? Vince volunteers to act as search party. He scours the RV park, looking for the lost Latin. Finally, he crosses paths with the Puertorican Powerhouse - Oscar out for his morning jog and dripping sweat. Vince reminds him, ""we're leaving in fifteen minutes."" Oscar assures Vince he'll be ready - and then jogs on! Vince is furious - there's no way Oscar will be ready in time. Florida sunshine-boy reports back to the others in the winnie and all decide they will leave Oscar behind if he isn't ready in time. Oscar hits the showers, but he's too late. Vince wants to take off - we can leave him a note and he can meet us there. Kalle insists they wait and all go together - ""he's
Our heroes fly to Miami and find their new home on wheels. But alas, no horns this time! They head to Key West, and during the drive Kalle and Erika have a heart to heart about what it was like going through their parents' divorces. Mission #4 is ""wing-walking,"" which means standing on top of a plane while it's flying all over the place. Gulp. Only one person will qualify to do this daredevil feat, while the other folks will train to do loops and rolls in a snazzy red plane. Oscar and Kalle are chosen to train for the wing walk, and after a serious competition, Kalle wins out (though Oscar does get to stand up in the cockpit and wave to everybody back on the ground). Kalle does amazingly on her wing walk, and returns to earth to gush about how it was the best thing she's ever done. Kalle and Oscar aren't the only ones who get to fly! Vince takes the cockpit and executes a perfect loop (rosary in pocket for good luck), Erika rocks out on a barrel roll, and Jake successfully comple
Skill, concentration, and determination are generously displayed as Kalle and Oscar battle for the opportunity to wing walk. Kalle lands the part and Oscar is endearingly relieved. Meanwhile: Vince, Jake and Erika perform like Top Guns as they take turns behind the wheel of a little red jet. Finally, Kalle straps on a BI-plane and eats some clouds at ten thousand feet. After safe landings, the Road Rulers huddle around a payphone waiting for their next clue to ring in. Hello? Go to COCOMO? It's a gray, drizzling morning and we find Jake at a payphone complaining to his mommy that he and the cast are broke and food-free. As a solution to their empty tummies, Jake suggests a trip to KFC. Pulling in, Jake fails to notice the awning of the drive-thru is too low for Winnie clearance and - CRASH, BANG, BOOM! Kalle screams as Jake remodels the exterior of the restaurant. Another day, another few thousand dollars worth of damage. The cops let is slide and everyone eats to their heart's cont
Scott the photographer hands over a map that reveals the location of the next clue. Through the dark of night, Oscar, Jake, and Kalle race to X-marks-the-spot on a stretch of beach. Oscar unearths a glass jar filled with BEES and Kalle screams! Our fearless friends pile into their trusty left-handed jeep and head over to Otto's Bee Farm where hundreds, maybe thousands, of wood crates are piled and stacked all over the front yard. These crates are the little bee condos! Otto greets our brats, and it's handshakes all around. Otto is a gentle soul with a Caymanian accent so thick, you'll think you need an interpreter. Otto, clutching a little oil-can smoke machine, leads the nervous nellies over to a skyscraper of towering bee crates. He pumps the handle on his machine and explains that smoke keeps the bees away. Smoke gets in your eyes... Oscar takes control of the smoke machine as crazy glove-free Otto removes a frame from inside the top crate, explaining that this is where the ho
Everyone's little buddy, actor Bob Denver, rescues our cast from their three day tour on a food-free deserted island. Back on dry land, Denver hands over the next clue; message in a bottle. It's a note from Oscar's baby sister: come home to Puerto Rico! Oscar is wetting his pants as everyone boards the plane for that mythical land, Puerto Rico; where life is always perfect, right Oscar? We'll just see... The jet lands, and Oscar is the first to de-plane. He drops to his knees and kisses the ground. Well, the tarmac. Yuck. The kids pile into the Winne and motor over to Oscar's papy's pad. The large all-white home is in a swank gated community; very nice. Oscar's pops greets everyone at the front door and it's bear hugs all around. Erika notices that Oscar's father sounds just like him. So that's where he gets it... In the kitchen, Oscar points out all the delicious dishes that his step-mother has prepared for them. Makes you hungry lookin' at it. Oscar makes everyone smell the
The rulers receive another clue: a Barbie-sized life raft and a GPS (global positioning system) computer. Ready to ride a raging river? Using the miraculous GPS, the kids motor on over to the coordinates of their destination: it's an iron bridge erected over a wide river. A spunky Spanish-speaking man introduces himself as Rosano and explains that the cast will be building rafts and racing down the river - racing against each other, that is. The winner of the race will receive a gourmet meal served by your choice of lovely lady or buff boy. Sounds tasty.... The kiddies race down to the river's edge where they find inner tubes, bamboo logs, rope, and paint. They are allowed exactly 15 minutes to build their rafts. Ready, go! Times up! You have never seen such a pathetic collection of hodge-podged, thrown together, good-luck-pal rafts. These vehicles don't even look seaworthy! In fact, Kalle's could pass for a submarine. Get it? Sink? It's time for the race to begin. But first, a s
The Rulers get their next clue while lounging in the galley of the Lady Jane: sail to St. Lucia and help plan a wedding. Cutting through deep ocean waters, the boat and it's unprepared crew face a violent storm complete with tidal wave. It's Tarzan time as Vince takes the rope from the mast of the sailboat and uses it as a swinging vine - he flies out over the side of the boat and drops into the water. PLOP, splash, kewl! Now Kalle gives it a try, and as usual screams her head off, legs flailing in every direction. PLOP, splash, kewl! Hey, that looks fun. Next up, Oscar. He takes the rope and leaps off the side of the boat, screaming ""Puerto Ricoooooo...."" CRASH! Oscar you have to let go of the rope! But he didn't! Instead of dropping into the drink, he smashed into the side of the boat. He crumples to the deck in pain. Christian's first mate, SONJA, bandages up his toes. She jokes, ""you'll have to get those amputated."" Oscar's mouth falls open - he believed her for a second. The
Oscar breaks two toes in a tarzan escapade aboard the Lady Jane. He bravely hobbles through a traditional Creole Wedding that the Road Rules Gang planned and then, donning his Puerto Rican T-Shirt, hoofs it to the top of... A VOLCANO! It's one of those moments where you contemplate the meaning of life. The wind whips through your hair as you stand with your cast-mates at the edge of the volcano, looking down into the crater. Yes, we have to hike down inside now. Yes, we could die here. It's an ominous moment. Jake is really nervous: ""I've got fifty pounds on my back and Oscar has two broken toes!"" Erika instructs everyone to move an inch a minute. Vince leads the way and is quickly shimmying down the life-rope, calling up to the others a play-by-play of what to watch out for. Suddenly, he slips into a vertical ditch, nearly loosing hold of the life rope. He's quickly out of the hole and back on track, but this gets everyone's blood racing. Now it's hand-over-hand, foot-behind-foo
Our heroes make it through the night inside a volcano, and then head to Grenada. The mission: give advice for the lovelorn on a radio call-in show. The gang make a few friends, and a few enemies, before Jake's Dad calls and tells the kids to haul butt back to Philly. The Road Rulers pile into a waiting jet; destination Philadelphia. Erika reminds everyone we've had a fabulous seven weeks in the Caribbean, but enough is enough! Let's get back to the continent. En route, Jake whips out his laptop (that's a computer) and Kalle helps him create a college entrance essay. A smooth landing and Vince inhales crisp Philly air. No balmy breezes like Cayman, but that's OK. ""It's cold and we're in America!"" Land that I love... The tikes motor on over to Jake's parent's house. It's a kewl joint - an old warehouse turned into a funky living space. Of course, mom and pop are thrilled to see their young pup. Kalle is a little nervous as her potential-future-in-laws conduct a little prying; so wh
During the Knicks basketball game, the Road Rulers discover a clue as it is broadcast over the enormous digital score board. Now it's off to New York City for love in the afternoon! New York, New York. Our Road Rulers are spinning in delirium as they stroll through the impressive streets of the City-that-never-sleeps. Mirrored monoliths loom, reflecting clouds into infinity. This is the city where news and deals are made. This is the city where Kalle will hang her hat after fighting for her handsome reward. This is the island where Jake will kick it as he chases Kalle and follows his heart. Jake and Kalle take a late-night stroll over to the apartment building where Kalle will be living while attending classes. Kalle is thrilled that Jake will finally meet her best friend, Nicki. But she's also nervous. It's time to meet her new roommates - two girls Kalle has never laid eyes on! Up the elevator, in the door, and it's introductions all around. Everyone is kewl and it's all gonna
The last mission is a doozy: walk over hot coals... barefoot!! After a short training session the kids make their painful jog with ease! At the end of the fire walk the crew is given a last night together in luxurious Trump Tower. After a feast they find out about their handsome reward: a semester at sea! Erika begins to cry... she just wants to go home. The next day, some dry eyed and some teary eyed, the Road Rules Islands cast part ways to pursue their futures... a little wiser and a little older, and with a bundle of Island Memories
Fasten your seat belts - it's going to be a bumpy season! We've got a whole new gorgeous cast of six, count 'em, six fresh faces who are ready and willing to try anything - at least once. Think you've seen ROAD RULES before? You ain't seen nothing! This season, our highway to adventure takes some twists and turns that no one is expecting! Hey, this is supposed to be a new season - why the heck are Jake and Kalle on screen?! And why are they wearing camouflage? Oh - they still have one more mission to complete. It's a big one. Your favorite love-birds are traveling undercover to six different states armed with rope, blindfolds, and an industrial flashlight. Their mission? Kidnap five new Road Rulers so the new season can begin. Did we save five? Let's try an even half-dozen this year. First stop: Harlem, New York. Jake and Kalle bust into a fancy hotel and sneak into the grand ballroom where a senior prom is underway. There she is - get her! Jake and Kalle grab RONI and drag her,
My gosh - what's happened to the driver of the car that spun out of control?! Here comes an ambulance, lights flashing and siren wailing. They're pulling someone out of the car - it's Vince. He can walk - but his back hurts. The paramedics strap him onto the stretcher and slide him into the back of the ambulance. Erika runs across the track and jumps into the ambulance with Vince. Meanwhile, Tara has taken the lead away from Vince and - whoosh - she finishes first. The winner! Tara confesses she feels guilty for taking first place from Vince since he was injured. Dan privately confesses that he is very impressed with Tara's driving. And that's not all... Vince convinces the paramedics that his injuries aren't so bad - hey, I can walk just fine. Vince jumps out of the ambulance and everything is OK. Tara accepts her first place trophy and the Islands cast hits the road - good luck to everyone! Roni takes the wheel of the Winnie - now that she's driven a race car, she thinks she ca
It's a gorgeous, sunny morning and Noah is alone in his arc, stroking his instrument. That's right baby - he's in the Winnie strumming his guitar. And guess what? He's got rhythm! The boy is musically inclined. A warm breeze sneaks in the open door and tickles Noah's bare feet - it's so nice to have a few minutes to myself. Hey now! The rest of the gang piles into the Winnebago, ending Noah's pluck-fest. But he doesn't care - it's time to hook up with THIRD EYE BLIND - a band that Noah reminds everyone has ""really made it."" The Rulers motor on over to a fancy, hush-hush hotel and track down suite number 1716. Open the door and there they are - foxy band members Brad, O'Ryan, and Flipper. Flipper? Yeah, Flipper. He's not a dolphin - he just likes using an alias. You know those lead-singer types. Flipper lays out the plan: proceeds from tomorrow night's gig will benefit a teen suicide hotline at the local crisis center and you guys need to make a PSA that will play at the concert. What's
Look out the window - it's nature! The kids are off to Calgary and the scenery is just beautiful. Gorgeous mountains, flower-sprinkled country side - hey, there's a bear cub! Of course, our cast members are sprawled out and chatting, well below window level. You're missing the view... Noah's kickin' it on the couch and Anne is curled next to him, her head in his lap. She's playing with his hair, and he's letting her. He takes the opportunity to remind her, ""I really like girls."" What is Anne, a hermaphrodite? Over on the other couch, more cuddlin' is going down. Dan and Tara are shoulder to shoulder, nose to nose. Tara asks Dan, ""do you believe there's one perfect person out there for you?"" Can you say, soul mate? Dan is a believer, but he's afraid he'll never find his one-and-only. Dan, if you stick your tongue out you'll bump right into her... The Roadies pull off the main highway, deciding to spend the night at a comfy hotel - why kill ourselves trying to drive to Calgary in o
Noah is ordering the others around like a general trying to make sure no one gets killed. Anne reminds Noah ""you're not the boss of me"" as Jon threatens to throttle him!? Those rowdy Roadies are off to Regina, Canada to hook up with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The drive from Calgary isn't so smooth. The highway is fine - no potholes. The trouble is Jon and Noah. They've had just about enough of each other. Noah thinks that Jon just revels in being weird. Flipside, Jon believes that Noah never thinks before he speaks - he ends up hurting everyone's feelings. This tension is clearly compounded by the fact that Jon is dreading the Mounty Mission - ""it's cordial Military silliness"" - while Noah just can't wait to get in there and flash his badge. The Roadies roll into the RCMP compound, which looks like a tidy college campus. Except for those tidy rows of smartly dressed law-enforcement clones. Great hats. The mayor of the mission explains that the Rulers will be training with th
Jon's confidence in his own abilities squares and then cubes during a tour of duty with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Our Roadies pile into their roller-home, a bit disappointed to be leaving the marvelous Mounties, but panting to partake of a new mission. Jon takes the wheel as the others take a chill on the couches back yonder. Dan questions Jon: you claim to be athletically uninclined - does that mean sexually too? Jon brings that line of thinking to a screeching halt - no, no, no! Jon explains that he is very coordinated in sex. We're talking Twister Pro. Dan pushes further, ""what muscles do you use during sex?"" Jon says most important is the gluteus maximous - for thrusting. Noah grabs his guitar - that's right, it's song time! Is this the Salvador Dali ROAD RULES or what?! Noah strokes as Dan lets loose with a ditty about Jon's tight shorts that feature his butt and his big semi-truck. Hours of driving land the kiddies in NORTH DAKOTA. Have you ever been there? Me neither
Anne's fine sense of geometry sniffs out a triangle as the Roadies receive a clue that instructs them to visit Dan's hometown. The impending confrontation between Tara, Dan, and Rachel (Dan's ex-girlfriend), leaves everyone holding their breath. As per usual, Noah is at the wheel of the lovable old Winnie as it hurtles through the golden sunlight towards Minnesota - home of Paul Bunyan and Dan. Tara is smiling and laughing, but she can't completely hide her nervousness. She asks Dan, ""should we show your parents our bed - show them we sleep together?"" Dan surprises everyone when he explains that his father would be upset if Dan were sleeping alone. But Dan privately confesses that he is very apprehensive about Tara and Rachel finally finding each other face to face. Look at that house! It's LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, 1998. Perfectville. Norman Rockwell. Everyone piles out of la Win and Dan leads the way right into the waiting arms of his happy parents. It's hugs for everyone and come on
