Marlene has her head pushed down the toilet by Lou for thwarting her plans, but is saved by Myra. She also finds Judy bashed, but they end up arguing over what Myra is doing as top dog. The discovery of a dead rat in the prison mail leads to a few suspects, the most important being an ex boyfriend of Phyllis, Brian Lowe. Ann and Meg move in together for a while to help comfort Ann, but Brian Lowe makes his way to the house, taking the two women hostage. Marlene is heavied by both Joan and Len, being forced to clean up a frightful mess, and them having her nose smashed in a door. The question of who may be a good top dog is discussed between Bobbie and Marlene, who consider Reb as a good choice. New prisoners are brought into isolation, but their identity is kept secret.
