In einem Indianerreservat verstirbt ein Kind an einer seltsamen Krankheit. Da der Medizinmann nicht helfen konnte und der Arzt des Reservats kein Interesse an einer Behandlung gezeigt hatte, wird der Tod des Jungen von den Dorfbewohnern verdrängt. Als dann aber der beste Freund von Chester ebenfalls krank wird, ruft die Mutter in ihrer Not Quincy an. Der Gerichtsmediziner diagnostiziert bei ihm Beulenpest. Doch es scheint noch mehr hinter dem Fall zu stecken ...

Quincy rushes to an Arizona Native American reservation when he hears that his foster son, Chester, is suffering from bubonic plague. When he confirms this and tries to warn the local authorities he finds that they have no interest in the potential disaster. They are much more concerned with the forthcoming opening of a new country club that will bring tourists to the area. They have a big golf competition planned with many big names arriving and they don't want to cause a panic that would ruin the resort before it has even opened.

Quincy salva dalla morte un bambino, residente in una riserva vicino ad una nota località turistica, colpito da peste bubbonica. Dato il pericolo di contagio molto elevato, Quincy avverte le autorità locali affinchè venga dichiarato lo stato di quarantena. Viene però ostacolato perchè la notizia provocherebbe problemi alle strutture turistiche.