Anne must fore go fashion when a sprained ankle forces her to accessorize with a pair of crutches. The Roadies intercept a clue sending them to Platville, home of the Chicago Bears football team. All right, everybody get back and give her some room! Anne is sprawled out on the bed in the Winnie's living room. She's got ice-packs on her ankle and painkillers on her mind. Jon scoots onto the bed, trying to convince Anne that she looks cute. She doesn't feel cute. Jon bends down and gently kisses Anne's bare feet, over and over, while softly stroking her leg. Anne can only cover her eyes - with pleasure or disgust, we can't tell. Noah safely steers his crew to a delightful cabin in the middle of the woods. The little place overlooks a lake and there's a long dock just right for diving - or shoving. As the others swim and hike, Anne parks it on the shore - she's furious that she can't participate. Jon confesses, ""I feel miserable because I know Anne is so sad."" That night, Jon slips int
Dan is precariously perched on the fence that separates Rachel and Tara. Roni fears a slaughter is imminent when the Roadies receive a clue instructing them to ""bring home the bacon."" It's a gorgeous morning, and Tara and Anne are simply sitting on the sidewalk, soaking up some rays. Anne immediately starts to tease her pal, goading Tara to admit that she and Dan have fallen in love. But little T only smiles and giggles. Is that a yes? Everyone piles into the Winnie, and Tara and Noah settle on the couch and slip into a serious discussion. Tara quietly confesses that she felt like an ass while in Rachel's presence. Noah reminds Tara ""it's not your job to protect Rachel - that's Dan's job."" And besides, Noah continues, you shouldn't feel bad, because nothing has ""happened"" between you and Dan. Tara confesses that she and Dan finally kissed - just before arriving in Minneapolis. Perfect timing. The Roadies follow their clue to a feed mill where the proprietors, Barb and Mike, expla
Anne admits she has lost all hope of finding a brilliant, sexy dream man. A dead dummy delivers the next clue to the Roadrats - travel to the Emergency Room at Detroit Receiving Hospital, STAT! This week's show is not for the squeamish. If you get nauseous at the sight of a paper cut, you'd better watch this one from between the fingers of the hands that cover your face. Just when you thought ROAD RULES had reached a plateau of adventure and excess, along comes a mission that materializes as the most challenging ever... Lives are literally hanging in the balance as the Roadies roll through the dilapidated Detroit wasteland at five a.m. They arrive at Detroit Receiving Hospital, where they are immediately introduced to the local staff of residents and the chief of Surgery, DOCTOR D. Your mission? Spend 27 hours on duty as resident doctors. The Roadies fall silent at the intimidating order, but there's no time to consider alternatives (like how do I get out of this one?!) as the Ro
Noah's guilt over his hometown honey doesn't keep him from straying. Anne can't keep her groping hands off Doctor Tim. Have you ever seen the show American Bandstand? How about Soul Train? Remember Dance Fever? They're playing that one on cable again right now. All these shows have one thing in common: fabulous, glamorous, glittering dance numbers. This week's episode is nothing like those shows. After bidding Doctor Tim a teary farewell, the Roadies follow their next clue to Ridgeman Street in Toronto. At an imposing nightclub, they are greeted by MICHAEL, who explains the next mission: you have 24 hours to prepare for your performance as go-go dancers. Is that a nervous sweat, or just dance fever? The bootie-shakers-to-be follow Michael on a tour of the vast nightclub. There's a wide stage at one end of the dance floor. That's right, all eyes will be on you. Michael directs the sweet young things to the dressing room where buckets of costumes await their limbs. The Roadies s
Noah struggles to be a one-woman man instead of a two-faced cad. The Roadies catch a clue instructing them to 'get the puck out' in Montreal, Canada. When we last left you, Noah was swapping spit with a carnal Canadian cutie named Natasha. Guess what, Road hogs?! She's still on his mind... As sunlight slams through the small window in the Roadies' hostel suite, Noah lifts his guitar from the floor and strums thoughtfully. And now, an announcement!! Mr. N reveals that he can't decide if he's being dishonest with Rebecca (girlfriend) by dating Natasha (pick-up). Now, even a kid knows the right answer to that question. Dan privately admits that he's lost all respect for Naughty Noah. Without waiting for his Road-mates to roar ""do the right thing,"" Noah slips into the hallway and connects with Natasha via pay phone. Loverboy coos into the receiver, ""the hostel suite is very nice, but there's one thing wrong: you're not here."" Oh, brother. Noah, here are a few fresh pickup lines for you
Noah and Natasha part lips for good when the Roadies receive a clue sending them to Harlem, New York for a challenging photography mission. This week, when we say 'tension develops between cast members,' we really mean it! The Rulers roll into New York City and Roni is nearly bursting with anticipation -- ""we're 15 minutes away from my house!"" Roni confesses she's excited because her cast-mates will finally know the heart and soul of the real Roni when they meet her dance-troupe friends and her mother. The Roadies check into their tidy hostel suite and Anne immediately throws open the window. She leans out into the bustling city and screams, ""I want to rock!"" Excited to be in the Big Apple, Anne? Dan, on the other hand, is not excited. He privately confesses, ""I couldn't live like this every day."" The people! The noise! I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto... The Roadies unpack their bags and climb into the Winnie for a quick ride over to Roni's house. Soon, the Bago is ro
The Roadies receive a clue directing them to compete in the ROAD RULES Olympics in Lake Placid. It's three o'clock, and the Roadies are at the track of the Olympic Stadium, waiting for their mysterious competitors to show themselves. And here they come now! Hey, isn't that Eric from REAL WORLD - NEW YORK? And isn't that Rachel from REAL WORLD - SAN FRANCISCO? And Jon from L.A.? Cynthia from Miami? Sean from Boston? Yes, on all counts. These REAL WORLD superstars make up the cast of the REAL WORLD ALL STARS. Seems the two teams will be competing against each other in four events: the kayak, the luge, the ski jump, and figure skating. The winners receive medals, while the losers clean the Winnie! Unfortunately, Anne has been puking for three days straight, so she's off to the hospital, eliminated from the competition. Now go home and get some sleep, because tomorrow is a full day of practice. Motoring back to the hotel in the Winnie, Noah confesses that he finds Rachel very attract
The Lake Placid Olympic-style competition continues with Dan and Noah paired off against Sean and Cynthia in figure skating. Later, the gang climbs a mountain in search of their reward.
Meet Suzie, 18, from Pittsburgh, as she stands alone on a narrow bridge that overlooks a gorgeous waterfall on the island of Maui - that's Hawaii, you know. She's a blond cutie, and she's waiting to meet her travel mates. Speak of the devil. Here comes Shayne, 22, from Canada. He gets an eyeful of sweet Sue and privately confesses, ""My hormones are in full gear!"" Now Piggy, 25, from England you know lovie, strolls up with her backpack. She's got a wild mane of curly-cue hair and explains that her father named her Piggy because she popped out of the womb all pink and squealing like a pig. Isn't that… cute. And here comes Kefla, 23, a handsome African-American joker. Hello, Christina! She's 21, and an introspective hipster from LA. Five down, one to go. And here he is! Roadie number six is Chadwick, 24, from Colorado. He's a hunk of hunkiness. Now look - here come Dan and Tara - from the Northern Trail! You know what that's all about. Dan and Tara collect all the cash from the new crew a
The Roadies roll over to the Stonewall where they are greeted by a seven foot tall drag queen. Can you believe there is actually a man under there somewhere? It's mind boggling. Our diva explains the next mission: you will split into two teams and perform a drag review. The winner of this heat will perform in Sydney's Frocks on the Rocks gala - in front of 10,000 people! Can you say, Pricilla Queen of the Desert?! The boys are a little nervous about the prospect - especially Kefla. It's time to bend that gender! Chad confesses, ""I have no experience with gay culture. And Suzie explains, ""I've never been there!"" Well buckle up, because there's not turning back now… The Roadies stroll over to a local costume house, shopping for those new Frocks. While trying on a glittery jumpsuit, Kefla confesses, ""I don't want to do this too well, because then the guys will be asking for my phone number."" You think you're that good, huh Kefla? Shayne has found a fab outfit and wig, but no shoes - his f
You know the Winnie is difficult to maneuver. It's not like jumping behind the wheel of your Honda Civic. You've got to take those turns wide. And if you find your little bootie landing in Australia, and you find a Winnie waiting for you at the curb (packed with funtime gear) you'll quickly see that the steering wheel is on the right, while traffic flows on the left side of the street -- how's that for a brain teaser?! So you can certainly understand why we couldn't let the Road Rules cadets jump behind the wheel without checking out their skills first -- it's time for a driving test! Christina and Suzie are relegated to the back of the bus right off the bat -- these girls have no experience driving a stick, and this is not the place to learn. Kefla takes a nice turn behind the wheel, passing the test with flying colors. As do Chad and Shayne. Now it's time for la Pig. She's not doing too well. She's cursing. Luckily, no other cars are on the road. They must have heard she was comin
This week's episode begins with a Piggy pity party. We don't mean to be hard on Pig, but can it really be so bad traveling across a gorgeous country packed with adventures designed just for you? Maybe it can. She's on the phone in the lobby of the youth hostel, crying to her friend back home. ""They think I'm boring and I just don't understand them. And the girls are all so skinny. Christina is a rake and I'm thigh girl! I'm too sensitive for my own good."" Perhaps... Later in the day, Piggy and Susie hit the pavement for a little power walk. Piggy takes the opportunity to confess her dilemma - you guys are ostracizing me! Susie denies the accusation, but Piggy points out that most of the time she doesn't understand the American pop references the others all share. Susie reminds Piggy it's pretty impossible for them to explain everything -- and Piggy agrees. What to do, what to do... Meanwhile, Christina is feeling like she just drank a quart of bad milk. Shayne escorts her down the s
This week's mission takes the all-time cake for layers of complication. It's really one of our most creative missions ever. You're gonna love it... The Roadies motor on over to Brisbane where they park it in a sea-side trailer resort. The engine isn't even cool when the manager of the park brings Chadwick a letter. It's from Skye, his ex-girlfriend. Shayne suggests Chad read the ominous letter after dinner, but Chad ignores this suggestion and strolls away on his own, tearing at the envelope. Chad privately reveals the contents of the letter: Skye is mad at Chad for leaving her without saying goodbye - she feels Chad owes her something. Chad explains that Skye wanted marriage and a family and he couldn't offer here those things - not just yet anyway. Chad and Skye decided to separate from each other and meditate on the situation. But soon, Skye was dating other boys and Chad was devastated. Chad feels he owes Skye nothing. Later that night, Piggy tries to comfort Chad, reminding
A full moon illuminates the night as Kefla strolls into the Winnie and discovers the latest clue. Several issues of the ""Weekly World News"" are fanned out, each sporting an alien with an over-sized cranium on its cover. The headline states boldly, ""ROAD RULERS TO PROBE AUSSIE ALIEN ABDUCTEES!"" Further details indicate that the group's mission is to expose the abductees' intergalactic nightmare. Christina utters seductively, ""I love aliens."" Maybe we don't know everything about her. Shayne mentions that ""the group fund is pretty much squat."" They need cold hard cash, and they need it now! So off to Noosa Heads they go. A little navigating takes them to their latest stop, a lovely two story lodge where parrots will eat right from your hand. But we can't spend the day feeding wildlife, now can we? We have a mission to complete! The Rulers travel to the ""Weekly World News"" offices and are greeted by a member of the staff. He elaborates on their mission, ""We have some people here who hav
The group does a little Dolphin feeding. Christina even says goodbye to them in dolphin-speak. Something I won't even attempt to quote. On the ferry back, Piggy leans on the railing alone. Seems her biggest problem is with Christina. ""She trivializes things that I've said. It makes me feel sad."" Christina and Susie have a tough time dealing with the Piggy situation. After all, they both like her. Later on at a restaurant, a waitress serves up the next clue. Was that on the menu? Part of the clue states, ""It's so dark outside you might as well be blind."" Luckily, inside the box are Zippo lighters, each equipped with a mini-flashlight. I guess smokers tend to get lost. Outside, they locate an audio cassette. Playing it reveals they're going to be ""splash test dummies"". In other words... lifeguards! Time for a little mouth-to-mouth. Sounds cool, but that's tomorrow. We've still got the night to dance away! The Rulers visit a club where a youth-challenged woman hits on Kefla. His opi
The Rulers head to a club to check out a band. The music is pumping, the energy high, but Kefla sits with his back to the wall, purposely distancing himself from the others. After the show, the gang chats over a few glasses of wine. Her inhibition waning, Piggy tells Chad that he's ""very, very sexy."" Waiter, another bottle please. The mood is relaxed, pleasant. Once again though, Kefla decides not to partake. He explains, ""Being the only black traveling with five other whites, it's kind of hard. I can't be around my black people. I can't listen to the music I want to."" Chad tries to understand Kefla's growing disillusionment with the others, but refuses to show sympathy. He sees it as Kefla's issue to deal with, not his. Kefla takes solace in a phone call back home. ""I probably see one or two black people every seven hours."" He brings up Piggy and the fact that her mother's half-black. How does she deal with it? She states, ""I take the white advantages and reject the black disadvant
The Rulers go bowling! Kefla notices, ""Susie has changed over the trip tremendously. She's kind of breaking free of a lot of things her parents told her were wrong."" Christina adds the insight, ""I think I may have affected Susie a bit. She sort of looks to me for being strong."" Proving that those assessments are accurate, Susie steals a pair of bowling shoes. ""Christina calls my evolution on this trip a downward spiral."" Could this be the beginning of a crime wave... The following day, a cassette is discovered. Don't you love those things? This one states that the next mission ""can sink its teeth into you."" The Winnie departs for a crocodile farm. On the way, Piggy dyes the tips of Susie's pig tails red. Foreshadowing blood? They pull into the Koorana Croc Farm, a place that 3,000 croc's call home. Shayne starts to get nervous. ""I think I'll pee myself today…The other missions I've had an open mind…This is the only one that appears to me that it's not going to be fun."" Pulling to
Susie gets a tattoo and lets her behavior veer toward mischievous as she rolls along the downward spiral. Piggy manages to get an Australian driver's license. I wonder which of these occurrences is more dangerous... ""I don't know what got into Susie, but I kind of like it,"" remarks Piggy as the cast takes turns inspecting her new tattoo. After arriving at the hostel, Piggy and Susie take the Winnie for some gas while the others stay behind to chow down on free barbecue. Parking in front of a gas station, they're informed that they're going to have to wait about twenty minutes until the truck in front of them is done filling up. No problem, we'll just back the Winnie up and wait at the --- BANG! That sounded a lot like the Winnie backing into a car. Showcasing her grasp of the English language, Piggy blurts out, ""Oh f--k, f--k, f--k, f--k."" Exiting the Winnie, they discover the damage: a busted tail-light on someone's car. They find out that the owner of the vehicle works at the h
Susie reads the news that the last voyage in the Winnie will take place the next day. Time to gather up all belongings and turn in the keys. Shayne wonders, ""What are we going to do without the Winnie?"" Hmmm... ""It's kind of sad to say goodbye to the Winnie, because it's been our home for a long time,"" comments Christina. The Winnie is unloaded and one last picture is snapped. That night, a manila envelope is delivered containing airline tickets to Melbourne. Also in the package is the next clue, stating ""Get your kicks playing Aussie Rules Football with the mystery six."" A bewildered Christina admits, ""I have no idea what Aussie Rules Football could even be."" Arriving in the beautiful city of Melbourne, they travel to Xavier college and meet Shane: professional football star and their coach for the upcoming game. Piggy is immediately smitten, ""Shane is really good looking. He's beautiful."" Wait a second, let's back up for a moment…what game? The Road Rules / Aussie Rules Challen
