It's the first day of work of the New Year. Scott is trying to find the right time to let his staff know that he might be closing down the company. Amanda is baring some good news that might save the day, though there is a little hump she and Dave must pass first in order for this to succeed.
Everyone is gathered in the conference room to discuss the new project. Amanda is letting the team know of the creative idea that the client signed on, but Dave has other ideas. Scott meets Ahmed the maintenance guy. Fran messed up the schedule.
Dave brings in a new writer named Latisha in order to replace Amanda, but Scott refuses to hire her. Dave suspects that Scott is a racist. Fran messed up the schedule though finds her true love in Jeb, the delivery man. Scott has a meltdown in front of his new clients.
