El Pau i els seus fills, el David i la Mariona, han arribat fa poc a Barcelona perquè ell comença la seva nova feina com a director d'un centre comercial. Un cop allà, l'Enric, el cap de relacions públiques, i la Magda, la secretària, no tenen cap intenció de facilitar-li la feina. Durant els primers dies, el Pau coneix les persones que treballen al centre i intenta resoldre les situacions que se li presenten.
