Unsere Helden kommen endlich an der Arena von Herzhofen an und treffen dort ihren Freund Nando, der ihnen erzählt, dass der Arena-Leiter für längere Zeit verreist ist. Ash ist am Boden zerstört. Aber dann erfahren sie, dass in Herzhofen ein Pokémon Zweiermatch stattfindet. Rocko und Ash beschließen, als Team daran teilzunehmen. Zuerst beginnt aber der Pokémon Wettbewerb von Herzhofen. Lucia, Nando, Zoey und die als Jessilina verkleidete Jessie kämpfen um den Sieg. Voller Zuversicht legt Lucia eine fantastische Vorführung hin. Sie ist traurig und geschockt, als sie erfährt, dass sie es nicht mal bis in die zweite Runde geschafft hat. Während sie versucht, mit der Situation fertig zu werden, wird Jessilina von Nando geschlagen. Nando und Zoey bestreiten das Finale, das Nando schließlich gewinnt. Und für Rocko und Ash beginnt in wenigen Tagen das Pokémon Zweiermatch…
Ash heads for the Hearthome Gym for his battle, only to find out that the gym is closed. Nando then tells them about the Hearthome Tag Battle Tournament, which they decide to compete in. Before that happens, Dawn must compete in the pokemon contest. The contest won't be as easy as she thinks, not only must she pull off a double performance, but do so while competing with Jessie, Zoey, and Nando. All four of them pull off great opening appeals, but when the Final 8 are selected, Dawn is not one of them. She is crushed at the loss and leaves to be alone. The final round then comes down to Zoey and Nando, but who will achieve victory?

ついにヨスガシティにたどり着いたサトシたちは、ポケモン吟遊詩人のナオシと久々に再会した。どうやら、ナオシも"こおろぎポケモン"のコロトックと共にコンテストに出場するらしい。さらに、コンテスト会場正面の広場は、ダブルパフォーマンスに向けて練習をしているコーディネーターたちで賑わう。そこには、ニャルマーとカラナクシで優勝を狙うノゾミの姿も。今回のヨスガ大会は、ポケモンを二体使ってのダブルパフォーマンス！そしてダブルバトル！強敵ぞろいの大会で、ヒカリは、2つ目のリボンをゲットすることができるのか！？