Susie and Piggy vie for the attention of Shane, their ""babe-licious"" coach. The competition for the big game turns out to be the Road Rules All-Stars: Chris, Belou, Emily, Oscar, Dan, and Roni. Football in Australia. Relentless, violent, and the current mission for Road Rules Six. Under a scorching sun, the two teams collide. But before we dive into game specifics, let's go over the fundamental rules of the game: when running with the ball, the player must touch it to the ground every ten meters. If you catch the ball, you can stop and take a free kick or run with it. Most importantly, though, when you kick it between the two big sticks, it's six points. Got it? Okay, let's get back to the game... Running, passing, and kicking, both teams are eager to claim the championship trophies. Kefla tackles Dan fiercely while Coach Shane shouts from the sideline. Though vociferous with the others, Shane quiets down when fine-tuning Susie's game. She comments, ""Take one look into those baby
Susie survives flirt-mania and a bit of kissing with Coach Shane. The closeness of the All-Stars has Christina contemplating the future of her own cast. ""It's making me look at my group and wonder if we're going to be like that."" Over lunch, the girls discuss the Coach Shane situation. Susie fondly recalls, ""Did you hear him say, 'Do you want me to run you a bath?'…Don't even kid me."" The reality of their departure hits Susie, ""Oh my God! I don't want to leave. I'm not leaving!"" Sorry, Susie, you're in this thing until the end. That's another thing bugging her. The trip is actually coming to an end. ""I'm very sad about leaving everyone. I really don't want to leave these five people."" At the hostel, Susie asks the other Shayne if he'll miss her. ""When you're gone, I'll probably just cry a lot."" Joking or not, at least he's showing some emotion. Kefla is being his typical self: withdrawn and quiet, something that adds to Christina's growing frustration, ""I just feel like our boys
Holly is the first Roadie to enter the Bullring in Chihauhua, Mexico. She's followed by Abe, Gladys, Brian, Joshua and finally Sarah. Piggy (RR6) pulls up in a white VW convertible and takes their cash and credit cards, then a matador arrives and tells the group that they are going to ""face their fears"". He tells them that they must get the keys to the Woodie from the neck of the beast. Everyone looks really nervous as they are shown the infimary, suit up, and are instructed in the art of bullfighting. As they wait for the bulls, Gladys prays ""please let toro be little"" while Brian crosses himself. Gladys laments ""I don't wanna die in Mexico""! But, as the bulls rage in their pens and the Roadies quake in their boots, a pack of 50 ""wild"" chihuahuas are released into the ring. As our heroes chase these vicious ankle biters, Joshua is bitten by a particularly nasty little fellow. Undeterred, Brian states, ""I'm definitely not walking out of here without that key"". The chase continues unt
Picking up where the last episode ended, the Roadies are preparing for the big race. Skip explains the Raramuri's ideals and mysticism to the group, who are ""knocked out"" by their ""intangible"" value system. They learn that they are going to be running against the oldest members of the tribe, but these people get stronger as they get older! They learn that they will earn the respect of the Raramuri by doing their best and that losing the ball will disqualify them. But, as they practice kicking it, they realize they're in serious trouble! ""Holly runs 10 miles every day, so she's pretty good to go,"" Brian says, but the rest are nervous about the distance. Sarah is ""pumped, I'm ready to do as many as we can as a group. I wanna make everybody proud of the Gringos!"" Holly, Brian and Sarah run Lap 1 without a hitch, however, Gladys says ""they're blowing us away"" and Holly notes ""there's no way we're gonna beat them at their own race!"" For Lap 2, Holly is joined by Gladys and Joshua, who says
On the road from Copper Canyon to Durango, Gladys tells the group about her family's penchant for witchcraft! This intrigues Abe, who realizes that they have the most in common within the group. Gladys continues and tells them about her abortion, which she says was ""the worst experience I've ever gone through in my life."" They get a clue from the parking attendant at their motel to meet Fernando at noon the next day. Meanwhile, Abe learns that his father is very ill and he frantically tries to reach someone at home to find out about his condition. It turns out that Gladys and Abe have been hanging out quite a bit and sleeping together, in the same bed at least! The Roadies arrive at The Buffalo Bar in Villa de Oeste at high noon and see a clue in the street. It says ""ACTION"", and as they read it aloud, an old west scene begins to unfold around them, complete with a bank robbery, lots of shooting and general mayhem! The cast finds Fernando and learns that the mission is to make a 6 m
On the road again, Abe finds out his Dad is getting better and tells Holly what it was like growing up on welfare. Because he was so preoccupied by his father's illness and didn't do much during filming, Abe also designs some nice end credits. Holly feels she is beginning to understand him better and everything seems to be settling down. The Roadies still can't believe their movie is going to be shown at a film festival and think they're in big trouble. Gladys is laid up with Montezuma's Revenge when they arrive in San Miguel de Allende, an atypical and artsy pueblo, according to Peter, who gives them credentials for the festival. They meet him the next morning to help promotethe festival and get new walkie talkies. While roaming around the town, Brian meets Sylvia who owns a furniture store. He takes some time off to hang out with her, but worries about cheating on his girlfriend back home. Later they all meet with Dmitri, who will be playing the soundtrack on a piano during the sc
The Roadies are totally fed up with Menudo's lack of housebreaking and are about to sell him to a crazy old lady at the trailer park. But Abe loves the little guy and refuses to part with him. Menudo seems to understand and is a lot friendlier with the rest of the group after his close call. They arrive at Rancho Trueba, outside of San Miguel de Allende and are told they must learn to bullfight and compete among themselves to become real matadors. There will be no Chihuahuas in the ring this time and they are all a little nervous as they begin their training. The girls seem to be the most adept at it and Josh is by far the worst, but he tries the hardest to improve: he really wants to fight the bull! After watching some videotaped bullring action, the cast realizes how dangerous this mission is and how serious bullfighting can be The girls are bonding over their respective ex boyfriends, as Sarah says "" all of us have 'em and they're all some gruesome stories."" Back in training, the ga
In Veracruz, Holly says that ""the whole Abe situation is slowly getting easier"" and that the friendships they are forming should teach him a lot about women. Their next mission is a watercraft competition against the RR Australia Cast and the prize is tickets to the next MTV Video Awards! As the competition begins, RR7 beats RR6 in the first race, but the Aussie Cast takes the second event. Meanwhile, Suzie and Menudo are bonding and Abe wishes he could trade places with his little buddy! As things start to heat up between Abe and Suzie, Gladys doesn't like it at all: she worries that he'll take advantage of Suzie, but it seems more like Gladys is jealous of her. Back at the beach, the final event is the ""Pinata Bash"" and the Australia Cast wins the competition and the MTV tickets! Abe is glad that they had won the tickets, he's glad RR6 won them because now Suzie will be in LA when he gets home. Later, both casts fool around in the hotel pool and then have dinner. After margaritas
Gladys has just punched Abe in the face for insulting her after she teased him about his one-night affair with Susie from Road Rules, Australia. Abe threatens Gladys that she'll have to leave the trip because she assaulted him. The rest of the group is stunned by the fight, and they wrestle with how to deal with the situation. Road Rules Producer Clay Newbill lowers the boom: because Gladys violated the conditions of the contract prohibiting physical violence, Gladys must pack her bags and be sent home. The news devastates Holly and Sarah, who blame Abe for taking Gladys away from them. Abe spends the rest of the day alone while the other Roadies bid Gladys a tearful good-bye.
It is the day after Gladys' departure, and Abe is still very much on the outs with the group, but the missions continue. The Roadies head out to sea with comedian Tom Arnold for a deep sea fishing contest: he will award prizes for the biggest fish and smallest fish. But the fish aren't biting today, and the calm water gives the cast plenty of time to reflect on Gladys and what her absence will mean to each of them. Brian finally catches a small grouper—the only catch of the day—and they head back to shore. At dinner Tom acts as the referee in a discussion about Abe's responsibility in the Gladys situation. It's pretty clear that Holly and Sarah still hold a lot of animosity towards Abe, and he's not exactly apologizing for anything. Realizing that the rest of the trip will be uncomfortable if she doesn't reconcile her feelings in this matter, Holly has a one-on-one talk with Abe. Does he finally understand the profound role he played in disrupting the group's balance? Will Holly ever a
Brian and Josh try to steer Abe away from complete isolation as Holly and Sarah try to overcome their anger at Gladys' departure. The Roadies' next clue sends them to Mexico City, where they write and perform a song with the Mexican rock band, Molotov. After a night of drinking, Abe confesses his regrets about how he dealt with Gladys and resolves to redeem himself by trying to get her back. Meanwhile, the show must go on, and the Road Rulers take to the stage at the Hard Rock Café in front of a thousand screaming fans. With Molotov backing them, the Roadies treat the crowd to their song, ""Strangers in a Strange Land."" The next day, Abe finds out that his efforts were in vain: Gladys will not be rejoining them. The cast is disappointed, but they realize that they need to get past everything that happened in Veracruz and move on as a group. from MTV.com
The Roadies rise early in Mexico City and receive a clue in their room at the Hotel del Angel -- meet Helen at the Mexico City dump. The dump meets or exceeds our heroes' worst expectations, but they are quickly distracted by the appearance of a motorcycle gang wearing dust-masks -- Helen and her crew! Helen explains that the gang makes a living by recycling what the rest of Mexico City throws out, and each of the cast pairs up with a member of the group to collect materials. It's disgusting at first, but the cast learns how to turn ordinary trash into fascinating art and practical household items, and they discover that people can be happy and healthy even if they live at the dump. After they clean up, the Roadies motor south, headed for Belize. During the drive, it's clear that Holly is beginning to warm up to Abe again. That night, Abe sets up the tent for he and Holly while Sarah, Joshua, and Brian sleep in the Woodee. from MTV.com
The Roadies motor to the wild jungles of Belize where Abe's small campfire turns into a towering inferno during a camp out in Lamanai. The next day the group meets Dr. Steve, a zoo curator, who is doing some research on and collecting of small, cute, fuzzy things: Tarantulas. Holly and the rest of the group must overcome their fears and learn to safely handle and capture these fascinating creatures. After the brief training they head out to the Savannah to look for a new and unclassified species of spider. With the Roadies good luck, it looks like they've found not only one but two spiders that have never been seen before. As the group tags some tarantula holes for later in the evening, Abe, armed with a huge machete, heads through the forest chopping down everything in his path. Later that evening, the Roadies head out into the jungle again to find some elusive rare Tarantulas that they must capture by hand. Armed with a piece of grass and a crushed cigarette box, they lure and captur
The Roadies motor out of the jungles of Belize and head for the crystal clear waters of Cancun, where an underwater mission has them ""bobbing"" for clues. At the bottom of the ocean, the group is shocked to find out that they are headed to beautiful Costa Rica. It's time for a celebration, and party boys Joshua and Brian hit the town for an evening of hair braiding, booze and bungee jumping! The next day finds Brian engulfed by an awful hangover, but his roadmates rally and get him on the plane to Costa Rica. In San Jose, the Roadies pair off and team up with local dance students to learn Swing Criollo. They show off their new skills in a dance competition at a large nightclub. When the music stops, Joshua and his partner are swinging to the tune of 200 bucks, American! The next day, as Brian begins to distance himself from the group, the Rulers plot a course for the crashing surf of Jaco Beach. from MTV.com
The Roadies motor to North Beach for a friendly competition of sand castle building. Upset that they are not at the beach to surf, Abe loses his cool and sculpts ""this mission sucks"" into the sand and sits and sulks. Josh and Sarah decide to team up and build a pierced nose as homage to their piercings. But in the end, Brian's ""Mayan Ruins"" gets him the prize. The rest of the day is devoted to surf kayaking, battle of the sexes style. Simple rules: whoever can catch the best four waves will win the prize. Abe, finally in his element, is pitted against Sarah in the final round. Sarah rides the biggest wave of the day but Abe walks away with the big prize. An elated Abe feels sorry for the way he acted earlier. The next day, while the Roadies are out looking for clues to their next mission, a renegade sneaks in and dognaps Menudo. Abe takes this as a personal attack, and the Roadies regroup to decide their next move. from MTV.com
As their Latin America tour comes to the end, there is no time for slacking! Not only have the revengeful Renegades seized the gang's handsome reward, but they've also kidnapped their dog, Menudo. The note left behind claims that the dog is just the first to go, and the rest will go down soon. Poor Abe is taking all of this personally. First, he's accused of ""hacking"" and then his barking buddy is dognapped? He considers this an act of war! Just as the Road Rulers are about to give up, two mystery men named Hawk and Mike arrive to save the day. They are going to turn our Road Rulers into fearless mercenaries so they can recover their reward and Menudo. Nervous but excited, the group is blindfolded, bringing back memories of how their journey began. They are then loaded into the back of a truck and transported to a remote jungle location. Removing their blindfolds, the Road Rulers silently trek through the snake filled jungle to an old thatched hut where they get a crash course in how t
When we last saw Josh, Holly, and Sarah at the top of Snake Island waiting for the helicopter, a Renegade was running towards them. Will they get caught and say ""buh-bye"" to everything they've worked for? What is the handsome reward? Where have the Renegades taken the captured Abe and Brian and the dognapped Menudo? Can this really be their last mission? It's time to find out in the exciting conclusion of Road Rules Latin America!!! As the Renegade makes a grab for Holly, she's worked too hard to give up now. She holds on to her red flag while Sarah banishes him with an ""I see you!"" Finally the chopper arrives and Josh, Sarah, and Holly jump on board as a band of Renegades make a final run for them. But it's too late -- our triumphant threesome is safe in the air and on the way to their handsome reward. Once they land, they run to their captured comrades sitting next to a large camouflaged mound and free Abe, Brian, and little Menudo from their blindfolds and bindings. Wasting no time,
Colin from Real World Hawaii who was suppose to be a ""reject"" interviews and introduces the new cast for Real World Hawaii and Road Rules Semester at Sea.
Piggy from Road Rules Australia told MTV she wanted to host her own show someday. It looks like she got her lucky break. She had to travel to Hong Kong, where the Semester at Sea boat was docked. She had to find out the scoop on the new cast members and record her findings on 4 half-hour tapes. She searched the whole ship, but she could not find any cast members. She eventually snuck into their bedrooms and found bits and pieces out about each one. These clues were not enough. Then she found a clue to a mission involving Dragon Boats. She went to where the mission was being held and finally found the cast members. Just as she was about to expose them, the tape ran out and she had to go home to the states defeated. Back home, she devised a new way to tell America about the new cast: She knew who they were, so she drew pictures of the cast and told a short story about each person. The special concluded with about 30 seconds of footage from the new season.
