Personal Foul

Kelly spielt mit ein paar Freunden Basketball. Dabei fällt ihm auf, dass der weiße Anwalt Larry permanent den Schwarzen Nathan provoziert. Als Nathan sich wehrt, passiert das Unglück: Larry bricht tot zusammen. Kelly ist gezwungen, Nathan zu verhaften.

A minor skirmish on the basketball court leaves one of Kelly's friends dead and the other in jail for murder. Laura feels as though she's being dangled in front of Giardella. John's buddy has trouble dealing with being locked up and makes the whole situation worse. Sipowicz is convinced that a man knows more about his wife's death than he is letting on so he stirs him up. Janice warns Kelly and saves his life during a drug raid and the event seems to bring them back together.

A la suite d'une altercation sur un terrain de basket, Larry Kohnstam, l'un des amis de Larry, meurt, tandis qu'un autre, Nathan Forrester, est arrêté pour meurtre. Laura n'est pas satisfaite du comportement de Giardella. Pendant ce temps, un inconnu tire sur la femme de Philippe Zimmer sur l'autoroute. Andy Sipowicz en vient à soupçonner Zimmer d'être plus impliqué dans ce meurtre qu'il ne veut bien le dire. Lors d'un braquage, Janice avertit Kelly et lui sauve la vie pendant une descente de la brigade des stupéfiants. L'évènement semble les rapprocher.
