Nancy is now a 21-year-old college student in Manhattan, sharing an apartment with her friends Bess and George. Nancy works part-time at a temp agency, Bess writes an advice column for a local paper, and George works as a courier while learning to become a documentary filmmaker. Ned Nickerson is Nancy's boyfriend, who is studying in Africa but occasionally comes to visit her. Midway through the series, Nancy and her friends take a trip to Paris for summer vacation. Filmed in Canada and France.
