人生崖っぷちに追い込まれた、家族嫌いで子ども嫌いの最低男・大森一平（おおもり・いっぺい／香取慎吾）が、選挙に当選するためにシングルファーザーの義弟・小原正助（こはら・しょうすけ／志尊淳）とその子どもたちとともに暮らすことに。日常における家族や社会、日本の問題と向き合っていく中で、最低男は義弟やその子どもたちと少しずつ本当の家族のような関係を築いていきながら、次第により良い社会を作りたいと思うようになり、やがて本気で選挙に立候補することになる！
