“小津調”と称される独特かつ唯一無二の映像世界で、没後６０年となる今もなお国内外で高い評価を受け続ける“世界のＯＺＵ”。『東京物語』『晩春』など後期の代表作が注目されることが多いが、本作では初期の作品に焦点を当てる。第１話に取り上げるのは、下町の人情を描いた１９３３年公開の『出来ごころ』。田中圭が主演を務める。第２話は１９３２年公開の傑作『大人の見る繪本 生れてはみたけれど』を主演・柄本佑で、第３話はギャング映画『非常線の女』を主演・前田敦子でドラマリメイクする。また、第４話のコメディ映画『淑女と髯』は主演・成田凌、第５話のシリアスな映画『東京の女』は主演・石橋静河、最終話の青春映画『青春の夢いまいづこ』は主演・中川大志と、全６話で多彩なＯＺＵの世界に迫る。
