    Join nature fanatic Mike Dilger and BBC World News broadcaster Rico Hizon as they go in search of rich culture and rare wildlife in one of the greatest biodiversity hotspots in the world - the Philippines. On the beautiful island of Palawan, Mike discovers creatures living deep underground at the Puerto Princesa subterranean river; he meets a member of the ancient Batak tribe who shows him a precious tree resin; witnesses a magical firefly display in the mangroves, and helps a local conservation team who are trying to save the critically endangered Philippine cockatoo. Exploring Filipino culture, Rico takes Mike to meet some inspiring home-grown businesses and explains the Philippines's rich history through its intriguing language.

    In this second episode, wildlife enthusiast Mike Dilger uncovers rich biodiversity and inspiring conservation heroes. On the tropical island of Coron he is surrounded by immense karst limestone cliffs and dives on part of the world famous coral triangle. Travelling north to the island of Luzon, Mike joins Filipino BBC World News presenter Rico Hizon and together they visit the eerie hanging coffins of Sagada, help till the rice terraces of Banaue and enjoy one of the nation's best loved dishes - Adobo. In a quest to see exotic species, Mike teams up with a group of devoted conservationists to help save the rarest crocodile in the world.
