Willie is called in by Alan, owner of Sugo Cafe, a family-run business in Long Beach, N.Y. For the past six years, Alan, a total control freak, has devoted every waking moment to his struggling restaurant at the cost of spending time with his wife and watching his kids grow up. Desperate to spend time with his loved ones, Alan has staffed Sugo with family and friends, but immediately discovers that business and family do no mix and, in fact, could be the recipe for disaster at the cafe.
Willie Degel se rend chez Alan Adams, le propriétaire du « Sugo » situé à Long Beach. Alan travaille en famille avec sa mère et son fils. Avant, les clients affluaient pour la cuisine et l'ambiance familiale du restaurant, mais aujourd'hui, Alan est omniprésent, passant de poste en poste pour ne pas voir son restaurant couler. Willie remarque très vite la raison du dysfonctionnement : le personnel, inexpérimenté et désagréable, manque d'organisation et de responsabilité. Willie arrivera-t-il à sauver ce restaurant avant qu'il ne boive la tasse ?
