Angela, the tennis playing Phenom, strives to live as a normal teenager. Her pushy coach Lou, keeps her in the tennis spotlight and she does not have time for friends or family. Her mother, Diane, is falling off her hinges and needs to get away for the weekend, so Lou gives her the tip of a spa that he goes to often and she can relax and get a 50% discount for mentionining his name. When Diane gets there she meets a charming man, except he has multiple personalities. Back home, Brian must tend to his little sister's camp meetings, which turns out to be in his favor.
A popular boy invites Angela to the school ball, but she is in training for a tournament the next day.
A class assignment has Mary Margaret studying her family for a week, during which the van burns up and the family is threatened with eviction because of a missed mortgage payment.
When leaving from a tennis practice, Angela and Brian are the victims of mugging. Luckily, Angela's soon to be new coach rescues them with his strength and his tennis racket. Angela starts the hero worship on her new coach, forming a crush. Little did Angela know, he was just playing with her emotions to get her to play better. When the truth comes out, Angela doesn't hold back with the tongue lashing and fires him on the spot for toying with her and being cruel to her.
Lou wants Angela to change her personality in order to improve her tennis.