The missions begin. The Road Rulers receive their first clue from their homes via telephone. They are told to meet at Million Air airport in Nassau, Bahamas. Anticipation is high as the six wonder what's in store for them. The cast arrive at the airport and as is tradition someone has been sent to collect the Road Ruler's cash and credit cards. Larry from Halo Holdings is the man who has been appointed the task. After gathering their valuables he takes them right into their first mission. Larry explains that he must get the cast to a small island called Sandy Cay. The only problem is there is no runway, so the cast must skydive. Everyone screams, but Ayanna freaks. Ayanna drops to her knees, laughing and overwhelmed with emotion. The kids stride onto the runway and climb into the plane. The plane rises into the air. Its time. Pua starts to sing Amazing Grace as Ayanna prays. They make their way to the edge of the plane and one by one they take the plunge. Upon reaching the ground
Where's the bond? And we're not talking about James Bond. Shawn, Veronica, and Pua openly discuss how this group hasn't made an effort to get to know each other. The point is proven further when Ayanna avoids their conversation by fleeing the scene. The six Road Rulers have already begun to establish separate social circles. Oy!! This season the Road Rulers must face the biggest challenge of all; school. Yes is admittedly having trouble getting himself to class. The social atmosphere is a little too enticing and staying up till the sun rises every morning doesn't allow him enough time to sleep and god forbid get to class. We all know how it is; it's tough. Unfortunately for Yes, his roommates aren't that understanding of his party lifestyle, especially when he decides to bring the party back to the cabin. As Yes defines it, ""Its the perfect party pad"". When the next day rolls around Ayanna and Shawn have a few words for the Yes man. However, this time its no's all around. Ayanna
School is finally becoming a reality for the six. Westward ho! The Road Rulers discover one of the major set backs of maritime (on a ship) travel. Due to the crossing of time zones the magnificent six find themselves in the perpetual hell of daylight savings, where springing forward and losing an hour of sleep becomes a daily ritual. Sucks to be Ayanna and Pua when they both forget to reset their clocks the night before the first CORE exam, thus making them an hour late. (CORE is a mandatory cultural studies class that teaches students about the countries they'll be visiting.) Talk about surprises! Certainly not one that the two clueless rulers were ready to face. Oh well, life goes on and so do the exams. Yes, who has been to the class less times than the U.S. has landed on the moon, got the best score out of all six. Needless to say, this didn't make the rest of the group happy. Ayanna makes a call home to say hi and receives the unfortunate news that her mother has had a recur
South Africa: here comes the motherland. Ayanna bears the weight of generations on her shoulders to represent her people. She feels that she isn't ""African enough"" and will be rejected by the people of Africa. Finally, she realizes she is indeed ""home"" in Africa. As Shawn nears South Africa, he changes from a playful, carefree man, unaware of his ancestral significance, to a very aware black man stepping into an Afrikaner home. Their mission is to learn about South African culture from 3 different perspectives: Black, Muslim, and Afrikaner. The Rulers split up into 3 groups of 2 and spend the night with these diverse families. After experiencing South African lifestyle firsthand, they return to the ship and present their information to their classmates. Yes questions, ""How are we going to put these feelings into words?"" Stayed tuned next week to find out what happens in this heartwarming two-part episode. from BMP.com
Shawn is determined to assert himself as an individual rather than a black person. He begins to experience racism and gain further insight into what it means to be a black man in South Africa. It's all about Pawel. Everyone in the cast wants to know what's going on with him. Shawn thinks it's time for Pawel to drop his facade and put the masks away. A distraught Pawel finds his overwhelming need to please everyone backfiring on him. The cast isn't interested in hearing his super fluff anymore; they want the real Pawel. Like a trooper, Pawel takes the criticism, questions himself, and lays it out on the table, ""I never really claimed to know who I am, I feel like I'm finally getting a taste, an image of who Pawel, Pavo is."" from BMP.com
The question is, does Ayanna practice Voodoo or not? That's what the rest of the Road Rulers want to find out after coming back to the room and finding powder sprinkled all over her bed along 3 neatly placed matches that supposedly represented Veronica, Pua, and their friend Annie. ""Its your last chance,"" warns Ayanna to the 3 girls. Finally, the cast has it out in a group confrontation or shall we say Ayanna versus everyone else. (Talk about being the scapegoat) She's certainly up against some stiff competition. Find out what happens in this two-part episode next week. from BMP.com
Now kiss and make-up. Ayanna and Veronica may not see eye to eye when it comes down to business but at least they understand each other now. After the Rulers meet with their mediator, Prof. Dennis Waring the cast puts their feelings of pain and anger aside to accomplish their next mission, building a power plant to light up a Dalit Village. There is no power, no running water, and worst of all, no air conditioning. When it gets dark the only thing you can see is the stars in the sky. The travail of the cast working in the unsanitary conditions of India finally pays off when they are able to light up not only the village but the faces of all the men, women, and children in the community. A good deed for a good cause from BMP.com
On the heels of the Dalit solar power mission, Pua believes that she will return to India as a member of the Peace Corps. The rulers show up for their next mission. Low and behold it's to teach elephants how to paint. They are coached by an expert in Elephant painting, world-renowned Russian artist Alex Melamid. Hours into the mission Pua witnesses animal abuse by a Mahout at which time her dreams and aspirations are called into question. In the end, Pua decides that she is an animal rights activist and will continue to help animals throughout her life. from BMP.com

Love is in the air as the Road Rulers drop anchor in the port of Malaysia. After receiving their clue, the kids journey to a lush wildlife preserve, where they spend an exhausting day feeding and caring for the center's numerous animals. The comical orangutans are particularly endearing, and warm-hearted Pua is especially smitten. Meanwhile, Yes soul-searches as he finds himself stuck in a sticky love triangle. Two S.A.S. girls are vying for his affection, and he must make a difficult choice. Afraid of being vulnerable, Yes continuously struggles to protect his guarded heart. His predicament becomes even more of a battle when one of the girls proves to be exceptionally intriguing. Eventually, Yes' emotions overwhelm him. He surrenders by making a
Lace up those tennies, because it's race time! After disembarking in Vietnam, the gang scurries to face a challenging three-part mission. During the first leg of the competition, the Roadies must carry baskets of fruit across a countryside course. Easy, you say? Think again. Transporting a twenty-pound load over a flimsy footbridge, across a murky river and through a bustling street is no simple task - especially when you're relying on antiquated bicycles, wobbly canoes and an equally-exhausted teammate to get you there. With some good-natured rivalry, the Road Rulers quickly pair up and speed off. Teamwork spells victory for Yes and Veronica, who are the first duo to cross the finish line. Round two calls for a unique shopping trip through an authentic open-air market. Putting their queasiness at bay, the troopers dutifully check the required chicken heads, pig tails and frog legs off their lists. But the fun's not over yet. The kids soon learn that they must not only fork over
Put away those piggy banks, because the Road Rulers aren't pinching pennies anymore. Following their clue, the group heads to the Christina Noble Children's Center, an orphanage for sick and abandoned Vietnamese kids. Touring the overcrowded nursery and playground, the emotional Road Rulers immediately bond with the many children, sharing smiles and hugs. Noticeably pained, Paul is particularly shaken by a helpless young victim of Agent Orange. Shortly thereafter, the Roadies get their dream-come-true mission: They must use 12 million dong (roughly $864) in twelve hours to earn a comparable monetary gift for the Children's Center. With money in their pockets and charity on their minds, the newly-wealthy gang sets off for a serious shopping spree. But hold on there, big spender. This mission isn't child's play. There are a few restrictions that accompany that wad of cash. The anxious Road Rulers soon learn that they can't buy any items to take home and must only pay the going rate
Put aside your tanning oil and pick up a trusty number two pencil instead, because this floating university means business. After weeks of carelessly wading through their classes, Yes, Ayanna and Veronica suddenly find themselves adrift without a lifesaver. Unexpectedly confronted by a panel of questioning professors, the threesome must quickly account for their slacking studies. Yes and Veronica cover their tracks with promises of improvement, but Ayanna's excuse is much more revealing. She is stalwartly boycotting her African History course because she believes her teacher made an offensive remark. Taking headstrong Ayanna aside, a dean encourages her to view the dilemma in a different light. Shedding a few tears, she acknowledges his advice and decides to re-think the situation. As for Yes, his leash may be looser, but he's not out of the doghouse quite yet. During a random room search, he gets caught red-handed with an illegal stash of liquor. Realizing he's beyond busted, Yes b
The penned-up Road Rulers come down with a serious case of sexual frustration when cabin fever hits a boiling point this week. Plagued by their lackluster shipboard love lives, the restless kids finally unleash their yearnings, exchanging suggestive banter and playful embraces. Harmless fun, you say? Indeed it is, except for emotionally-stalted Yes, who is apprehensive about taking his frequent flirtation with Alissa to the next level. But sexual tension isn't the only pressure point for our intrepid travelers. A political crisis is raging in Kosovo, and reports from home inform the students of NATO's accidental bombing of the Chinese Embassy. The news is serious, but being at sea has created a false sense of security with the gang. As the boat slices its way towards China, the apathetic Roadies' biggest worry is getting Coppertone-worthy tans. However, the group becomes much more unsettled once the S.S. Universe Explorer actually docks in Shanghai. A distinctly anti-American atmosp
Tokyo - a center of trade, technology, tourism and.'toons? Apparently so. As the Universe Explorer nuzzles into port, the Road Rulers are nestled inside their cabin, clue in hand. With enthusiastic cheers and hollers, the kids celebrate as they learn that they will be taking part in an authentic Japanese animated feature. Anticipating their forthcoming mission, the smiling travelers hustle to meet their mayors, Yugi and Jonathan, who will be directing the cartoon. Ushered inside a bustling office, the Roadies are given an overview of the tedious animation process. But we're not talking a few machine-replicated Crayola sketches here. This intensive procedure involves thousands of cells, painstakingly colored and reproduced by hand. Yes, an artist himself, is particularly awed by the strenuous effort it takes to produce an entire ""Animae."" Time is money, and the mayors remind them of that as they instruct the Rulers to write their own script to accompany a currently plot-less Animae.
So maybe they'll pass on the matching ""friends forever"" necklaces, but the constantly quibbling duo of Veronica and Ayanna are taking baby steps in the right direction. As the ship begins her voyage homeward this week, the girls finally call a truce and pledge to make a fresh start. This clean slate delights the rest of the gang, who long ago tired of the daily dose of squabbles and negativity. And the timing couldn't be better! As the Rulers discover in their clue, teamwork will decide the success or failure of their next mission. Weeks without a paycheck have left the cash-strapped Roadies making collect calls to Daddy Warbucks. But this challenge could significantly deepen those threadbare pockets. If the kids can efficiently work together, they can make a substantial amount of money running their own shipboard beauty parlor. Lured by promises of free haircuts, manicures and dye jobs, a large crowd of equally-broke students begin to clutter the hallways. The day is long, but t
When we last left the Roadies, a hesitant Pua had asked for a word with her extremely-uncomfortable cast mate, Veronica. With a deeply-drawn breath, Pua reveals that she discovered her missing halter top hidden amongst Veronica's belongings. Holding back her tears, Pua admits that she feels terrible about looking through Veronica's property, but she had an unsettling hunch that her roomie was lying. Veronica, her mouth agape with disbelief, repeatedly denies the allegation, slyly pointing the accusatory finger back at Pua for being a snoop. Her downcast eyes begging for truth, Pua makes one final plea for Veronica to be honest, but her grimacing cast mate won't budge. But Veronica isn't the only Roadie facing an inquisition. Falling prey to another surprise administrative attack, Yes must take the stand against two of the ship's deans. Concerned that he may be slacking in his homework, they firmly encourage him to get out of the social scene and into the books. Before leaving, Yes g
Past Real World and Road Rules Cast Mates interview and determine the final cast for Real World New Orleans and Road Rules Maximum Velocity Tour.
One by one, Msaada, Theo, Holly, James, Laterrian, and Kathryn arrive to the desert location in Sedona, Arizona where the ""Maximum Velocity Tour"" begins. Inside their motor home, they are greeted by ""The Road Master."" The first mission toward winning the maximum prize of $100,000 requires every team member to walk across a tightrope that is attached to two hot air balloons. All six face their fears and complete the mission successfully. Theo feels distant from the group while Holly and James develop a pattern of flirtation. The second mission takes place in Flagstaff, Arizona, where the Road Rulers must test the following two products among students on a college campus: a breast enhancer and a penis pump. On to Provo, Utah where Holly, Msaada, and Kathryn get jealous when the boys invite girls from the gym to a hot tub party at the hotel.
Olympic Gold Metal Winner Picabo Street explains that Mission #2 involves a ski competition between the Road Rules team and a team of contest winners picked by MTV.com. Both teams demonstrate early on that they are not there to make friends with one another. Holly's personality clashes with the MTV.com team, as well as the guys on the Road Rules team, as both teams practice for competition day. The night before the competition, Laterrian chooses to hang out with the MTV.com girls, which is not cool with the rest of the Road Rules team. Meanwhile, Kathryn and Holly continue to express their strong dislike for the MTV.com girls.
Competition day arrives and the Road Rules team will try to stop the MTV.com team from taking their prize money. Tension continues to build between Holly and the MTV.com girls. Road Rules wins the bobsled race and MTV.com wins the ski jump event, Holly and Msaada prepare to gain another win for the Road Rules team with the skeleton race. After losing the skeleton race event, Holly breaks down in tears. She feels that the competition has been ruined for her because of the behavior of the MTV.com-ers towards her. The final event is worth three points, and Road Rules pulls together as a team to win the speed skating race as well as the prize money from the MTV.com team.
The next mission brings the Road Rules team to New Orleans where they will help Sloan, a teenage cancer patient, fulfill his wish: to take part in a Road Rules mission. Sloan explains to the Road Rules team that they must steal the Real World dog from their house in New Orleans, photograph the Road Rules team with the dog, and send the pictures to the Real World house all within ten hours. With the help of Sloan and his mom, Msaada and Theo enter Belfort Mansion using the story that it is Sloan's wish to meet the Real World cast and see their house. While Msaada, Theo, Sloan, and his mom are out to lunch with the Real World cast, James and Laterrian sneak through a back door and steal Shorty, the mechanical dog. After Matt realizes that Shorty is missing, he finds the disk that contains a message from the Road Master revealing that the Road Rules team is responsible for his disappearance. The Road Rules team completes the last part of the mission, which is to take photographs in front
The Road Rulers wake up at 6:30 a.m. to find several policemen knocking at their door motor home and instructing them to get dressed and exit the motor home immediately. The mission requires that the Road Rulers act as escaped fugitives while being followed by policemen and police dogs. The objective is for one team out of three to reach the watchtower without being caught. Holly and James are the first ones to be stopped by the police. Theo and Msaada are the next to get caught next as they try to make a run for the tower. Laterrian and Kathryn try to decrease their chances of being caught by cutting off their bright orange outfits. They do get caught, though, resulting in the first unsuccessful mission for the Road Rules team.
The night before Valentine's Day, Kathryn and Laterrian surprise their fellow cast members by leaving the dinner table and going into the restroom together. The next morning at breakfast, Kathryn receives a surprise visit from her boyfriend Reid. Kathryn discusses the rumors of her ""alleged affair with Laterrian"" with both Reid and Laterrian. The next mission gives the Road Rulers a taste of parenthood, which requires them to baby-sit a large number of toddlers for a day. Theo confronts Kathryn on her dishonesty about her relationship with Laterrian.
