In summer, Yamaoka and the culture division visit Kyoto for the Gion festival, and dine on botan hamo (peony-shaped conger pike). On the return journey he buys some blue mackerel sushi for a friend, but the groups eat half of it on the train. They arrive in Tokyo and discover that it was for Mr. Tojin's wife, Ryoko.
祇園祭りの帰りに土郎は陶人の妻・領子に頼まれた鯖寿司を買うが、事情を知らぬゆう子達に食べられてしまう。領子は自ら不足分を作るが、食べた陶人が食中毒で入院。原因は領子の腕か？それとも！？
