Eind april 1945 wordt concentratiekamp Dachau door de Amerikanen bevrijd. Terwijl verschillende landen in rap tempo transport regelen om landgenoten naar huis te halen, doet Nederland niets. Een groep van 18 Nederlandse mannen neemt het heft in eigen hand en reist zelf terug in een door de Amerikanen geschonken bus. In deze aflevering volgen we drie van hun kinderen die 80 jaar later gezamenlijk dezelfde terugtocht door Duitsland en Nederland maken.
At the end of April 1945, the Dachau concentration camp was liberated by the Americans. While various countries quickly arranged transport to bring their compatriots home, the Netherlands did nothing. A group of 18 Dutch men took matters into their own hands and traveled back in a bus donated by the Americans. In this episode, we follow three of their children who, 80 years later, made the same return journey through Germany and the Netherlands together.