Kathryn breaks into tears as she tells her mom that she is considering leaving the show due to her relationship with Laterrian and the reactions of her teammates. The next mission requires the Road Rules team to compete against the Playboy Extreme Team in a synchronized swimming event. The night before the competition the Road Rules team is having trouble with team morale because of problems between Laterrian and Kathryn. The entire cast ends up in a heated discussion about what really went on between Laterrian and Kathryn. After admitting that she lied about her fling with Laterrian, Kathryn makes peace with her teammates and decides to stay on the show. The Road Rules team enjoys success in their synchronized swimming competition against the Playboy Extreme Team.
The Road Rulers head into Louisiana, where Theo will visit his hometown along with girlfriend Mandy. The next mission requires the Road Rulers to fly Powerchute planes in which each cast member will throw paint-filled condoms at a bull's eye target on the ground. Already terrified from a fear of flying, Kathryn becomes even more scared as she loses communication with the ground crew while on her flight. Msaada wins the competition as she was the only cast member to hit the target. Theo takes some time out to visit his brother in rehab. Theo spends some quality time with Mandy and realizes that he needs to be more honest and faithful to her.
Theo explains to Msaada that he left home as a teenager and has not seen his mother in over a year. The Road Rulers get a big surprise in the next mission as they're each greeted by one of their parents, who came to participate in a game show called ""Parent Trap."" The object of the game is to find out how much each parent and child knows about one another. The parents are skeptical about the final portion of the game, which requires them to bungee-jump tandem style with their children. One by one, each of the teams successfully jumps a free-fall distance of 70 feet. Theo is glad that he had the opportunity to spend some time with his mother and hopes to mend their relationship in the future.
James tells Theo about his dislike for the girls in the group and his difficulty in dealing with traveling in the RV with people he doesn't get along with. The next mission brings the Road Rulers to Augusta where they are greeted by an arena full of monster trucks. The Road Rulers must compete against a team of fraternity and sorority members from Georgia in several events involving monster trucks. After three events, the two teams are tied and the level of competition continues to grow. In the final event, James races a monster truck aggressively over four feet of bumps, beating the other team, but damaging the truck. The referee decides to disqualify James' win because of the damage caused to the truck, giving the Greek team the overall $6000 win in the competition.
The Road Rulers head into Key West, FL where they learn that their next mission requires them to go deep sea diving. One by one, each Road Ruler completes one free dive to see how deep they can go. The team will win this mission if each member sets a deeper goal for the second day dive, and they achieve it. The team gets frustrated when Theo sets an unrealistic and dangerous diving goal, jeopardizing the win for everyone. Theo meets his aggressive goal along with the rest of the team, resulting in another successful mission. The Road Rulers put together the individual flags they retrieved during the dive, which provide a clue that their next mission will occur in South Africa.
Just after their arrival in South Africa, James and Theo upset the rest of the group by disappearing from the airport for two hours. James gets angry when confronted by the girls and starts a yelling match with Msaada. The guys and girls each talk about the obvious gender separation that has occurred among the team. The team is nervous when they find out that their next mission involves great white sharks. In groups of two, the Road Rulers go down in an underwater cage to observe the sharks as they attack the bait. After getting into another yelling match, James and Msaada make up and gain a new understanding of one another.
The Road Rulers continue their South Africa adventure with an unusual mission that requires them to learn ancient healing techniques. Laterrian and Theo refuse to participate in the mission when they find out that they must sacrifice a goat, symbolizing communication with their ancestors. Kathryn, Holly, James, and Msaada take part in a ritualistic tribal dance followed by the slaughtering of an ox while Laterrian and Theo enjoy a visit to a scenic waterfall. The next part of the mission lets the Road Rulers predict the fortunes of the tribe members by ""the reading of the bones"". After the mission is over Laterrian and Theo defend their decision to not participate to their fellow teammates.
The Road Rulers meet their biggest rivals, The Real World cast, in South Africa for a series of games and competitions. The Real Worlders win the first event, in which the girls compete in a dance-off and the guys must imitate an animal of their choice. With the help of James, the Road Rules team wins the next event: ""the bug-eating contest"". In the final event, the two strongest girls and guys from each team must try to push one another out of a circle using a spear. Laterrian beats out David in the final spear face off, giving the Road Rules the win over the Real Worlders. Although the teams came together as intense rivals, they part as friends.
The next South African mission involves a contest where three of the Road Rulers will get the opportunity to fly in a fighter jet. Holly and Msaada are especially disappointed to learn that the winners are James, Theo, and Kathryn. Theo decides to give Msaada his chance to fly the fighter jet because he knows that it is one of her dreams in life. In Kathryn and Msaada both decide that if they win the ""Top Gun"" award, they will give it to Holly, which will allow her to fly the fighter jet. After James is awarded the ""Top Gun"" award, he decides that making someone else happy is more important than flying, and gives the award to Holly. Holly gets the incredible experience of doing air acrobatics in a fighter jet.
The next mission requires each of the Road Rulers to spend 48 hours alone in the wilderness where they will each record their own video diaries. Holly protests when she learns that she can't bring her Bible with her during her isolation in the wilderness. While spending his 20th birthday alone in the wilderness, Theo becomes emotional as he reminisces about his deceased father and how much he misses him. After dark, the mission becomes much more terrifying, especially after hearing the shrill of a loud whistle, signaling that one of the team members is in trouble. The mission mayors discover that the whistle call came from Holly, who lay frozen in her tent, terrified by her fear of ghosts. This mission creates a new bond and appreciation for one another, as the Road Rulers face only one more week together.
For the next mission, the Road Rulers must face off against the boy band O-Town in a mission on Catalina Island. The first part of the mission requires each person to parabounce off a cliff. The Road Rulers take the lead by several minutes as they enter into the main part of the mission, a sailing race from Catalina Island to San Pedro. The Road Rulers are not happy when O-Town not only catches up with them, but also passes them in their sailboat. The close competition causes the Road Rules team to lose their team moral and sportsmanship. This mission creates a new bond and appreciation for one another, as the Road Rulers face only one more week together.
The Road Rulers arrive in Los Angeles where their Truth or Dare mission brings out some crazy behavior, including a creative striptease by Theo. The Truth part of the mission creates some tension among the team, as they are required to reveal their true thoughts about their fellow teammates. The Truth or Dare mission creates some serious tension among the team as they face their final mission. In the final mission, the team must create their own mission, in which the only requirements are that they spend $5000 or less, that The Mission Board approves it, and that they choose something that forces them to face a fear. The Mission Board listens to the top three missions including participating in an adventure race, getting buried alive in a coffin, and getting married to a stranger in Las Vegas. The Mission Board choose the Vegas mission, but changes it to require the Road Rulers to pair up and marry one another, which they are not at all happy about.
The final mission requires the Road Rulers to pair up and get married in Las Vegas, planning their budget weddings in less than twenty-four hours. The girls take the mission seriously, spending time picking out their wedding rings and gowns. James throws a minor fit when he can't find the ""crazy tuxedo"" outfit he has in mind for his wedding. James and Msaada, Kathryn and Theo, and Laterrian and Holly stand side by side at the altar and get married, Las Vegas style. The Road Rulers receive their final reward and spend a celebratory dinner together reminiscing about their time spent together on this amazing adventure.
Theo from Road Rules Maximum Velocity Tour and Melissa from Real World New Orleans host 25 possible cast mates in a resort in Palm Springs, California. This is like a mini Real World episode as they all live together during the interviewing process. They are all narrowed down by Mary, John, and fellow producers until we have a finalized cast for Real World Back 2 New York and Road Rules The Quest.
Ellen, Blair, Sophia, Adam, Jisela and Steve arrive in the middle of the Sahara Desert for Road Rules Season 10: The Quest. Their goal is to recover an ancient crest that has been broken up into 10 pieces. Each piece represents a virtue that other Road Rulers have struggled to attain. If they fail any of the missions, they have one opportunity to redeem themselves. If they fail again, they must vote off one of their team members. It quickly becomes clear who the weaker links are during the first mission. Each Road Ruler must climb 200 feet down a rope ladder from a helicopter. Jisela talks a big game, but ends up becoming the first to fail a mission for the team. During a grueling ride across the desert on uncooperative camels, Jisela falls off her camel, freaks out, and threatens to go home. In Morocco, Ellen gets upset when the locals throw rocks at her. Her teammates theorize that the locals feel disrespected by Ellen's sexual attire and that she should be more considerate of differ
It has only been a few days and the Road Rulers are already at each other's throats. The fire erupts when Jisela insists on driving the Winnie, and Adam criticizes her driving. Jisela screams to Adam, ""You're not my dad and you're not going to tell me how to drive!"" Adam decides to push Jisela's buttons further by honking the horn while Jisela is trying to talk on her cell phone. Jisela completely loses it and explodes when her teammates try to calm her down. Meanwhile, the Road Rulers face their ultimate fears in the next challenge. They must try to get a cobra snake to strike at them by using their fingers, a drum or a flute. Adam is particularly scared of snakes and is worried that his teammates will think he's ""the weakest link."" But he pulls through for his team and wins the mission. Back on the drama front, Adam confides in his teammates that he has ADD--Attention Deficit Disorder--which explains his unpredictable behavior. With this new understanding of each other, Adam and Jisel
Most important news first: Adam and Ellen finally hook up after days of flirting. Nobody is suprised. Meanwhile, the Road Rulers run out of cash and must work to earn more. They head north to a small town called Fes, which has over 20,000 narrow streets. They must make seven deliveries in five hours on foot or by donkey. The items include stuff such as chickens, eggs and yarn. Needless to say, delivering items on donkeys is not their strength. After causing a major traffic jam, pissing off the locals, breaking eggs, losing two of the donkeys, and almost crushing Steve, the Road Rulers manage to make the last delivery in the nick of time. But Adam ends up in the doghouse when he doesn't take his ADD medication and makes a fool of himself and his team during the mission. Ellen begins to wonder if she made a huge mistake.
Ellen continues to have doubts about Adam and their roller coaster relationship. She is no longer buying the excuse that ""he hasn't taken his medicine that day."" Meanwhile, the cast is stoked to find out that they will be leaving Morocco and entering Spain for their next mission. Sophia is particularly excited and proclaims to her fellow teammates that she ""loves Spanish women"" and the fact that they ""are going to the land where they are created is a very good thing."" Which leads us to the situation between Sophia and Jisela. Jisela is feeling more and more uncomfortable with the increasing level of affection that Sophia is sending her way. Jisela decides to confront Sophia, who explains that their friendship is very important and that she will never jeopardize it. The next mission involves rock climbing on a vertical rock formation. Freaked out, Jisela ends up yelling at the instructors and refuses to complete the practice run. If the team fails this mission, someone will be sent h
The Road Rulers prepare to test their endurance in a 2.5 hour adventure race mission that includes swimming, biking, running, and climbing. The guys are worried that the growing tension between Ellen and the other two girls may affect their performances. But when Ellen struggles on two segments of the mission, Jisela overlooks their differences and goes out of her way to help Ellen finish the segments. This causes Ellen to break down and see things in a different light. After all the bickering, it was a strange sight to see all three girls hugging each other and being nice to each other. The team successfully finishes four out of five segments of the mission before bad weather forces them to quit for the day. When the team prepares for the rock climbing portion of the mission the following morning, Jisela loses her stamina from the day before and is overcome with fear. As she gets all geared up and stands at the edge of the rock, she begins sobbing and screams over and over, ""I can'
We left off last week in an extremely tense moment when Jisela tells her teammates that she will not complete the rock climbing portion of the mission because of her intense fear. Her teammates beg her to change her mind, but she stands firm. As a result, the Road Rulers fail their second mission and must vote off one of their own. Now the big question is...who will be sent packing, Jisela or Ellen? The team seems really divided on this issue. Ellen, Adam and Steve plan to vote Jisela off because she refused to even try to complete the mission. Sophia and Jisela want to vote Ellen off because they think her attitude makes her the weakest link. So the deciding vote lies with Blair. It is clear that Blair is struggling with this responsibility. On one hand, he has a tight relationship with Jisela, and prefers her personality to Ellen's. But on the other hand, he is worried that if Jisela stays, they may run into this situation again and fail another mission. After a tense afternoon, Ji
With Jisela gone, the Road Rulers prepare to meet her replacement. Sophia and Adam are having a particularly hard time dealing with the prospect of welcoming a new bubbly female team member that has no clue what they have been through over the past several weeks. Adam even creates a pretty harsh initiation for this team member, including trials such as ""spending the night sleeping under the stars by herself."" He justifies this by saying, ""I'm not going to let this person into the group until they earn their spot."" Well, ""this person"" ends up being Katie. First impressions indicate that her positive upbeat attitude will be a refreshing change for the group. Before Katie even has time to adjust to her new environment, she and her teammates face the scariest mission to date: base diving headfirst at 65 miles per hour into a wall of fire. Katie faces her fears and proves to her teammates that she will be a strong member. She tries to be a good sport about the whole initiation deal, but put
So it's back to the Adam and Ellen saga. Apparently, there has been more than just talking occurring in the bunk bed of the RV. Adam continues to play with Ellen's emotions, and the other Road Rulers can't quite understand their odd relationship. Katie is particularly shocked when Ellen tells her that ""Adam is taken."" In the next mission, the Road Rulers must spend the day in a Spanish bakery making meringues for the ""Meringue Festival"" in the city of Vilanova. Their mission is to make a giant meringue cake and deliver it to the town square the next morning. They have no idea that the point of the festival is for the children of the town to get in a huge meringue fight. By the time the Road Rulers reach the town square, everyone is covered from head to toe in meringue. This seems to be their favorite mission so far. Back to Adam and Ellen. Ellen decides that she has had enough and sits Adam down for a serious talk. Adam refuses to participate and ends up pushing Ellen to her limit, whe
Ellen is in the doghouse again after Blair overhears a phone conversation where she rips apart her teammates. And to make matters worse, Ellen leaves a similarly negative e-mail open on the computer screen for all to see. Her teammates have had it with her and her deceptive behavior and decide to confront her. She gets defensive and doesn't understand why everyone is picking on her. Meanwhile on the next mission, the Road Rulers must exhibit trust during a human tower competition in front of thousands of Spanish locals. Ironically, the team must depend on Ellen to climb to the top and lift a little boy onto her shoulders in order to complete the mission. The team gets frustrated during practice when Ellen predictably shows off, causing the tower to fall. Suddenly, things turn around for Ellen. After a few days of soul searching, Ellen changes her attitude and manages to pull through for the team, completing the mission without falling. She reacts by saying, ""I really feel like in this
There is another romance blossoming in the RV. It seems that Katie and Steve have taken a liking to one another, even though Katie has a boyfriend at home. Katie insists that she and Steve are ""just friends,"" but the rest of the Road Rules team would probably beg to differ The next mission takes place in Spain once again. The first clue indicates that the mission will involve more climbing. The Road Rulers are excited to climb again with the exception of Katie, who has no climbing experience. Everyone is pretty worried after Katie freaks out and starts crying during practice. However, Steve comforts her while she is attempting to climb up a steep mountain. Everyone is stoked when they find out that this mission will require them to act as ""Secret Agents--Mission Impossible-style."" Their mission, if they choose to accept it, is to recover a lost crest from inside a guarded castle. They are given incognito black outfits, night vision goggles, climbing gear and smoke cans. After scaling t
Things lighten up a bit for the next mission. The Road Rulers must each go out on a blind dates with an individual chosen through MTV.com with a chance to win money on their dates. Everyone is stoked except for Sophia, who is terrified of dating. Katie and Ellen get all glammed up and Ellen vows to ""get wasted"" while on her date. Oddly enough, Sophia has the most successful date of the group. She and her blind date enjoy a romantic Italian dinner and spend the evening talking and laughing. Her date even buys her a gift the following day as a remembrance of their evening together. Katie informs her date early on that she has a boyfriend, which kills any chance of romance. Ellen gets the reward for the most entertaining date. It starts off pretty well, until Ellen fulfills her promise of ""getting wasted."" After one too many ""vinos,"" Ellen starts tripping and giggling. On to the guys...Adam doesn't take long to turn into his goofy self. His date seems thoroughly entertained by the entire
