A scene at a train station leads to a sing-along of the title song, followed by an amusing cartoon sing-along of humorous new lyrics about spotting a "married man".
Telephone current (personified as an animated messenger boy) travels to and fro across telephone wires to demonstrate what happens when a call is made through the late-1920s telephone system.
A man with a huge hooked nose enters the Fleischer studios to have his bust sculpted. Meanwhile, across the studio, Max is animating Koko. When he's called over to consult on the too-accurate bust, Koko gets mischievous and creates his own drawings. He then escapes and crawls inside the clay bust, eventually wriggling off like an inchworm. He gets into a fight with the man being modelled, both of them flinging wads of clay.
Max has invented a new, electric, drawing device. He uses this to finish the drawing and then, with a somewhat maniacal grin on his face, he turns the device on poor, hapless KoKo.
