البلاستيك اختراع غير الحياة على وجه الأرض، وتضخمت استخداماته بالتدريج ليدخل في أغلب الصناعات، من زجاجات البلاستيك إلى المفاصل الصناعية، حتى صار الآن من المستحيل التخلي عنه دون أن ينهار عالمنا كما نعرفه.
لكن البلاستيك كذلك يدمر البيئة بالتدريج، بفضلاته التي يكاد يكون من المستحيل تحللها، ودوره في زيادة الاحتباس العالمي ونقل الأمراض والإضرار بالحياة البحرية.

But plastic is also gradually destroying the environment, with its waste that is almost impossible to decompose, and its role in increasing global warming, transmitting diseases, and harming marine life.