Ellen attempts to bond with Sophia, but Sophia isn't into it. She tells Ellen that she has to trust someone to be close to them. The other Road Rulers think that Sophia and Ellen have more in common than anyone else on the team, but the two girls don't see that. Meanwhile, the Road Rulers are faced with one of their most difficult missions to date. They must each convince a stranger to bungee jump with them in tandem within six hours. The tricky part is that the total age of the six strangers much be at least 300, which means the average age of each stranger must be 50. On top of that, they are looking for these strangers in a quaint village town in rural Spain. Ellen takes control and really pulls through for the team on this mission. She is the first to find a bungee partner and also tries to help her teammates find partners. The funny thing is that the guys all find 50ish women to jump with and the girls find older men. Sophia is the last to find a partner. At the last minute, she f
The Road Rulers are bummed to find out that they must leave Spain to head back into Morocco. However, Katie insists that she is excited because she has never been to Morocco before. Her team is amused by the prospect of seeing Katie's face when she sees a ""Moroccan Toilet."" Once in Morocco, problems arise involving Adam and his insistence on being a back-seat driver to all of his teammates. During their first dinner back in Morocco, the team confronts Adam on his unwillingness to get along with the group. He puts up his usual defense, resulting in an ineffective team meeting. Meanwhile, the girls are not happy to learn that their next mission involves the process of making leather goods. They are even less excited when they get to the mission site and smell the disgusting aroma of dead animals and pigeon feces. Katie almost hurls several times and tells the mission leader more than once, ""I don't live like this."" She keeps claiming that she is quitting the mission, but never follows th
The Road Rulers are shocked to learn that there are actually some beautiful estates in Morocco. They are even more shocked to find out that the Real Worlders get to stay in one of them. The Road Rules team is anxious to prove to these ""wimpy New Yorker Real Worlders"" that being on Road Rules is much more challenging than living in a ""phat pad"" in NYC. This brings us to ""The Dual in the Desert,"" which involves several competitions between the two teams for a grand prize of $1000 per person. The Real World team gets pumped up after winning the first event, a sheep-herding contest. The Road Rulers hold a team meeting in the bus and agree that they ""WILL NOT"" lose to The Real World team. They exit their RV with the Road Rules flag and a new sense of unity and determination. Round two requires two members of each team to sleep together in a closed coffin overnight while taped together ""mummy-style."" Each team gets to choose two members of the opposite team to participate. The Real Worlders
The gang knows the end is near as they prepare to depart from Spain and Morocco and head back to the States. And, boy, are they glad. Eleven weeks on the road in close quarters has left them all a little tired of each other's annoying habits. So they pack their bags and head to Fort Dix for their final mission. As Ellen says, ""This is the Big Dog. This is it."" While Steve worries about whether or not he can cut it in the military like his father, Ellen worries about which shade of green eye shadow goes best with camouflage. The mission involves them being trained as a Military Medical Unit, and if they succeed, they will receive the crest of perseverance. During their tactics training, they learn how to ""rush & roll"" and the importance of team effort. Since they hate the smell of each other at this point, teamwork is a little difficult. Steve gets to be the leader during the practice mission. Rather than lead, however, Steve chooses to go Rambo and do it on his own. Surprise, surprise-
The final episode starts on a somber note as the Road Rulers realize that it's all over. Steve says his military upbringing will make him less emotional about saying goodbye. It's a really touching moment...until Ellen and Adam interrupt his interview by throwing mud at each other. Ah, love. Adam begins the last episode tradition by crying as he crouches in his sleeping bag. The next day, the cast puts all pieces of the crest together and reminisces about what each piece meant. They eat their last meal and toast each other and the memories they've made over the past 10 weeks. In order to receive their handsome reward, the Roadies have to take the crest to McGuire Air Force base at the crack of dawn. They take a 5-hour flight over the U.S. in a KC-10, a military refueling plane. They assist in refueling a few planes and then they get to do what few ever have...see a B-2 Stealth Bomber in flight. The captain of the bomber tells them that they have to deliver the crest to General Williams
Blair and Steve from Road Rules: The Quest return to introduce the newest cast members for Season 11: Campus Crawl and take a tour of the new RV.
Campus Crawl begins with the 6 cast members getting picked up on a yellow school bus somewhere in the backwoods of North Carolina. We quickly meet everyone and find out that Darrell likes to box, Rachel thinks that she's been put in some kind of fraternity/sorority House, Eric thinks Kendal is hot, Kendal likes to wear a furry coat, Sarah doesn't like girls and Shane 'likes the girls but really likes the guys.' The gang's first mission is called the Polar Plunge. They must dive into nearly freezing water to recover the keys that will open the Woodie. The guys all get down to their skivvies and Sarah and Kendal take off their shirts and the crowd around them delights in their nakedness. Shane doesn't pay attention to their instructions and jumps in the pond early dragging just about everyone else in and they all swim frantically to get the keys. Once they are inside the RV, they learn that they will be visiting college campuses all over the United States. They also learn that if they fa
Sarah feels like she is the weak link in the group. The rest of the team are physically active. They jog in the mornings, do exercising together and have already started to form bonds and friendships. Sarah isn't ready yet to make that commitment. She's not a sporting fool. Her relationship with her family has made her not trustworthy of people. When the group confronts her about not making the effort to be a part of the group, she breaks down and explains it all to them, hoping that they will understand. Meanwhile, Eric and Kendal aren't a couple but they sure act like it. When Kendal talks about calling her ex-boyfriend, Eric is noticeably upset. Eric continues to flirt with her but Kendal is putting up a wall even though its obvious to everyone that she is attracted to him. She claims she's just not mentally ready for a relationship with Eric right now but when Eric flirts with other girls, Kendal is jealous. The roadies drive to the University of South Carolina for their third miss
So you know that there's something going on with Kendal and Eric. Eric 'wants Kendal's nuts,' as Sarah so delicately put it, but Kendal's not so sure about Eric. He's growing on her, but he's kind of a dork and she doesn't really know how she wants to deal with it. What you probably didn't know, though, is that there's also something going on with Darrell and Rachel. Rachel, who has a girlfriend at home, admits that she considers herself 'a straight woman who has a girlfriend.' As time passes on this trip, she finds herself getting closer and closer to Darrell. They cuddle at night, they lay over and around each other, and they flirt. They flirt probably even more than Eric and Kendal do. Meanwhile, the gang arrives at Clemson University and learn that their next mission is to roll a car just like stuntmen do in movies. They have to do 3 complete car rolls between the six of them. Even with Rachel and Kendal unable to flip their cars at all, the Roadies have a chance to win when Darrel
The Road Rules Team finds out that they will be reporting to the Citadel, the military college of South Carolina. Rachel and Eric are psyched about the mission. They have been dreaming of going to the Citadel, and now they have the chance to prove that they have what it takes to make it at one of the toughest military academies in the world. Being thrust into a military experience reminds Kendal of her father who was in the army. Meanwhile, Sarah is noticeably not as ecstatic as the rest of the team and Shane, who spent time in ROTC in the past thinks that no one is prepared for what's about to happen. On their way to the campus, Kendal explains to Eric the significance of the ring she wears. Kendal reveals that after her parents divorced, her father committed suicide and her mom gave her the ring as a memory of her father. As the team pulls into the beautiful Citadel, everything at first seems peaceful. However, things quickly change. The team finds out that their mission will be to r
The Road Rulers roll onto the Clark-Atlanta campus to find out that not only will they once again be competing for the elusive $6,000, but that they will also be competing against another team. Once again, MTV.com has fielded a group of six whose soul mission is to bring down the Roadies. There's no love in this game as the de facto leader of the Dot-commers, Sam, asks the RR squad if they are ready to lose. The mission itself is a step competition being hosted by hip-hop's dynamic duo, Outkast. Each team has to come up with a step routine that will be judged by members of the CAU Greek organizations. Shane isn't taking the mission seriously and is constantly messing up while they go through the grueling practices. It's perhaps not the best time for him to start taking things lightly, as he has found himself in Sarah's old position as the outsider of the group. Shane is uncomfortable with the coupling up that has gone on in the RV and is maybe taking it out on the others a bit, making
Having squeaked past the Dot-commers in Atlanta, the Road Rulers seem poised to become a complete team, with everyone a full-fledged member and no one fearing being voted out. Shane continues to go big for the team, and Sarah is feeling much more comfortable with everyone and her status in the group. As they enter Alabama for their next mission, they are all having fun... until Shane slaps Darrell. It was in fun as they all joked around, prank-calling Shane's friends, but Darrell is not cool with having someone hit him in the face. He leaves the RV rather than doing something he will regret later. When the two are paired together in the balancing challenge, the tensions mount - especially when Shane teases like he's going to grab Darrell's behind. But by the end of the mission, Shane and Darrell have worked through their differences and are friends once again. Meanwhile, Sarah explains why her family disowned her and how that has affected her. Rachel is impressed with Sarah's ability t
As the Road Rulers continue making their way across the country, they are finding that assumptions they made early on aren't the realities of the day. Sarah, once the outcast of the group, is now bonding strongly with Kendal. Kendal doesn't want to see Sarah go should they lose another challenge and Sarah is shocked to find that the 'sorority girl' cares about her. Rachel, meanwhile, is realizing that maybe she isn't over her girlfriend at home. While its been nice cuddling with Darrell and having someone to lean on, her heart is still in Florida. But, the team doesn't have time to process the changes that are happening - they have a hell night to go through. They enter Tulane University and are greeted by James from Road Rules Maximum Velocity Tour. He informs them that in order to join the Fraternal Order of Road Rules they must complete challenges similar to ones that past casts have gone through. It includes playing with snakes, alligators and bugs. The group makes it through witho
The gang has their second mission in New Orleans, and they have to get naked! The six must remove all of their clothing and pose for 15 minutes while an art class sketches them. No one has much of a problem with it - except for Eric, whose conservative ideas start to creep in. He is uncomfortable with nudity, uncomfortable with showering with friends, and uncomfortable with Kendal's willingness to kiss other people on the streets of Louisiana. After the team easily completes the mission, they go out for a night on the town and have a great night of drunken revelry - just like you're supposed to do when you're on Bourbon Street. Kendal has a great time kissing girls and giving up pieces of clothing in exchange for beads while she's out there. Eric is upset by this behavior and shuts Kendal out - hurting her feelings in the process. After a few days of them ignoring each other, Eric realizes that he still cares about her and they make up. They decide to spend some time together away from
The gang rolls into Texas for the Dean's List Bungee. They have to find pairs of people to jump with them that have something in common (like a librarian and a student with overdue library books...get it? Good!). It proves more difficult than it seems as they have trouble finding a physics professor to jump with Sarah. Which is probably the worst thing to happen as Sarah is gung ho about this mission. She wants to go ""balls to the wall"" on her bungee. Eventually she finds a physics prof to join in and give us an excellent explanation of gravitational force and kinetic energy that might have been about bungee jumping or might have been his recipe for meatloaf. Does anybody know anything about Physics? So the team completes the mission and wins more prize money but they are informed that they can win some trip money if they complete a mini-mission. Unable to find a dean to jump with them, they go with an athletics coach to get the lesser cash award. Which sucks because they are desperate
The group remains deadlocked as they decide whether or not to vote someone off or give up their prizes. Kendal makes a pitch to keep the group together but once its clarified that if they remain in a tie one person will be removed randomly, Rachel decides to change her vote. They quickly decide that Sarah will be the one to go and she starts to pack. Shane and Eric leave the RV while Rachel and Kendal agonize over what's happened. Sarah tells Rachel she understands even though its not what she would've done and comforts Kendal who, surprisingly, has become her biggest supporter and closest friend. They finally say goodbye to Sarah but her departure has left trouble in its wake. Eric's stern stance on sending Sarah home has Kendal rethinking how she feels about him. She expected more from him and she is choosing to shut him off while she figures out how she feels. Rachel feels caught in the middle of a bad soap opera as the two both want to take a break from each other but aren't willin
As the Road Rulers roll into the University of Texas - El Paso (UTEP), they find that they may have traded away their weakest member for someone cut from the same cloth. Raquel isn't rough and tumble like Rachel and she doesn't seem to have the surprising competitiveness of Kendal. She's all girl and no grrrl and she likes it that way. Kendal does like that there is a little more estrogen on the trip, Eric seems blinded by her cuteness, yet Raquel's not exactly the wonder woman that Shane, Darrell and Rachel were hoping for. She washes dishes, disinfects the RV and doesn't want to do anything gross. So, of course, her first mission with the team is do what is probably the grossest Road Rules event to date. In the Cattle Cook Off, they have to prepare uncommonly eaten parts of a cow and then eat what they've made. Cow brains, Cow testicles, Cow penis anyone? The girls choose to cook and pull together what is a relatively appetizing looking meal of tacos and pasta featuring the cow parts
Rachel feels like her breaking up with Amy before the trip was a bad decision. Her quick relationship with Darrell has only served to prove that she's in love with Amy. She's really hurt that Amy is dating a man and is enjoying that they can be 'out' in public about their involvement. With Amy coming to visit soon, she is hoping that she can convince her that they need to be together. Meanwhile, The team heads to the University of Arizona where they have to take a ""Sex Quiz"". Darrell is confident that he will do well because he is the self-professed ""King of Sex"" and he knows so much more than everyone else. The reality is that while he may have done the deed a lot more than others, he doesn't know that much about it. He has to spin the wheel of gross stuff 3 times and gets to spread skunk poo over his face, hold scorpions in his hands and eat maggot caviar. But, despite his lack of sex smarts, he completes every challenge and the team beats the mission earning 6,000 dollars. When Amy
With her twenty-second birthday just days away, Kendal expresses that her father's suicide just before she turned twelve causes her to ""freak out"" each year as the big day approaches. ""I crave attention more during my birthday than any other time of the year,"" she explains. When the big day finally arrives, Kendal drowns her sorrows at a club called Fumbles, dancing and drinking the night away. Eric attempts to be her support and watch over her during this trying time, but she keeps pushing him further and further away. Raquel and Rachel don't understand why Eric can't just give her the space she wants and needs. The team has been wondering why the two of them have been together for a long time since it seems they enjoy fighting with each other almost every night. In the midst of all this emotional chaos, the mission for the team to escape straightjackets while hanging from a bungee cord. Each person has 90 seconds to get free or else they will be dropped. Four of the six have to finis
The time honored tradition of pranking The Real Worlders is upon us and the Road Rulers are more than game. But this isn't just stealing a robotic pet or pretending to be a cleaning crew to gain access to a beachfront house. This is Mission: Impossible. How do you get into a house on a floor with a secret code and security all around AND get a picture of a Real World castmember handcuffed to their tub when castmembers aren't allowed to take pictures during shooting? The first thing you should do is throw out any plans created by guys named Eric. Hey Eric, the art of seduction only works if your name is Bond, James Bond. We know James Bond, you're no James Bond. So, after the first plan fails, the Real Worlders are aware that Road Rules is in the hizzouse and are on the lookout for 6 kids trying to screw with them. Then comes Eric's new brilliant plan, pretend to be MTV.com staff members. Now, let's just take a moment to note that we're really hurt that Eric and Shane think that bandann
Once again, the Road Rules and Real World casts clash against one another in this season's next to last mission. This time, the road takes them to Lake Mead, Nevada. When the cast arrives, they find two beautifully decorated houseboats that contain a wide range of amenities including a Jacuzzi and love room. Just as the Road Rulers are getting settled, The Real World cast arrives and the two competing teams greet one another. Eric is immediately attracted to Trishelle and she to him in return. Trishelle informs Raquel that she's ""going to hook up with him. I'm calling it."" This connection doesn't go unnoticed by Kendal who is still stinging from Eric dumping her. Raquel warns Eric about Trishelle's man-eater persona. Eric ignores it all though and chooses to hook up with Trishelle anywhere and everywhere much to Kendal's discomfort. But the two casts are really here to do a face-off. Road Rules handily wins the first event, a floating tug of war. RW makes a huge comeback in the next ev
As the team heads into their final mission, the group has splintered. Kendal is still depending on Eric despite the fact that they aren't together anymore and their relationship is driving Rachel crazy. She decides to separate herself from Kendal instead of having to deal with the both of them. When Kendal asks Rachel if she's done anything wrong, the two have a heart to heart and agree to rekindle their friendship. The final mission involves blindfolds, the RV suspended in the air, a maze and trust. With Darrell as their guide, the road rulers must make it through a suspended obstacle course while blindfolded. With only a few minor stumbles, everyone makes it through except for Shane who can't seem to make it across the balance beam. After several tries, he finally succeeds and the team wins their handsome reward--a trip around the world! With that, the trip is over and everyone starts to realize that their time together is short. They have a final meal together and tell each other ho
Rachel and Shane from Road Rules: Campus Crawl introduce the new cast for Road Rules: South Pacific.
