Meet the Grand River Singers cast comprised of former show choir geeks, drama club dorks, and those with their own unique and special brand of flash and pizazz!
Meet the Grand River Singers from La Crosse, Wisconsin - the only Glee-inspired adult show choir in the country! Tensions run high as choir directors Tim and Rob audition singers and dancers for a new cast. Old members worry about being cut and potential new members give it their all in order to be considered for the upcoming GRS season.
With the newly assembled cast rehearsing for the first time together, oldies and newbies battle it out for the coveted solos for the new season and it isn't pretty. GRS heads to its first gig of the season and are surprised to find themselves singing to an audience who are really there for a cow chip throwing contest.
The oldies and newbies seem to have issues blending together so Rob and Tim plan a day on the Mississippi for a little team building. It proves to be disastrous and fractures the cast even more with most of the negative energy focused on Rob's direction of the group. And the group stands out like a sore thumb as they perform at a monster truck rally in all of their sequined glory.
When a cast member can't make it to an upcoming performance, Rob is pressured to step in and learn all of the songs and choreography and he's nervous as hell. GRS has to compete for attention at a local festival when they find out their stage is right next to 30 Porta -Potties.
Tensions come to an ugly head as the cast confronts Rob about his dictatorial ways. They seem fractured beyond repair and can barely make it through a performance at a local theme park without multiple things going wrong. Tim and Rob have a major blowout about it. The cast concocts a plan to set things right again and give Tim and Rob an evening they'll never forget.
The Grand River Singers are asked to make an audition tape for a potential appearance at the Mall of America. Much to Tim and Rob's amusement, cast members Greg and Steven almost come to blows on how the tape should be produced. Or, as Rob says, "Welcome to my nightmare, bitches!". The cast also performs a flash mob at a local grocery store.
It is Oktoberfest time in La Crosse, Wisconsin and GRS don their lederhosen to hit the parade route and perform for a beer-swilling crowd of thousands. Rob and Tim panic as audio problems arise just as they approach the judges' stand.
GRS prepare for their biggest performance ever at the Mall of America in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Emotions run high as they realize this might be the last time they perform together as a cast before they have to audition all over again for next season.
