在20世纪20年代末，蔡泽鏛赴上海同济大学，秘密寻找党组织，引起中共特科明松的关注。经过确认身份后，他化名蔡威，前往鄂豫皖苏区筹建电台，与徐正业和曲向东合作，为红四方面军建立首个电台并培养无线电人才。蔡威不仅利用电台收发消息，还研究敌军侦听与密码破译，提供重要情报，支持红军在反三路和反六路围攻中的胜利。最终，蔡威因过度劳累在甘肃病重，献出了年轻的生命。
