Even over half a millennium later, a 15-foot long piece of linen cloth known as “the Shroud of Turin” continues to baffle both scientists and followers of Christianity and the Catholic Church. The famous image that the shroud contains has since become an icon for Jesus Christ, but heated debate still exists on whether or not the Holy relic is actually genuine. It was during the early stages of the Hundred Years War, when a French knight, by the name of Geoffroi de Charny, came across one of humanity’s most alluring and mysterious artifacts. It is known as the Holy Shroud, or the Shroud of Turin. It is a 14.5' x 3.5' length of linen cloth, containing the image of a man who appears to have been executed by means of crucifixion.
