Manaka Lala is a 5th-grader at Paprika Academy. Like most girls, she admires the world of PriPara, a sport that tests idol girls on song, dance, and fashion. Unfortunately for her, the world of PriPara does not send PriPara tickets to elementary school students. However, through miraculous circumstances, Lala passes the audition to become a PriPara idol.

そこでは毎日のように、歌やダンス、ファッションセンスを競い合うオーディスオンが開催され、その様子はTVやネットを通じて世界中に発信される。
今やトップアイドルはこのプリパラから生まれるのだ。
主人公・らぁらも友だちと同じくプリパラに興味津々。
でもらぁらの学園では小学生のプリパラは禁止・・・
ところがひょんなことからプリパラに初入場してしまったらぁらは、なりゆきからオーディションに出ることに。

主角菈菈和他的朋友們也對於「星光樂園」的世界充滿興趣。不過菈菈的學校卻禁止小學生參加這些活動……然而，因為一次奇妙的契機，菈菈第一次走進這個傳說中的世界，結果還登上了比賽的舞台。那麼菈菈的「星光樂園」出道演出究竟會如何呢！？
PriPara ist eine Welt, in der jedes Mädchen ein Idol werden kann. In PriPara nehmen sowohl angehende als auch Top Idols an Wettbewerben im Singen, Tanzen und Fashion teil.
Trotz der großen Beliebtheit ist das Betreten von PriPara an der Schule von Lala Manaka verboten und die Schulleiterin konfisziert alle PriTickets, die zum Betreten dieser Welt erforderlich sind. Durch einige Umstände gelangt Lala jedoch nach PriPara und trifft dort auf Mirei, ein angehendes Idol. Mirei überredet Lala dazu ihre Partnerin zu werden und so beginnt Lala ihr großes Debut als Idol.