It's time to welcome our latest band of road trippers as they embark on the ride of their lives. Abram, a blonde, muscular guy with a boyish face, hasn't known one black person his entire life. He first meets up with Cara, a cute, halter-topped Midwesterner who doesn't really know what she wants to do with her life. Cara reveals that she's scared to be challenged in ways that she's not ready for and expects that this trip will be filled with exactly that kind of thing. ""Cara is kind of a girly girl,"" says Abram. He is quite the astute observer. Further down the beach is Dave who is very anxious and wants to be seen as a carefree guy who carries a guitar. Are guitars like the new ""soul patch?"" Is it a way for guys to show that there is more to them than the business degree and khaki shorts? Christena is whom Dave meets first and she rocks her own accessory, a cowboy hat. Having grown up in an all-white neighborhood, Christena explains that she's just looking for acceptance and generally
Abram wakes up with a hangover and it's not long before he starts dissing the girls. His attitude about women in general: ""It's a beautiful thing and it's just the hugest pain in the ass sometimes."" Christena worries that Abram is too set in his ways, so she gives him a short course on women while they're chilling in the front seat of the RV and later she half-jokingly tells the girls that they each have to take turns educating him. Abram responds with a resounding ""Noooo,"" but even a guy as clueless about women as he is knows that he's not off the hook yet. Abe makes it clear that although people may not like his personality or some things he does, he's gonna throw down and get the job done come mission time. En route to the location of their second mission, the roadies come upon six large Fijian men dressed in black, holding shovels. It looks like the grim reaper has multiplied. Mission mayors Irene and Russell tell them that this challenge involves a heavy dose of trust and teamwork
Abe makes halo wreaths for the girls in what seems like a peace offering attempt. Mary Beth definitely sees Abe's actions changing and she believes he's making an effort. Cara is admiring her wreath and upon learning Abe had to go to the hospital because he cut his hand while making the gifts, she snorts, ""Well, you shouldn't use butter knifes to cut things."" Realizing that was a low blow, she quickly adds, unconvincingly, that she appreciates the gift. Sitting up at the front of the RV with Abe, it seems that Christena is the only one who is making a full-fledged effort to get to know Abe. Their next mission involves competing against a 6'5', 305 pound Island Warrior in a traditional strong man competition. Road Rulers must win two out of three events in order to complete the mission. Event number one entails lifting heavy stones onto a platform. The Roadies misjudge their strength and are unable to complete the mission faster than the strong man. They come back strong in the second e
Always ready with a quick joke to lighten the mood or a sarcastic remark aimed at one of his teammates, Donell has settled into the position of the resident RV comedian. We learn, though, that he's really good at dishing it out, but positively awful at having it flung back at him. The Roadies receive information about a mission that will take place towards the end of the trip. They are given packets that will assist them in learning certain skills which include: lock picking, Morse code, compass navigation, puzzle and riddle solving, fire building, and the Spanish language. They trade the packets around until they each feel like they have a skill they believe they can master. Dave questions Donell's ability to learn logic puzzles, but doesn't say anything to the group. In the RV on the way to their next mission, Christina & Marybeth make fun of Donell's manicured eyebrows and his smooth, shaved legs. Mmm, sexy! (If you're a girl!) The girls think he primps too much, but Donell sees it
In the RV, Dave opens up to Marybeth about his ex-girlfriend who cheated on him. While it was a painful experience, he's stronger for it and happy to be ""officially single."" He provides us with the kind of deep philosophy that we expect from him: ""Happiness is wherever you are."" Dave admits that Marybeth wins for ""Girl He'd Most Like to Hook-Up with on the Trip,"" but doesn't want to pursue anything with her yet for fear of that awful, ugly thing called rejection. Whoops and yells are heard throughout the RV as the Roadies learn they will be traveling to New Zealand for their next mission. Donell is so happy he's doing gymnastics outside the RV. He says his weight has never been a factor in his life. Then he stands on a wooden beam and it breaks. That's a little foreshadowing, folks. They receive their clue which tells them that they are going to be on top of the world. Arriving at the Federal Building (the tallest building in the southern hemisphere) in Auckland, New Zealand, they are
Wearing a baseball cap, Cara complains at lunch that Abe is exhibiting poor table manners (i.e. he's got his elbows on the table). Abe is beginning to notice that there's a double standard emerging. His teammates need him for the missions, but when the missions are over it's ""Abram you're worthless."" Christina observes that Abe came on the trip very opinionated and when his opinions were not accepted well, he became closed off from the group. The Roadies get a clue that some think implies they are going to be in a porn movie. But then they meet Billy, their mission mayor and learn they are going to be taught the fine art of strip dance. To be more specific, the guys will be stripping at a gay club while the girls have to go out and promote their show. Donell and Dave are as giddy as a bunch of school girls about this mission, while Abe looks uncomfortable and unsure of what he's getting into. But in the end he learns the routine with the other guys because he knows he must do it in ord
In part deux of last week's episode, the Roadies watch the tape of the Abe and Donell smackdown and are shocked by Abe's extreme anger and violence. Cara and Marybeth tear up and Abe admits he's surprised by how intense and angry he was. The Road Rules producer decides he has no other choice but to send the Montana boy home--Abe doesn't try to dispute the decision. Dave is upset that Abe released his pent-up emotions by slugging Donell. Cara wonders why he crossed the line and Marybeth apologizes for any disrespect and feels guilty about being a little harsh on him. Christena says that the way everybody was treating him was wrong. Donell is pacing, still fuming from the incident, and wants to beat Abe's ass. He holds back because he doesn't want to ruin his experience on the trip by resorting to violence. Abe packs his things and is choked up as he's saying goodbye to his teammates. He tells them that he hopes that they have learned from this experience and warns them that they should
On edge since Abe's departure, there has been bickering among the Roadies in the RV. New guy Chris arrives via Taxi as a welcome distraction and the Roadies greet him with a warm welcome and open arms. The girls quickly become ""smitten kittens"" and are attracted to his boyish good looks, which quickly turns into a ""Chris, sit next to me!"" situation. Christena is the most excited for the new arrival, because she now has someone to pal around with. They receive a clue to their next mission, which brings them to a place called Gravity Canyon. Yeah, it's pretty much what you'd picture when hearing those two words, but of course, there's a twist. The mission is dubbed ""Catch Me If You Can."" The Roadies will pair up and one person will dangle over the canyon while the other must leap off a bridge into the arms of their teammate. They must be caught; otherwise they will bungee into the canyon and fail the mission. If they don't catch their teammate, they are allowed a second attempt after eve
Cara complains about living in the small RV with five other people. Not enjoying this sort of lifestyle, she is, like, so ready for a hotel stay. Christena reminds her that a true test of a person's character is when he's had everything taken away from him. Cara's secretly hoping that doesn't mean she has to give up her hair spray. Cara and Donell gush about how great it is that they met each other on this trip and how they've helped each other through the hard times thus far. Cue the music: Keep smiling, keep shining... Anyway, you get the picture; schmoopies and hugs are exchanged. The next clue asks if the Roadies are ready to ""dive into their next mission,"" so they meet at an aquatic center to train for the next day's official mission. They learn how to execute a ten meter high dive while Donell masters the art of workin' it in a Speedo. Their mission mayor informs them that they will hit the water at about 60-70 miles an hour and there isn't a lot of room for mistakes, one false m
Cara's Complaint of the Day: The RV smells like dirty feet. Most of the other Roadies are tired of her nitpicking and think she needs to lighten up and just have a good time. It probably wouldn't hurt if Donell put a hose to his feet every once and a while too. Always playing both sides, Dave says he loves his roommates, but ""some of them bitch so much, I can't even believe it."" Translation: ""Cara is a bitch."" And so the unlikely duo of Cara and Dave decide to spend the day together in Wellington. Cara, in what looks like an attempt to flirt with Dave, says today her mission is to get to know Dave better. Aww, that's cute and not bitchy at all. What she doesn't know is that if she fails this mission, Abe will return to the RV. (Just Kidding, Cara!) Dave says they bond during Cara's ""mission"" and he is glad he got to know her better. He understands her more and admires her for saying what's on her mind. The final verdict: she's one of the ""funniest coolest chicks I know"" he declares. La
Rather than force his other teammates to break the stalemate, Dave votes for Cara to leave. Hardly showing any emotion, Cara says she'll pack her bags and Donell starts BAWL-ling. Cara is sure she got the ""big fat shaft"" but she's not shedding a lot of tears. Frankly, she seems OK with going home with her high heels and the things she learned about herself on the trip. Donell apologizes to his team for causing them to go through the vote-off and Christena and Chris make sure that he is aware that he's just been given a lifeline. This makes Donell more determined than ever to prove that he really deserves to be on the trip. Missing her other half, Mary Beth bonds with Dave over sushi and a day in the park. Later they get drunk and spend the night in a tent on their campsite. The other Roadies are extremely suspicious about what went on between the two of them al fresco and Donell even admits to hearing some distinct sex noises. Dave brushes it off as wildlife sounds, but he fully admits
Donell and Tina find out they have a lot in common as they get to know each other. D confides in T, telling her that he thinks Mary Beth is as phony as her fake… well, you get the idea. Even though she's only been there a few days, Tina takes Donell's words as the gospel and she says she does not trust or want to get to know Mary Beth. Perhaps Donell is still a little peeved by the fact that Mary Beth wanted to vote him off the island. While hanging out at their campsite, Tina announces she is sexually frustrated. Chris is practically blushing due to her straight forward chit-chat. Tina embarrasses him further by trying to figure out how many girls he has slept with. Chris explains that he looks at women differently now that he's ""given his life to God."" Tina is aptly described by Christena as loud like Cara, yet more ghetto. Chris just wants her to ""kick it down a couple notches."" Not quite finished messing with her new teammates, Tina decides to ""F"" with Mary Beth, so she flirts with
The Roadies arrive on the breathtaking island of Tahiti. Tina continues her full court press on Dave, saying she's only doing it to mess with him and make Mary Beth jealous. It's clear by the look on Mary Beth's face that it's working. It's clear by the look on Dave's face that he likes the attention. Once they learn their mission involves using the six skills there were told to master a few weeks ago, most of the Roadies start to cram. But while Mary Beth works on lock-picking, Donell snacks on Doritos and Tina complains about having to learn four languages. Dave is frustrated with Donell who says he wants to switch his ""skill"" to pie-eating. Not able to keep his attention for long, Dave is unable to help Donell with his logic puzzles. Tina decides she needs a tutor and a free meal to help her learn French so she hooks up with Octave who owns a restaurant near where the group has been staying and they have dinner. She insists that she is on the date purely to learn French. The next ni
Chris and Dave speculate on what the new guy is gonna be like and they discuss how the newbie Roadie is basically going to win a prize for pretty much doing nothing. If all goes well, he'll be able to claim his handsome reward in just two missions. Jeremy bounces onto the scene and the Roadies immediately notice a positive vibe to Donell's replacement. He wants to bring ""happiness, spirit and energy"" to the team. Perhaps a little too excited to be there, the new kid on the block drinks a lotta too much and makes a fool of himself by hitting on Mary Beth so hard that she's actually getting bruises. OK, so that's as cheesy as Jeremy's pick up lines, but you get the picture. The Roadies admit that it's hard to trust someone they haven't seen perform before and based on Jeremy's irresponsible actions on his first night there, they are a little worried about this guy. Their clue indicates that they should get a lot of rest that night because they'll need it for the mission tomorrow, but, no
In Part Deux of the Road Rules Face Off challenge, Jeremy and Raquel are still flirting. Jeremy is quite smitten, saying Raquel is ""absolutely awesome"" and he ""hasn't felt an attraction like this in a long time."" Raquel appears to be batting her eye lashes in the name of strategy. They don't care how it's done; Campus Crawl is hungry for a win after their loss to those city sinners in Las Vegas last season. Everyone is getting tired, except for Darrell who is bouncing off palm trees and rocks, playing sneaky-deaky to get a South Pacific sleeper on tape. Twenty-seven hours into this mission, the Road Rulers are told they will have to memorize 20 names of past cast members in the correct order. Campus Crawl has a miscommunication about who is to memorize what and they end up losing this task. South Pacific is now ahead two Tiki-weaky statues to one. Chris tells Jeremy that he is very suspicious of Raquel's motives and advises him not to get too close to her. Cut to Raquel telling Jeremy
Tina is running her loud mouth off about her dislike of Mary Beth again. Tina admits that she personally is self-conscious, but adds that she doesn't try and be fake or something she's not, implying that's what Mary Beth does. Dave is finally wising up to the fact that Tina is trying to make Mary Beth jealous. Tina suggested the two shower, but he knows this would ""cause too many damn problems"" in his life. Not backing down, Tina continues to make overt passes at Dave back in the RV. Mary Beth is not fazed by Tina's actions and says she is childish and immature and she's not fooled by her games. Tina and Mary Beth rehash the fated dinners with the ever-popular Octave and they begin to fight. The claws start to come out and Mary Beth cuts Tina off and tells her she doesn't care what she thinks. Mary Beth is confused because she says she hasn't done anything to personally offend Tina. Always the peacemaker, Christina recommends that Tina to give it time and then she might feel differentl
The long awaited final mission has finally arrived as the Roadies wind down their tour of the South Pacific. Jeremy, who has barely unpacked his bags, waxes philosophical about how the journey has been long for some, but not long enough for others. Ready to earn the last piece of the tattoo, they learn a brand new car is at stake. The original Roadies thought it would be cool if they sat up at the front of the RV on the way to the last mission. But Chris and Jeremy are offended that the fab three want to create a division in the group at this stage in the game. Christena is not surprised that the arguing and drama runs right up until the last day. At the mission site, they see an obstacle course that looks like a giant suspended puzzle. The Roadies will pair up and must traverse the course. After each pair crosses the platforms together, they must grab a key, which is hanging from a chain, to their Subaru. Of course there's always that--if one person doesn't reach the end of the course
