Luffy and Jinbe start their duel to see who gets to fight Hody but their fight was cut short by Sanji and Robin's inteferance. Meanwhile, Hody has ordered all his men to move out of the Ryugu Palace to the Gyoncorde Plaza along with the residents of the Fishman District, allowing the captured Straw Hats to plot an escape plan. While recovering, Jinbe explains that if Luffy fights Hody now, the people of Fishman Island will see humans as a violent race, but Luffy says he has a reason to fight Hody to save his crew. However, Jinbe still won't allow him to go, thus resuming their duel.
Al Palazzo del Drago, Brook dimostra di avere imparato a separare l'anima dal corpo acquisendo, così, la capacità di passare attraverso i muri. Rufy e Jinbe, intanto, cominciano a lottare, ma vengono interrotti da Robin che a sua volta dimostra di saper far "fiorire" anche il suo intero corpo.
Cuando Luffy se dispone a ir al palacio Ryuugu para machacar a Hody y liberar a sus amigos, Jinbe se lo impide ya que no piensa permitir que unos humanos liberen la isla Gyojin de la rebelión de los nuevos piratas Gyojin, por las consecuencias que tendrá en la población que seguirá viendo a los humanos como una amenaza. Esto provoca un enfrentamiento entre ambos que los demás no pueden impedir.
Por otra parte, Brook muestra una nueva habilidad que le permite separar el alma de su cuerpo y va en busca de Paggun para que les ayude a escapar de la trampa en que Hody les metió.
En la isla Gyojin, los hijos del rey Neptune han derrotado a Dosun, uno de los hombres fuertes de Hody, y van hacia la plaza Gyoncord para liberar a su padre.
