Em 1979, Maria Isabel Caldeira precisou deixar o Brasil devido ao envolvimento de seu marido, Humberto, em um sequestro político. Por isso, deixou para trás um filho ainda bebê, Lucas. Ao voltar, quinze anos depois, sua grande batalha é a busca do filho perdido. Maria Isabel volta no mesmo voo de Renato Alcântara, astro do futebol europeu que retorna ao Brasil para ser técnico do Pindorama Futebol Clube.
