Quelque part dans la galaxie, un astronef, le "Cosmos", fonce dans l'espace interstellaire, poursuivi par de mystérieux engins. L'astronef harcelé, encerclé, tombe bientôt aux mains de ses ennemis. Seul un être étrange, un robot, a réussi à se dégager de cette emprise infernale. Perdu dans la galaxie, Pluk, le naufragé de l'espace, cherche un refuge. Il se dirige alors vers la plus proche des planètes... la Terre.