We start off meeting our 6 Roadies- Patrick- 20 year old male from Park Ridge, Illinois Jodi- 22 year old female from Richmond, Virginia Derrick- 20 year old male from Des Plaines, Illinois Ibis- 19 year old female from Weston, Florida Danny- 20 year old male from Linden, New Jersey Kina- 19 year old female from Pennsville, New Jersey They are pulled in trailer by sows to their new home for 2 months, the mighty RV. Inside the RV they notice one big bed in the back. They comment how that just promotes messing around between the roadies. They are given their phone where they'll receive all their clues and their first clue to meet their mission mayors. They go up to meet Andrea and Fabrizio. They welcome them to Road Rules X-treme. This promises to be the biggest and baddest of the Road Rules. They tell them that they need to give up all their money and credit cards. They also tell them that they will be living on 1,650,000 pesos ($3000) in $500 Visa cards for the whole se
We start off with the cast swimming in the ocean. Danny who is comfortable with himself takes off his shorts and skinny dips. Derrick later talks to Kina about how he is not comfortable with homosexuals and how he will share a bed with any of the girls or even Patrick but he will not share a bed with Danny. They receive their next mission clue over the phone saying that they should prepare to get water behind their ears and to be at the mission site by 9:30am. 8:01PM - Even though they have a mission the following day, they decide to go out to a bar. Danny says he can't get drunk because he gets really crazy. 9:36PM - After a few drinks, they all get a buzz but Danny ofcourse gets hammered. 10:20PM - They all start to dance and play around. 11:32PM - Danny starts trying to kiss the girls. He ends up vomiting everywhere and they take him back to the trailer. 1:55AM - Girls are still taking care of Danny who is vomiting while passing out. Derrick and Patrick are laughing at Dann
Still in Puco, Patrick talks about how he knows how he really wants to marry his girlfriend - Courtney. He says he has made some mistakes in the past but willing to try harder to treat her the way she deserves to be treated. They receive their next clue that says ""What do you call a guy with no loegs and no arms that hangs on a wall?"". They think it might have something to do with rock climbing. Patrick and Derrick decide to wrestle out in the lawn. They wrestle several times and Patrick seems to beat Derrick all around. Derrick being so wound up picks up Kina and ends up falling on his back twisting a knee that has had past trouble. Derrick is in extreme pain as Kina places ice on his already swelling knee. He wonders how he will compete in the next days mission or any further mission. The following morning, they head out to their next city and mission. Derrick is resting with ice on his knee. They arrive and greeted by their mission mayors- Christobal and Carolina. They annou
We start off with the roadies in Santiago, they are out on the town when they receive their next clue. It tells them that they will be walking to their next mission so get a ""Moo"" on. Kina gets all happy cause she believes it's a mission that has something to do with cows. That night Derrick and Kina take a walk. Derrick really likes Kina and wants to take it to the next level but is still hesitant. Kina really loves Derrick alot but mainly in a flirtation way. The following day Kina tells Ibis that Derrick tried to kiss her again. Ibis tells her that she is afraid of intimacy but Kina just wants to go through this trip without a relationship. They arrive at their mission where they are greeted by Carolina & Cristobal. They tell the roadies that their next mission is ""Don't have a Cow"". They are told they will be eating all parts of a cow. They will have to pair up and feed their partner. They must finish their whole plate in 5 minutes, whatever is left over after the time is
We start off with the roadies talking about how dissapointed they are with Danny's performance in the previous mission. At the beach, Danny talks about how he has a poster of a Playgirl model on his wall. Derrick immediately says ""Earmuffs"" and places his hands over his ears. Derrick explains that he does this whenever Danny talks about his homosexuality that Derrick doesn't want to hear. Danny explains that he is insulted cause noone sees him do that when Derrick talks about his girls. They receive their next clue that says it will have something to do with a plane and pictures and they must go to the Aero Club de Santiago. On the way to the next mission, a sudden crash halts the RV. It seems that Derrick was driving and hit a tree that was hanging over the street. It ripped opened the top of the RV aswell as breaking the windshield. As the tree was hit it also ripped it out of the groung having it land on two other cars. One of the other drivers calls the police which arrive a
We start off with the roadies driving from Santiago to Calamana. They see beautiful sites along the way. They find some girls in a car driving along side them that recognize the Road Rules logos and they play with eachother leading to Danny mooning them through the window. Danny feels that he is finally comfortable with his fellow roadies and he is happy to be on the trip. They receive their next clue saying to meet in the desert and wear long pants and sneakers. They all think that they have to run or something. They all know they must pass this mission or someone will be voted off. Danny is worried that he might be the one voted off and feels he needs to show all that he's got in the next mission. They arrive at their mission where Filepe and Ximera tell them that they will be ""Blind Driving"". In teams of two they will have to make 3 laps in a dune buggy as fast as they can. The catch is the passenger is blindfolded and will be controlling the gas and break while the driver c
They wake up at a campsite they're staying at while the RV is being repaired. They go to the van to find out the door has been left opened and it is covered in flies. The flies are attacking all the food and mess they left in there. They all wish they could have the RV back. They know the new guy is coming and they all don't want him to come. They know they won't accept him as they accept Danny and they hate that the new guy will be immune from the first vote off if they lose another mission. They arrive to find Nick- a 22 year old male from Detroit Lakes, MN. They also see that he is standing next to their RV. They are happy to see their RV and alright with meeting Nick. They know they have to live with him so they all start to get to know him. He also brings the key that they didn't receive for their lost mission. They show them the RV and are happy to see that it looks better then ever. They start to question him about how he feels to come on the show and what he plans to c
The Roadies go out to party and Kina and Jodi meet a British babe named Boris. Kina complains that Jodi originally said she wasn't interested in Boris and then a few minutes later Jodi was hugging up on him on the dance floor. Kina is not pleased. Ibis tells it like it is, ""When Jodi has drinks in her; she becomes a slut."" Later in the RV, Jodi tries to smooth things over, but Kina doesnt quite buy it. The Roadies will be divided into three teams for their next mission, titled ""Leap of Faith."" Each team will board a helicopter and be transported to somewhere in the lake where they will see three diamond targets. They must jump into one of the diamonds (the smallest is worth five points and the largest is worth one). Each team will jump twice. The first jump, one of the Roadies must jump blindfolded. His or her teammate must tell him when to jump. During the second jump, the roles will be reversed. At the end of the mission they must have accumulated a total of 40 points. Jodi makes th
The Roadies are in the midst of drawing names from a hat to decide who will go home. Kina's name is pulled twice, so she will be headed home. Kina feels good about the decision and keeps a strong face in front of her roommates, but when she retreats to the X-RV by herself, she has a good cry. Poor Derrick wonders who his cuddle monkey is gonna be now that Kina's off the team. Meanwhile, Jodi feels guilty because she thinks she would have been voted off if they didn't pull names from a hat. The rest of the Roadies now worry about how their team chemistry will be affected. Jodi declares she will help fix the communication problem her teammates feel exists. Patrick isn't going to cut Jodi anymore slack. ""If we don't win this next mission, it's Jodi's ass,"" he warns. The Roadies pack up the X-RV and head for Argentina and await the arrival of their new teammate. Angela, a girly-girl who has a real job back home, arrives at the RV and hopes to meet some down-to earth chicks and a guy who do
Derrick is getting increasingly annoyed with Nick, apparently because of Nick's ""stupid comments."" No longer the newest person on the team, Nick still feels like an outsider. He feels ganged up on and is defensive and that has apparently made him persona non grata. When the gang goes that night, Nick is the designated driver for the second time in a row. Poor guy just can't catch a break. Desperately trying to gain acceptance in the group, Nick offers to drive to Buenos Aries. In the Falling at Your Feet mission, the Roadies learn they must once again pair off into three teams of two. Each team of two must stand on an eight foot pillar, which is attached to a truck by a chain. The pillar is pulled out from under their feet as the truck zooms by. When the pillar is yanked from under them, the two Roadies must land on their feet in the designated area. No other part of their body must touch the ground. Angela and Ibis go first and fail miserably. Nick and Patrick complete the jump succes
New girl on the block, Angela, feels welcomed into the group and she is starting to have a good time, especially with Patrick. Before their next challenge, mission mayors introduce the Roadies to their new teammate, Jillian. This newbie says she is a tri-athlete and captain of lacrosse team. Patrick giggles nervously upon meeting her and narrates that Jillian is pretty much bangin' all over. Derrick warmly notes that Jillian is up for grabs. Former flavor-of-the month Angela is not happy that Jillian is younger than her little sister and a sexpot to boot. Jillian notes she is open for hooking up on the trip. Let the games begin! The Roadies learn that the next mission involves learning the Tango. After they take dancing lessons, they wonder watch the catch will be that will make this mission X-Treme. After the Tango lesson, Angela pouts to Patrick and Derrick about the fact that Jillian can't be her friend because she's so much younger. Patrick has no problem telling Angela that he doe
Angela, Derrick, Nick and Jodi talk about what happened the night before when Jillian and Patrick were rockin' the RV. Meanwhile, Jillian is aware that Angela doesn't like her. Angela continues her complain about Jillian at lunch with Nick. Going into the ""Measure Up"" mission, the Roadies hope to start a winning streak and not have to send anyone home the rest of the trip. The Roadies arrive at a hotel fitness center and it soon becomes apparent that Angela is not happy and would much rather be at home than competing in a mission. Her teammates begin to worry that she will intentionally do something to make them lose a mission just so she can go home. For the mission, the Roadies must collect sweat off of their bodies and put it into a container. To win the mission, they must collect a designated amount of sweat. Everyone except Angela tries to work up a sweat, but it soon becomes clear that the guys will be the ones who produce the most sweat, so the girls serve as the sweat collector
The night before their next mission, Derrick gets a little tipsy. Angela senses that he's a lost soul who needs to be found. When the Roadies meet up with their mission mayors, they learn they will be competing in a ""face off"" with Road Rules 12 cast members. The two casts meet and greet and Angela blurts out that Jillian and Patrick have already had sex. Mary Beth thinks Patrick is hottie and Dave reveals that he and Cara from his show are dating and in love. The team with the most points at the end of the competition will win $12,000. The first challenge involves running and it appears that Derrick's drinking and smoking prevent him from doing well at that challenge. Road Rules South America pulls ahead and finishes first, which gives them 10 points. Angela opens up to Chris about Derrick's wild life and asks Chris, since he has been in a similar place, to try and talk to him about getting on the right track and stopping drugs. While they rest, Chris takes some time to talk to Derric
After their first day of Face Off missions, the Roadies get their drink on and Patrick decides to teach Mary Beth the Tango, while Jillian looks on disapprovingly. Claiming to not be that jealous, Jillian Tangos with Abe, while Patrick looks on disapprovingly. The next morning the Road Rulers learn they will be eating the Breakfast of Champions. Nope, not Wheaties; six raw eggs. They must drink this morning treat as fast as they can. Most of the Roadies do well, and nearly all of them end up puking after they chug the eggs. It's not a pretty site and it's probably not a good idea to go swimming in that lake after this mission is done. Little Miss Cara does surprisingly well, while Angela and Jillian struggle. South Pacific wins the mission. For the final aspect of the Face Off mission, the Roadies are taken to a boxing ring where they will fight each other until one is knocked down or decides to quit. Jillian narrates that she is looking forward to punching Mary Beth in the face, while
Angela is on the phone boo-hooing to her boyfriend, saying that she just wants to go home. Derrick does not appreciate her bad attitude and thinks she doesn't care about anyone but herself. While the other Roadies strive to get to know Angela and support her, they don't feel like they receive the same in return. This comment actually makes Angela think a little bit about how her actions are affecting her team. The Roadies arrive the next morning at Stunt School. For this mission, they will be doing different types of stunts that involve guns, a mini-catapult, glass and wire work. After they master the stunts, they will have to execute them in a choreographed scene, so acting is involved as well. Jodi giggles while she trains for her catapult stunt and her teammates worry that her acting skills are not up to snuff. Angela and Derrick work out some of their animosity while they train for their scene. It's clear that Angela is really into this mission, but Nick worries that her mood could
As Jillian and Patrick brush each other's teeth, Jillian narrates that at first their relationship was purely sexual, but now that she has gotten to know him, she is falling in love with him. ""We have good sex, but it's mostly all psychical,"" Patrick contradicts. Derrick explains to Jillian that Patrick has a girl back home and it's very possible Jillian will end up getting her heartbroken. Jillian is aware of this, but gosh, golly, gee, Patrick is too irresistible. The Roadies' mission this time around is to perform a Gondola rescue high up in the air on a cold and rainy day. The challenge part of this mission is that one of their strongest team members will be rendered helpless. Patrick is chosen to be the ""victim"" and he, along with his teammates, worry that his talents are going to be wasted in this role. The Roadies take the Gondola up into the clouds and when it stops, Derrick is the first one to traverse the rope to the other Gondola. He comes very close to letting go because hi
The Roadies arrive at their final mission in Bariloche, Argentina and learn they must use two bridges to cross a gorge. Oh, did we mention they are ""trick"" bridges? Anything can happen at any time! And if anyone is foiled by the ""trick"" bridge and falls, the team will have a second chance to cross. Once they have completed each stage of the mission, they will have earned their last extreme key and will be given further instructions on where to go to collect their handsome reward. Could this be the first Road Rules team in history to be unsuccessful winning their handsome reward?! Patrick navigates the first bridge and does well until he steps on a board that breaks. A few more break and suddenly what seems like an easy task becomes hard. Jodi is the first girl to cross and she doesn't listen to Derrick when he tells her to wrap the rope around her hand so she doesn't fall. She either can't hear or doesn't listen and ends up falling right before she comes to the end of the bridge. This
