In this premiere episode of season 2, Liz has been transplanted fifteen hundred miles away from Texas to New York City. While moving to New York has always been a dream of Liz's, actually living there has become a little bit of a nightmare. She's having difficulty keeping up in art school and navigating the city, and is finding that her relationship with Bryson is way more complicated than she thought it would be. But Liz does discover that sometimes things have a way of working out when she least expects it.
After finding out Bryson wasn't being completely honest with her, Liz decides to shut out all things Texas and focus on building a new life in New York. From a new crush (a charming musician named Louis) to the search for a new apartment, Liz is ready to take her new city by storm. But just when she thinks she has it all figured out, New York throws her another curveball.
Louis invites Liz to crash with him for a few days, temporarily easing her fears about surviving in New York. But her attitude changes after meeting Jordan, Louis's super-cute roommate (and band-mate!) Meanwhile, back home, Sully and Bryson call a truce in order to join forces in their quest to make contact with Liz, leaving her with a difficult decision. Does Liz stick it out in New York for the summer or does she go back home to Texas for some much-needed R&R?
Liz is making the most of being home again. that is, she's plopped herself on the couch with a bottomless bowl of cheetos and multiple seasons of True Blood. However, her stay-cation is disrupted when a despondent Sully returns from a failure at Eagle Scout camp. As part of her operation to "save" Sully, Liz agrees to an arranged reckoning with Bryson. Unfortunately for Liz, the brokered reunion turns out to be way more than she bargained for.
Louis breaks the news to Liz that he going on tour for three months, leaving his relationship with Liz on the line. Liz receives a mysterious note and questions whether it was Louis or Bryson who sent it. Meanwhile, Sully arrives in New York to tell Marlene how he feels during an interview with Stan Lee. The season ends with Bryson finally being truthful of his feelings for Liz.
