    The House Jan. 6 committee announced an previously unplanned hearing for June 28, promising new evidence and witness testimony. Committee members did not confirm a focus for Tuesday's hearing, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET. But it will likely lean heavily on the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson, a senior aide to former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows, the NewsHour and other media outlets confirmed.

    The January 6th Congressional Committee will hold its next hearing on Thursday night in primetime. Lawmakers on the January 6th Committee have already accused former president Donald Trump of failing to call off the Capitol insurrection for hours. This week’s hearing is expected to reveal more evidence of what the former president was doing on January 6.

    The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol has announced another public hearing. It will be the first public committee event since July, when the last hearing concluded for a summer break. Since then, the committee has continued to compile witness testimony and evidence, according to committee chair Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss. The hearing was originally scheduled for Sept. 28, but was postponed as Hurricane Ian approached landfall in Florida. The committee is now slated to gavel in Oct. 13 at 1:00pm EDT.   • S01E10 Jan. 6 Committee hearings - The Final Report

    After 18 months of investigating the events and causes of the Jan. 6, 2021 attack, from more than 1,000 closed-door interviews and 10 public hearings, the special House committee is set to release its final report next week. At the end of its planned meeting on Dec. 19, the committee will not only vote to approve its final report, but also on whether to make criminal referrals to the Justice Department as part of its probe. When it comes to holding anyone criminally responsible, the panel has not disclosed whom it might recommend for consideration. The panel’s full report will be released the same day as the meeting. The Jan. 6 committee is expecting to gavel in at 1:00 p.m. EST.
